I just don't understand why he keeps going on the talk shows if he doesn't want to. Didn't he say a few days ago he would not go back on NG? And then last night he's there talking about Lenny and doing all the things you mentioned.

I think he should stay off the air, because the more he's on, the more we see the real TM, not just the myth that his supporters believe. I wish I could say what I truly want to say, but it could get me banned if not sued. I'll just say that I believe TM has "issues" that, if known, may explain away some of his inconsistencies and his poor, pitiful me demeanor. Even though some may not believe this - I don't have anything against TM as a person. What I do object to is his being elevated to saintly status. IMO, JMO, MOO.

LP's search of the waters at BP are going forward...so am I the only one on this board who realizes that LP still has a green light to do so, regardless of what transpired yesterday?

LP's search permits were not, I repeat, not yanked by the park authority - and you can bet your bottom dollar that if something hadn't been right in the state of Denmark after yesterday that he wouldn't be searching again today.

Like LP or not, he's still the ONLY one out there doing the dirty work with his team.

Go LP.

Doing SOMETHING is better than doing nothing.

People can argue for the rest of eternity about everybody's motives & actions.... AFTER Caylee is found.

I watched the show last night and am upset by what I heard of the exchange involving TM and LP. I am upset with Nancy Grace because she did not handle it very well.

I have tremendous respect for TES and Tim Miller. Most of his searches are without press or media coverage on the national level. TM does not care if it is in the press or not - he is doing what he believes in and has been very successful at it. It really is disappointing that some people who were so supportive of TM is so against him now. That is one of the reasons I am not posting much.

IF Padilla wanted to do this search for the right reasons, he could have done it differently. He could have roped off the area where the divers were going in and out of the water and kept the public at a safe distance. He could have waited to announce the finding of anything until the proper authorities had been called. But he made statements before the OCSO got there. This should not have been done, IMO. Padilla is, as he stated himself, a media .

Now I am giving myself a time out because I cannot bear all of the back and forth that is going on. LP is a bounty hunter. TM is a professional search and rescue person and I have great regard for him.

TM should stay off TV unless he has something to say about where Caylee might be or a search or, respond to questions about said.

I don't know whether TM was baited onto the show, as an opportunity to air his grievances but -- that's NOT a good idea. Keep it professional and focused.

I SOOOOOOO agree with everything you've said. How TM got elevated to god-like status is beyond me. I have nothing against him - I just don't think he's a god. Yes he has suffered a tragic loss - haven't we all?

Tim comes across as such a sad sack. The way he was theatrically placing his head in his hands, covering his eyes, covering his mouth, shaking his head, etc. when Leonard was speaking just annoyed the h*** out of me. I think he plays up the poor, downtrodden, tragic figure to gain sympathy and evidentally quite a following.

He does these searches with money from contributions. He's not using his own money. TM is a travelling searcher who finances his travelling and searching using other people's money. That's all he is when you get right down to it.

This post will probably get me banned, and as always it's just MOO.

It looks like it is coming down to either being a Miller Angel or a Padilla Devil.

i work for parks dept (not in FL). he would have to have permits or he would NOT be allowed in the water.

I have great respect for Tim, and I still think he is an honorable man. With that said, here are some observations of my own:
LP did not say one bad word against Tim... not even when he was bashed by Tim and two of the attornies on NG.
Tim has mentioned on every appearance of NG's show how much money he has spent on these searches. LP has never once mentioned how much money he has spent and lost.
Tim claimed that he (TES) has spent more money on these searches for Caylee than in any case he's been on. Not true, he has been to Aruba 8 times, and spent a month there the first time searching... with no success.
And I might add... he is the one who called Dave Holloway to report that they found Natalee, and then had to eat his words when it turned out he was wrong. (This was during that last ocean search... the one that cost the owner of that boat over a million bucks.)

Now, my opinions may not count for anything, but I am puzzled by his statements, as I was puzzled when he so suddenly called off the search last weekend. A lot of people drove for many miles to help only to find out that it was cancelled by that afternoon. I don't blame people for being disillusioned, and upset with Tim. He made a lot of claims that he didn't fulfill. He aligned himself with Mr. Nejame and the Anthonys and he jumped to conclusions without knowing all the facts. And this, after LP praised him and TES many times on t.v. and was responsible for getting donations to TES through his website. And still....... LP does not badmouth him on national t.v. He took his lumps and kept his mouth shut. To me, that sounds like one was a true gentleman, and the other was not.

LP has never held himself up to be a saint, he admits his mistakes, and doesn't pull any punches. He doesn't claim to be an expert. He did not try to steal the limelight, nor did he stomp off in a huff when the media focused on someone else. And at least he didn't pull out after little more than 24 hours of searching.... he's still there, and he's got his heart in the right place.
I will still respect Tim and the work he does.... but he is not a god and not a saint, he is only a human, subject to making mistakes, just like anyone else.

FYI, LP did call the authorities...the FBI. Local LE forgot to mention that:

he is on camera with the reporter stating that his first call was to the FBI which he showed her his call log on his phone and she called the number herself to verify it was in fact the FBI.

i saw a comment about bounty hunters capturing fugitives for monetary reward. in MOST cases a bounty hunter is capturing fugitives that THEY have bailed out of jail...prior to bail expiring have having to put forth the entire amount of bail - instead of the 10% required to spring someone out of jail...if that makes sense. i.e. if KC would have jumped bail (not appeared for court date) the judge would have issued LP a time frame to produce her in his court room. if not, the 50k that he put forward originally is taken and LP would have to pay the additional 450K still owed on the bond. i'm sure this has all be explained before sideways, backwords & inside out.

As far as money being refunded to members of the Bounty Hunters forum…Rob Dick himself explains EXACTLY how much money was collected including a donation, but because of recent events will not spend any of his time to deliver it to him – therefore it is being returned. STILL he says to all of his readers – if you wish to donate to them – do it directly to them. He does not want any part of it – and I can see why. He is not saying STOP DONATING TO TES…

And about the sighting in Coral Springs – their local police dept had had concluded that it was unfounded PRIOR to CA being interviewed on TV…no link – but I read it with my own eyes on one of the 500 news sites I was on yesterday.

and last - it is my understanding that the black water divers are the same ones the OCSO would call out to dive for them when the need arises. again no link - but i saw it on one of the sites AND heard the owner himself say it in an interview.

It isn't about taking sides. These are just observations and I agree with this assessment. Add to that, LP makes a great effort to keep his promises. LP also gave back donations intended partly for TES and partly for LP's fugitives website. LP is refunding in full AND sending TES their share, which means he is paying the TES donations part himself.
There are many who have expressed extremely positive comments prior to this about TM and TES. That's fine. This isn't about sides or who's better or worse. It is about observing the uncivil discord directed at LP. IF TM or others are so stressed out they have to find an enemy in LP, then perhaps it is time for a long vacation to rest, regroup and restore so searches for any missing person can focus on the objective and not the surrounding interpersonal, perhaps less than professional dynamics.
