Would LE know exactly how those nest cameras were disconnected?

From what I read you disconnect them from an app on your phone.
Is there any other way you can disconnect them?

If a stranger disconnected them from Nancy's phone then she would probably have had to participate in doing that either that or someone close to her would be able to access her phone to do that.

Cutting the wifi would disconnect the camera too, for another possibility.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is rejecting allegations that he is withholding evidence from the FBI in the Nancy Guthrie Case.

Nanos told KVOA that the allegations are “not even close to the truth.”

A federal law enforcement source previously told Fox News Digital that Nanos was restricting the FBI from obtaining key evidence in the 84-year-old's disappearance. The evidence requested by the FBI includes a glove and DNA found inside Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, home, according to information first reported by Reuters.

Federal officials have asked Nanos for the items so they could be processed at the FBI's national crime laboratory in Quantico, Virginia. However, Nanos has insisted on sending the evidence for testing at a private lab in Florida, according to the source.

Nanos told KVOA that the private lab in Florida has been working with the sheriff’s department for years and is analyzing DNA profiles from the crime scene. He added that there were discussions with the FBI on Thursday morning about possibly sending gloves to the FBI’s lab, the station said.

"Actually the FBI just wanted to send the one or two they found by the crime scene, closest to it – mile, mile and a half . . . I said 'No, why do that? Let’s just send them all to where all the DNA exist, all the profiles and the markers exist.' They agreed, makes sense,” Nanos told KVOA.

Why would he use an independent lab and have to pay out of the county budget and if there is a trial the expenses of lab tech having to testify?

I would not react to the supposed FBI vs State Law Enforcement media panic. This comes up in a lot of long running cases. There are good reasons why local forces like help from the FBI which has some specialist resources, but don't want to hand over the whole case - which after all, is in their jurisdiction.

As far as we know, there is a decent chance this was a rando - e,g burglary gone wrong, home invader etc, in which case tracking him down could take some time. Keep in mind it took 6 weeks to identify and arrest Kohberger.

Other types of cases with staging etc can take even longer. Indeed one can find numerous cases where it can take months or years to find the victim. Many times, simply because the perp got lucky despite heavy resource investment at state and federal level.

My opinion, based on a few major cases, where the victim is missing.

That has been my experience too following cases on WS.

We’ve spent hours, days, years discussing possible perpetrators and conceivable motives only to find out that none of the actual perpetrators was who we discussed endlessly.

And that LE had much more evidence and indications of circumstances surrounding the scenes then we ever knew in the least.

It’s at trial we find that LE, who we thought from afar were dullards, knew much more all along.

To an extent they let us WSers stew in our juices not confirming or denying, seasoning with press events that keep things mysterious, salting it unintentionally with non-information “clues” that we seize on for lack of more substantial food.

Then as it’s our impatient human nature, I guess, when the news is slow we start to eat our own then the mods have to remind us to check out other threads to keep us busy.

I just can't imagine an 84 year old woman living by herself, in a community where the houses are spaced apart, away a bit from the road with no light posts on the street. She's got I would imagine delivery people she doesn't know coming to her home every so often. She's got people working around the house whether it's the pool guy, landscaping guy, or cleaning lady whatever. Yet, she allows the ring subscription to expire. Apparently there's no light in the front that was turned on. Possibly no lights turned on in the house. Did she even lock the door to her bedroom when she sleeps? The lack of security is appalling to me for an elderly woman living alone in an expensive home.

Looks like her area is kind of iffy relative to the adjacent neighborhoods. Go just a little bit south and it's real sketchy. (Per the map)

She has lived in that home since the kids were young (at least) To you, it’s sketchy, to her, it would have been normal. I grew up in a rural area. I feel more comfortable there than in the suburbs at night. She probably (IMO) let it expire because she never had the need to look at it, so didn’t see the point of it. Just sharing a different point of view. My elderly mother lived in that rural home, alone. She was often asked by city folk if she felt safe there, especially at night. Her response was always, “of course” MOO

I keep wondering, heaven forbid, if someone dropped her at the front entrance. As in they were carrying her and dropped her maybe on her head. And that could have caused the blood on the porch. Just a thought and not crazier than anything else.

I’m wondering whether NG lost her footing stepping out of the doorway and fell. I’m hoping that LE have checked hospitals for admissions during that time frame. Unlikely, but you never know with this case.

Some of the blood to me looks like it was aspirated, ie she coughed or sneezed and it spayed in fine drops, which to me says she has an injury to her nose or mouth and the blood aspirated out as some of the blood had either gone down into her throat from a nose bleed or she had swallowed some blood from a mouth injury, plus she may have been on blood thinners so this would have exacerbated any blood loss

Yes which can easily happen even if one trips bumps themself, etc and blood thinners can exacerbate the bleeding. I'm just looking for the simplest reason someone on blood thinners in a traumatic situation might start to bleed beyond some sort of violent, extra interaction..a bump could very easily do it imo. And she must have been so frightened..I know my coordination isn't great when I am stressed/scared/anxious/tired/confused (which I think is reasonable to presume she was at that time) and I have no ambulatory issues and am significantly younger then her. JMO

IMO - I agree that the Daily Beast is liberal or left leaning but not part of Time Magazine. It was once associated with Newsweek but that was only for a few years over a decade ago. Daily Beast is owned by IAC (InterActiveCorp) and Time Magazine which was previously owned by Time Warner has been owned for the past several years by the guy who started SalesForce - sorry I can’t think of his name right now. I do think the Daily Beast is considered main stream media and not a tabloid in the same sense as the national enquirer but perhaps a mod could clarify whether it is considered main stream media on WS.

Maybe people are thinking of Daily Mail which is a tabloid I think when asking if Daily Beast is tabloid...IMO Daily Beast is not a tabloid but I think the name could create that perception..JMO

She is using a technique called "facial proportion extrapolation" which is grounded in forensic anthropology.
Certain facial features correlate strongly with others. Artists use anatomical relationships to estimate covered areas. For example, eye spacing correlates with nose width, forehead shape correlates with jaw structure, and so forth.
There is some anthropologic science behind what she is doing. She has an extremely high success rate with her sketches - over 1K IIRC. It's not hoo-doo conjuring, it's the real deal.

They claim she is a retired police composite sketch artist who holds the Guinness world record for accuracy/arrests. Time will tell.

Perhaps she is all those things. However, LE did not officially release a sketch of the suspect. They have information about the suspect that this artist does not have. Her sketch will no doubt gain traction and very possibly in the wrong direction. Needed tips might not come in because the suspect could not look like this at all. She got ahead of her skis. IMO

I have never felt this was a kidnapping, this was either a burglary that turned to murder, or an intentional attack/murder, the video shows just how ridiculous the kidnapping theory is, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was opportunistic.

Video man IMO may never have intended to take away his victim, why was he carrying an extremely heavy, bulky backpack to then add on removing a victim, and taking victim to his car.

He had to have known the area as from maps it is not easy to navigate and it was nighttime so he has some familiarity to the area where NG lives, but I am on fence as to whether he knew who lived there.

Can someone recall discussion about track marks at the front of Nancy's home? I'm trying to find it in the thread, I think around the time someone brought up a wheelchair (which we are pretty certain Nancy wasn't using).

Could those marks be from a suitcase - maybe one of her suitcases is missing? Though still seems odd considering this with the blood trail given its likely she sneezed or coughed up that blood

I think everyone needs to move from Tucson! What the heck is going on there? Random people wandering over property in the middle of the night, it seems to happen often based on these videos. Same guy, same group?

What doesn't add up is that family members went to the house to check on Nancy, if it was immediately obvious that Nancy was in danger because of the state of the house, then they wouldn't wait an hour to call 'law enforcement', they would call immediately. It sounds like it wasn't obvious, if it was obvious, then why did they wait? It doesn't take an hour to search a house if done 'methodically'.

They called within 5-7 mins of arriving at the house.
