After all the media attention and detaining the wrong man, agents wandering aimlesslessly in the yard, pizza guy going unnoticed, taking luminol photos a week in, and NY Post of all outlets finds gloves on the side of the road, LE goes and locates her gardening gloves in the home. A pair of gloves. Hmmm...... Pure speculation on my part, JMO
This is what happened when they found Caylee Anthony's little body. They went to the house and found the trash bags, bedding and duct tape roll to match those items found with Caylee's body. It's not unusual. IMO

With all the people voluntarily submitting DNA to know more about their heritage, there may be family members who will match.
Yes, or do genetic genealogy, get close relatives, it leads right to the perp.

Does anyone have any info on why Nancy’s name would have been searched so many times before the incident - from places outside of her state? I am not seeing a lot of info about this and … idk it seems kind of important? Would love to hear your thoughts!

the glove was found early on and sent to a lab and apparently they are now saying it should have gone to FBI.
Could you please provide a link for "early on" (what day the glove was found)?

I can't remember what user was familiar with military flight operations/training, but on Monday I believe, when we were tracking the medical helicopter (which turned out to be unrelated..) that user were giving info on what certain planes might be doing in the areas around Tucson: Live Flight Tracker - Real-Time Flight Tracker Map | Flightradar24

I'm asking because right now there is a US Army helicopter (GOON93) circling the mountains north of the Catalina Foothills and it was previously circling on some mountains further north of there (it took off from Pinal Airpark, which is public use, not military). It doesn't look like there's much up there other than a small ski resort and they weren't circling that but hiking trails and some canyons (and the furthest right circling is around some old mines up in the mountains).

Could be for a missing hiker or training or anything else, but thought it was interesting that it was military. There's another Army heli that also took off from Pinal but went west and then circled back close to this heli, circling over Tiger AZ, which is another abandoned mine with no roads in.

Dang ok there are now FOUR separate US Army helicopters on the tracker, all took off from Pinal Airpark recently, going in different directions out from Pinal and CIRCLING over mountainous clusters/canyons/bodies of water (the topography of AZ is so crazy to me as an East coaster) and former mines, it appears.

I'm trying to not get too excited about this as it COULD be unrelated but seems very coincidental in terms of what LE should be doing to search. Interesting though it is past dark in Arizona right now, I believe.

EDIT: I lost the fourth, I wonder if it's just out of range/service or it landed.

why would they not share!?!?
According to Tuscon's former Undersheriff, the Sheriff is driven by ego. He claims the Sheriff has a long history of weird behavior and of not wanting to cooperate with other agencies.

My source was the same BE video.

Yes. The gloves would have to come off for certain tasks. So where do the gloves go during a crime? Stuffed into a jacket pocket or thrown on the floor if in a hurry? Set down somewhere with the intention of picking them up later?

I live in an area hit hard with snow and cold. Today I was running errands and noticed a number of gloves/mittens on the ground in parking lots and sidewalks. Also my purse was so stuffed full, I had to dump the contents out and sort it out. On the bottom of my purse was a missing pair of gloves. I was getting a first hand lesson in lost and found gloves.

People take off their gloves for various reasons and then they go missing.
I have a habit of taking my gloves off and putting them in my lap when driving. I get out of the car without thinking and end up losing at least one of them.
Genetic genealogy is a very slow process. Can take months. Or longer.
The Golden State Killer was identified using IGG in less than 2 weeks. 3rd and 4th cousin matches can take 50-100 hours. Immediate family matches can be identified within hours.

Are we looking at incompetence or something else?
I can't say because I didn't read the Daily Mail article and it's not available now to link. Based on what others have posted on this site, I'd guess it's not incompetence. JMO

Now, that makes a lot of sense. Most households in the area have an ATV, it is a popular outdoor activity in the area.
Too noisy in the middle of the night, IMO.

Savannah did a Tucson Hometown segment that featured Nancy in November.

Millions of people could’ve watched it when it first aired. At the minimum, I’d say at least a few hundred thousand would’ve.

That’s what there’s been a lot of speculation about. Could a random have seen Nancy in it and decided to target her on that basis? She’s very sweet but obviously not in great health in the video, and it probably wouldn’t be hard for someone to figure out she lives alone. 😔

This is probably the weirdest case I've seen. And there's been some weird ones here on Websleuths and elsewhere!! Was it just today that LE was asking neighbors for camera footage?? I'd have thought they'd do that right away.

Saw this in a random comment on FB and I kinda feel the same!! "I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm about ready to pack a bag, fill the car up with gas, and go look for (NG) myself." I can't say it better myself, and not that I'd be any more help especially at this point. But this has been just strange. Trying to get back to brass tacks here:

Just some thoughts of mine:
- I don't necessarily rule out family, but I do not believe this is related at all to an inheritance or money to the family at all. A body or certain death is pretty necessary for a quick inheritance.
- Possibly an accident occurred and body was removed to cover up. If this is the case, the accident would have had to stem from an argument. IMO. Because otherwise, why wouldn't someone just call the emergency! So this is still possible IMO
- Plus, the footage/pictures released clearly show a masked individual tampering with the camera at whatever the time stamp was. If the above point is true, some family member masked themselves up and returned to the scene of the argument-caused accident to remove evidence to cover it up.

I do try to have some faith in LE. I assume if they have the footage of the masked individual then they have some footage of NG arriving home earlier in the evening. If they didn't have that footage or some solid proof, then the family members would have already been detained IMO. It's ridiculous to think LE would let them go without that kind of basic (IMO) information. Same with SG not being involved, same with the brother not being involved. If LE didn't have solid alibis for these people, they would have been detained. It's really ridiculous to think otherwise. So, given these thoughts, I believe NG made it home just fine at least. The attack or removal occurred later.

So let's just say the person(s) who drove her home and maybe walked her inside (although LE would have some record of this, no?), and some argument then accident occurred, person panicked. They left the house pretending all was well, went about their business, then middle of the night dressed up and came back to the house to remove the body because they believed the body contained some kind of evidence of their involvement in the crime. Certainly possible. I think unlikely. Unless both of the parties to the earlier evening events were involved, one or the other would be questioning the other's activities by now, right?

I personally don't think family is involved, at least not directly or even willingly. I also don't think most of the ransom demands are related to her disappearance. JMO

Another thought:
- Someone fascinated or even angry with SG...but why target the mother? Unless the notes (assuming they are legit) say something like "SG you are awful ... blah..." then how would anyone even know this was the point. IMO, if a perpetrator is trying to hurt someone by using a surrogate, they would want the target to know. Right?
- One of the other siblings mentioned something to someone...about money/valuables? Even if the siblings weren't involved, who did they talk to enough for that person to think there was some benefit in doing this?

To me, it's clear this was a planned attack or robbery, but I don't think kidnapping/murder was the initial goal. The suspect we see on footage took great care to hide his/her identity and disable the cameras. Was NG known to keep cash or other valuables in her house? Was her house a target in other ways, extra large or especially luxurious than the others in the neighborhood, that would attract organized robbers? I just kind of think that her home and maybe her person (with a famous daughter who I'm sure people assume is very wealthy) was targeted for a robbery. Something went wrong, and those individuals (I do believe more than one) took the body to hide evidence. Perhaps one of the perpetrators assaulted her in a way that would have caused her to have dna on her and they were savvy enough to realize it, and thought it was easier to take the body.

In any case, while I do hope that by some miracle NG is still alive, I find it unlikely at this point. :(

All JMO. I welcome any corrections to my line of thinking, if based on falsehoods!

IMO in a quiet neighborhood like Nancy’s that would be the last thing you would use to be stealthy.

There are electric ones now, that are silent.

That air park is home to a heliport for Arizona Army National Guard per Wikipedia

I checked that and couldn't really find any pattern. Did you notice the traffic in North Dakota? I tried several variations and it was always at the top.

Thanks for the info on flock cameras. The image in the story looked very good to me. LE could recognize the car.

I’m wondering if the county has different cameras. I’m a little curious why the street cam that had an image of the getaway car, wasn’t clear enough for info. High speed? I don’t know if that makes a difference. Any ideas?

JMO
For your question (bolded by me) - are you referring to the post from reporter Matt Finn where he said "There is a scenario in which a Guthrie getaway car was not clearly recorded on a traffic camera", and then listed the various kinds of Tucson/Pima County/Oracle Road traffic cameras?

If so, I interpreted Matt's post a little differently. I didn't think he was saying that a specific getaway car has been identified in the Guthrie case. Instead, I think he was hypothesizing about different traffic camera scenarios/challenges LE might run into if they *do* identify a potential Guthrie getaway car that they are trying to gather info on. JMO / MOO though!

Here’s the Reuters report. Prepare to be enraged:

Woefully behind, but I did have a comment. I feel very differently about the FBI and its abilities now than I did in the not so distant past. Perhaps, there was actual reasons behind these decisions, and perhaps, all the negative “leaks” about the Sheriff are being promoted by an overly self-promoting and not so trustworthy current FBI

I don't think anybody here is going to have conclusive info, but a few points to keep in mind:
  1. NG was on the Today show with SG in November, so millions of people saw her and learned about her there. It's not surprising if some wanted to learn more.
  2. There is an author with the same name who probably gets some search traffic.
  3. Geolocating the person doing a search query is inexact at the best times, and can be totally off if they are using a VPN or other privacy-protection measures.
  4. As I mentioned earlier, Google Trends is not accurate for exact counts of searches, or for information about low-volume searches. Its intended purpose is for showing trends in popularity of relatively common/popular search terms. I would be cautious about drawing conclusions from data about uncommon searches (especially things like "there were no searches before date X, and suddenly people are searching it!")
JMO, YMMV, MOO, IMHO, all the things

LE has just requested that people/businesses in the area check their security cameras for Jan 11 as well as Jan 31. Not sure what they are supposed to be checking for.. I assume for cars passing in the very early hours of 2/1? This investigation seems to be moving in slow motion... why is this request coming out now? I understand that perhaps there might be some evidence they recently gathered that points to Jan 11 as being significant, but we know the significance of the evening of Jan 31. They could have requested that days ago. How much video evidence has potentially been lost due to the delay in this request, not to mention the delay in finding NG if someone comes forward with useful evidence?
