If the person has ever been arrested and is in the system, not that long. But if they have to use genealogy DNA, that could take a while to come up with possible relatives.
In some states, DNA is not taken until conviction, not at arrest.

So the article says that Carlos stated he was detained because a relative of his called in a tip that said that Carlos' eyes looked like the guy in the video released by the FBI at NG's front door.
That's going to make family holidays very very interesting in the future. I admit, I don't see that much resemblance to the picture.

There is a Border Patrol station in Uvalde area. There was call for all LEOs to the school so they came—thankfully.
Heat seeking cameras wont find NG at this stage IMO
Usualy a search is called off after a reasonable time. It could resume with new evidence/ideas, of course. It won't go on forever. How long before it is called off?

No crime except for the gun on the camera.
But my point is if no body can’t prove a gun used in crime. Just a possible thought as to why victim would not be left at house. Moo

I just had an interesting thought. Hoax or not, I would very much like to imagine the perp freaking out all day, wondering who on earth was going to turn him in for 1 bitcoin.😂
Let's say they determine this new letter to be legit (however one comes to that conclusion)....if the family had any seriousness about paying the original ransom (I have no clue how close they were or weren't), and if the bitcoin wallets are traceable, why not pay this new one? You either get valuable info or you don't but then you know who the person is that lied just to get money.

I'd like to know about that package? It wasn't there when the pics of this guy was at the door that I saw. IMO
It wasn't there at the night of the kidnapping but why it wasn't collected is beyond me. It could be a regular order or it could have something from the kidnapper.

Trust me it's there . The 27 second one . Walks up, puts hand to camera , walks back to porch entrance , takes a step to the right, picks up rope. Starts walking back to door
I believe that's the video where he walks back to the walkway to pull out some lantana (flowering plant) branches and returns to try to obscure the camera with them.

Did anyone else notice that in the snapshots of the suspect, one of them he does not have the gun and backpack on him. Are there 2 separate people wearing the same clothing? Or is that a photo of him captured after committing the crime..? Walking back to the house after using the gun and items in the backpack, to remove the camera?
That picture supposedly said ALTERED when posted so the LE digitally removed backback for more normal view of body/clothing.
It is b-w image so cant really tell colors of things

How about if someone was simply going to commit a robbery and steal something of value a small safe or jewelry. They knew where a hidden key was and walked into the house knowing exactly whete it was kept. NG woke up.to go to the bathroom or something and saw him. I don't have a source for this so will have to say it's my opinion. The cellphone was on.the kitchen counter and she may have taken her hearing aid out so didn't hear any nest notifications or noise outside her door. The above it only my opinion.

That's not rope. He rips the plant apart.

if the perp's in codis they could then find him within hours. but if they have to resort to FGG, that takes months in the best cases.
It took about 3 weeks in the Kohberger case, but they did it because they knew it had to belong to the perpetrator. Here they've got a pair of gloves, which could have a bunch of innocent explanations.

Unless they have more information, I can't see them doing that.

But who knows, they may have found something in the house (blood, touch DNA on a particular relevant object).

No crime except for the gun on the camera.
Arizona law allows for the open carry of firearms without a permit. So not even that.

Apparently it is too dark to see anything other than what is in the sky.
Some nest or ring cams in NG's neighborhood may not have brush and trees between the front door and the street, and LE has likely accessed those nest or ring cams. IMO, many of the houses are set back from the street with cactus, brush and mesquite trees in front of the house so the cams don't necessarily see street traffic. MOO

I think there are quite a few pranksters sending deliveries to Nancy’s door. Yesterday it was Domino’s pizza, today it’s an Amazon parcel.

I don't think anyone has talked about the rope the criminal picks up ,in the video. Bends down on right side of entrance , can plainly see it's a rope.Or has that been mentioned ?
Those are flower vines he pulled from the flower bed to cover the camera.
