Saying this could have been prevented if NG had a guard dog, or a gun, or a robust and monitored security system, or a 24/7 armed security person, a moat and barbed wire with a fire breathing guard dragon, a husband or anything else that one thinks might have been helpful to ward off an attacker or otherwise deter an attack simply reads as victim blaming for having not done enough to prevent her own attack and disappearance. Whatever women do is never enough it seems, they always could have done more or done some thing better. If NG was a male I doubt this would keep coming up. MOO.
Brilliant. Thank you @lilyk. Nothing women do is enough.

Look at a map. Not to be flippant. public lands are state parks, US parks, city parks and some BLM lands. (Not all parks are publicly owned though. Some are private.) There is very little public land in comparison to privately owned.
Public lands include:

All BLM land is public land. It can be leased for agriculture, ranching, and logging, but it remains public land and must be accessible by the public. Lease holders, however, can block access at some points via locked gates with permission by BLM officials. So... being accessible by the public may not always mean conveniently accessible. Likewise, government officials can close it.

Other public lands include National Forests and State Forests, National Monuments etc. These too can be leased, but must remain accessible to the public so long as logging, ranching etc. is not interfered with.

Official USGS topographic maps are a good way to determine what lands are public, and which are private. As for deserts..... vast areas of deserts are public property. For example, most of Nevada is public property in one form or another. Military bases, however, are restricted. Other vast desert areas, however, are privately owned.

1. back door? window? ....I thought there was an initial report about a back door being open but I do not see that in MSM now, so IMO.
2. she's asleep
3. carry...maybe wrapped in a tarp or blanket

I suspect there would be a place to park a car if some one was familiar with the area. Just off the road
or near her driveway.

My Q: was he watching when she came home? Did he knock out the back security lights and wait to see if anyone noticed? called LE or a guard service?

It is still weird if he is a practiced burglar that he did not grab some items and he
was kidnapping. Maybe the ransom idea seemed easy but then it did not work?
The front door was unlocked and the back door was left wide open

Maybe. IMO a victim needs to be compliant to be carried that way. Any little bit of fight or movement and it's not possible.
I would agree with that but I am leaning towards NG being unconscious when she went thru that front door and the blood drops could very well be from someone being carried in a fireman's carry and concentrated there while the perp paused to close the front door but fewer and further in between as she went down the walkway to the driveway.

How would a guy that holds up a 'marry me savannah' sign in a crowd fit into your delusional unhinged lovesick stalker profile?
Some people who do that sort of thing could be concerning. Others are just goofballs looking to be on TV for 10 seconds. Like idiots who photobomb reporters.

It is rare for medical workers to wear multiple gloves unless in the operating room in cases of known or possible/suspected communicable diseases or when implants are being placed. Even still the gloves worn are by the surgeon, scrub techs and any assistants (not the rest of the staff) and are thin, tight surgical gloves. Generally, the staff will wear scrubs and likely a jacket +/- an undershirt, which is not much different than normal people in a cool workplace. They don personal protective equipment (PPE) like plastic or paper fabric gowns over clothing/scrubs for interactions with patients that have easily communicable infections (like C. diff) and then remove the PPE upon exiting the room so that they don't transmit infections to other patients. It's not the norm to just walk around with all this gear on. While of course it's possible that the abductor was a healthcare worker, respectfully, wearing multiple layers is no more likely to make the suspect a healthcare worker than a snowboarder. He could've been wearing a full body bunny suit under pants and a hoodie for all we know and workers of clean room fabrication labs are more likely to be used to wearing that attire. Also, healthcare workers tend to reflexively cover bleeding wounds and hold pressure.
As do LE, EMTs and probably Firefighters.

interesting theory- i find this one unlikely because both raids we saw targeted a 30 year old (ish) man living with a mother/woman. So i think it's more likely that if it was a stalker- he is incapable of natural romance and still lives with his mom.

About 20% of men in their 30’s still live at home, so this observation seems unnecessarily prejudicial. Not everyone has an income that will support totally independent living.

I wonder how she was transported away from the home. Car? But then how has that not been seen on any of the video from entering/exiting roadways. ATV? Loud. Golf cart? Same as car. Bike with carriage? Possible, but would have to stay on relatively paved roads/trails. Wheelbarrow? Would be quieter and make transporting a person across terrain easier, but would certainly catch attention if noticed. Carried her? For what distance?

Wondered if it might be looking at any permits and if Nancy had a dispute or if she was perhaps on the planning committees? Ours can get very agrivated here! They also have a you tube link, oddly one was cancelled on the 28th of Jan for unknown reasons.
There was some work occuring on a house about 8 minutes drive away , mid january, but I can't seem to get the map to work

That's interesting. It could be harmless and intended to be funny/cute (despite being inappropriate) or could be he's a nutter. I know I would never do that.

the idea that a gun would have helped NG or others to fight an intruder is an erroneous assumption, I have followed so many cases where the people murdered had a gun and sometimes many many guns which didn't save them, Chris Rhoden had a gun safe full, the Anderson family murders the father of the family had a gun by his bedside, when an intruder breaks in the reality is often very different from how you imagine it would happen
That's why I have two large pitt bulls. I figure they can keep the intruder busy while I get my pistol out. LOL.

I’m going to make a counterpoint here. Is there an element of victim blaming? Perhaps. But learning from other’s mistakes allows us not to repeat those mistakes in our own lives or the lives of loved ones. Many people don’t get to learn from their mistakes that’s why it’s important to learn from others experiences. The neighbor learned from the mistakes here. After the incident they bought an alarm and camera system. Indeed it appears to be paramount if you live in a similar development such as NG, an alarm and camera system that is active should be bare minimum for home security.

MOO

So who benefits? Seems like nobody benefits from a “kidnapping.” Who benefits from her death?

  • #37,317
Edit to add: If they are trying to separate DNA and its not NG's, then...hum....it would have to be 2 perps and thus the SO's office came out with the "could be two perps" most recently. Of Course, this is just IMO.

LD's DNA would be in Codis because he was convicted of a felony in Arizona.

I wasn't saying it to imply that anyone still living at home with their mother is a criminal. I was debating OPs point about the perp stalking NG because he yearned for a maternal figure in his life. I felt that it didn't meet that criteria since the FBI may be profiling the suspect to be living with his mom (but OP countered by saying they may not have a good relationship, which is a good theory). Sorry if it came off wrong.

Indeed..who? Are the Ransom demands actually deemed to be true? There seems to be very little updates on these.

But the first guy, CP, was married. The woman who spoke to Brian Entin was his mother-in-law, so this theory does not hold, IMO.
