If Rebekah's disappearance is seen as a "domestic", it is possible that it could be treated a certain way by authorities, IMO. Old attitudes still exist.

Where I live, the approach to drownings is sometimes to wait until just before the spring melt for water levels to drop, if the initial search finds nothing. Officials also hold an annual fall aerial search of the waterways.

However, the I-90 is well-known as a drug transportation corridor, so this cannot be ignored. This is why I pointed out the unidentified woman found north of the border in Pincher Creek, Alberta. Drugs are transported north and the Crowsnest Pass area along Highway 3 is an east-west transportation corridor. A highway rest stop seems like a logical place where contacts would be made, or where truckers might stop to check a load. Significant drug seizures have been made at the border crossings at Piegan-Carway and Coutts-Sweetgrass.

Are you suggesting that Rebekah might have been a drugs smuggler or taken by drugs smugglers....sorry if I don't understand your point.

Rebekah went missing in July, 2021, according to LE she had probably drowned (along site of her buddy, the dog, who was found)....it was a wonderful day that day and they kept on searching the river and all the connecting waterways.....her body is still not found...IMO that is strange...now autumn has come and soon winter will set in....IMO it's not realistic that if her body is still not found, it will be found in spring. (You never know off course....but what is the likelihood?)

Local LE has said (per laurawlms) that they will not co-operate with PI or SAR (incl. Equusearch) -- does that sound like they want the matter resolved?

IMO, anyone interfering with the family's attempt to find her should be charged with obstruction of justice....up to five years in the cooler.

The article from KPAX noted roadside altercations by people trafficking/transporting illegal drugs along the I-90. Major amounts of drugs move along this corridor. If Rebekah was a witness to one of these altercations or other drug-related activity, she could have been in jeopardy. The question to ask police is whether the area of the highway where she was last seen is known for drug altercations. We know they patrol this area specifically looking for trafficking activity, so it is a reasonable question that they should be able to answer.

I'm not judging whether it is realistic or not to expect to find Rebekah along a waterway. I am saying that when people disappear along waterways where I live, police often re-search the area when waterways are low in the spring. Areas of known snags are looked at. Also, general searches (not for any one person) of waterways are conducted from the air every fall where I live, when the water is low. I suspect this will happen in B.C. next spring, due to people missing in recent landslides. So this is another reasonable question for police: will they conduct a further search in the spring, either from the air, by land and water, when the water flow is lower? If not, why not?

Ok, I understand now. Thank you for explaining.

You're welcome. North of the border, people go missing and are found murdered along highways known as drug transportation corridors. I don't think it is a coincidence.

BTW, I think it is also a good idea for LE to share the information about Rebekah's disappearance with the RCMP, if they haven't already done so. This could be another question and request that they should be willing to discuss with the family.

Has anyone enlisted the help of outfitters and hunting supply stores, and anglers/fishing supply stores in Alberton and Missoula? It's elk hunting season now. Hunters are notoriously good at spotting things out of place in wilderness areas, and tracking. Posters in hunting stores and talking to the owners and staff could be helpful.

In the spring, owners of fly fishing shops and operators of rafting companies could be asked to keep their eyes open. Posters in these businesses could help, too.

Something like a piece of clothing or disturbed soil could turn things around. Sometimes it's the dogs who make discoveries.

I don't know if an organization like this does similar work on your side of the border.

Hutterite team travels Canada recovering bodies of drowning victims | The Star Phoenix

The Ralstons in Idaho might be able to refer you to someone.

Bring up the bodies: the retired couple who find drowning victims

One more idea. It might be worth contacting this organization to ask for help. Victims are victims. Where I live, we have many missing and murdered women and girls along a stretch of highway nicknamed the "Highway of Tears". Many are indigenous. Some are not.

One final thought. Have the tattoo shops in Missoula and area been asked to display missing person posters for Rebekah? The hummingbird tattoo seems like such a symbol of hope. Tugs at the heartstrings for me, anyways.

Thank you. We have contacted the Ralstons. I believe they said the Clark Ford River is too rocky for their equipment.

I will remind Rebekah's mom to seek out the tattoo shops to hang fliers.

Effort has been made to notify hunters. I will pass on your suggestions. Thank you.
