I personally don't think she grilled him, he just reacted to being questioned b/c that is his strategy to managing interviews & any perceived poor publicity imo
Google "SG controversy". Comes up with a list of the 'controversial' interviews, including DJT in 2020. That is, according to AI :)

what the FBI is highlighting / questioning in the pics of backpack is 'frontal chest straps' to secure the pack. I had two of these backpacks, when my backpack was too heavy I'd use frontal straps to distribute the weight correctly.

EDIT TO ADD: just realized the longer strap that is highlighted still has the rubber band thats on it when you purchase it... maybe he didn't realize what this was for?
To me that doesn’t even look connected to the backpack. It looks like something adhered to the jacket.

Nanos is an elected official. He's more like a politician than a general.

He's had multiple investigations prior to this case.

1. During his last election, where members of his own political party called for his resignation, and a Pima County board launched an investigation

2. During 2016, the FBI investigated the Pima County Sheriff's Department regarding corruption and the misuse of federal funds. Local outlets reported that Nanos has held a grudge against the Feds over that.

His background prior to this case is important context.
I wonder how different this investigation would be with the old FBI, not today’s politicized version which seems to err on the side of hastiness and grandstanding. JMHO.

Would people generally consider her particularly polarizing or so controversial that this would be the case? I’m not particularly that familiar with her.
SG was one of the first journalists to interview some of the Epstein survivors in 2019 after his death. Is it related to that? Seems unlikely all these years later.

OR

She is a very cheerful person and seems to have a nice family and a good life overall. Could that be a reason to commit this crime? Jealousy of her "perfect" life, flaunting it on the TV? I don't know... that doesn't seem like a good enough reason for a guy to kidnap her mom.

I remain stumped.

I don’t think so. But being a well-known public figure comes with risks, weirdos and creeps is one of those risks. Think of all the relatively benign celebrities who have ended up with a stalker.

This is really extreme, yes, but nothing surprises me anymore. MOO
I truly always thought of her more as fairly neutral and possibly even more conservative in her personal life. But I also really didn't know anything about her life until now.

I can't remember what user was familiar with military flight operations/training, but on Monday I believe, when we were tracking the medical helicopter (which turned out to be unrelated..) that user were giving info on what certain planes might be doing in the areas around Tucson: Live Flight Tracker - Real-Time Flight Tracker Map | Flightradar24

I'm asking because right now there is a US Army helicopter (GOON93) circling the mountains north of the Catalina Foothills and it was previously circling on some mountains further north of there (it took off from Pinal Airpark). It doesn't look like there's much up there other than a small ski resort and they weren't circling that but hiking trails and some canyons (and the furthest right circling is around some old mines up in the mountains).

Could be for a missing hiker or training or anything else, but thought it was interesting that it was military and it wasn't taking off from any bases nearby which I think is more common for training ?

It looks like this area that they were circling over.

not with the advancement of genetic genealogy. if they do get/have dna i feel good enough about their ability to find a suspect that way.
Genetic genealogy is a very slow process. Can take months. Or longer.

Yes there seems to be issues with him and local LE- ITA. The FBI is also having publicized issues and recent controversies regarding issues with prioritized investigations and their Director's competency has been questioned. Imo both teams are making mistakes and behaving poorly, from what I can see here, and that is compounding things further.
I think you are understating it greaty.

Nanos was investigated by the very agency he is currently working with, the FBI in 2016 for corruption (and not the current director). That could have ended his career. He likely hates their guts. He's also a political person, not a soldier or beat cop (he came up in corrections btw) who has demonstrated past vindictiveness in his last election by putting his political rival, another cop on administrative duty, to the point where his own party called for his resignation and a county board launched an investigation. He is a highly flawed politician that has a track record of vindictiveness and a beef with the feds.

That's a very important context that you need to sink in, considering this mutli-agency dynamic and the motivations of the politcal person that's front and center in this case. And btw I do not share your apparent views about the FBI at all, I think you'd find the country divided on that but that's for another discussion and really not pertinent to the Nanos dynamic at all.

why would they not share!?!?
Nanos was investigated by the FBI for corruption and federal fund fraud in 2016. He apparently has a grudge w. the FBI according to local reporters.

Is it possible I wonder if this guy used some kind of off road vehicle. I would think there's all kinds of paths and areas around that desert area that could be traversed.

IMO in a quiet neighborhood like Nancy’s that would be the last thing you would use to be stealthy.

After all the media attention and detaining the wrong man, agents wandering aimlesslessly in the yard, pizza guy going unnoticed, taking luminol photos a week in, and NY Post of all outlets finds gloves on the side of the road, LE goes and locates her gardening gloves in the home. A pair of gloves. Hmmm...... Pure speculation on my part, JMO
This is what happened when they found Caylee Anthony's little body. They went to the house and found the trash bags, bedding and duct tape roll to match those items found with Caylee's body. It's not unusual. IMO

With all the people voluntarily submitting DNA to know more about their heritage, there may be family members who will match.
Yes, or do genetic genealogy, get close relatives, it leads right to the perp.

Does anyone have any info on why Nancy’s name would have been searched so many times before the incident - from places outside of her state? I am not seeing a lot of info about this and … idk it seems kind of important? Would love to hear your thoughts!

the glove was found early on and sent to a lab and apparently they are now saying it should have gone to FBI.
Could you please provide a link for "early on" (what day the glove was found)?

Could be for a missing hiker or training or anything else, but thought it was interesting that it was military. There's another Army heli that also took off from Pinal but went west and then circled back close to this heli, circling over Tiger AZ, which is another abandoned mine with no roads in.

Dang ok there are now FOUR separate US Army helicopters on the tracker, all took off from Pinal Airpark recently, going in different directions out from Pinal and CIRCLING over mountainous clusters/canyons/bodies of water (the topography of AZ is so crazy to me as an East coaster) and former mines, it appears.

I'm trying to not get too excited about this as it COULD be unrelated but seems very coincidental in terms of what LE should be doing to search. Interesting though it is past dark in Arizona right now, I believe.

EDIT: I lost the fourth, I wonder if it's just out of range/service or it landed.
