I know this thread is 2000+ pages but yes, this has been dissected over and over and yes, there are a lot of strange mannerisms/choices in it.

Also note that he is carrying what appears to be a semi auto that is almost falling out of a mismatched pistol holster. (may not be an actual live firearm, no way to know).

The Walmart exclusive backpack also had reflective strips on it which are notorious for glowing on IR (night cams). Some have speculated it was his "kit" - an assembly of abduction tools; zip ties, duct tape, tarp or plastic sheathing, rope, etc.

The bite light was additionally interesting because he used an approximation of DNA covering PPE (gloves, etc.) but then used a saliva DNA transferring bite light (yeesh!).

I agree his handling of the camera was very fumbled, as you suggest there would be a more direct way to deal with it. Indeed the footage offered up plenty of odd details.
No doubt it's been rehashed a million times. Going back to the only visual evidence we have of the perp is vital.
I guess all the wi-fi jammer, internet connection, roof cams, alignment of the planets talk has me frustrated....lol

This sequence of events makes sense to me:
  • Perp knew there was a camera in advance (perhaps by suggested Jan 11th visit)
  • Camera is intentionally taken offline at 1:47am via WiFi Jammer or some other means
  • Perp is waiting and/or doing some other prep for the next 30 odd minutes
  • At some point before 2:12am the internet connection to the camera comes back online (if it's a WiFi jammer maybe the battery died or something)
  • Perp finally goes to enter the house (or at least try to) via the front door around 2:12am when the video is captured and gets out to Google's servers
  • Perp is surprised to see the camera is online (should be able to tell it's online via the light colour) and tries stuffing plants in front of it
  • Perp eventually disconnects/breaks the camera and takes it with them
Could be one person, could be multiple but I think it works

As for why a short range WiFi jammer would affect neighbours connections, maybe it was just a brief thing as he is passing by and already has the jammer on to be extra sure it'll be ready to block the camera's connection when he gets there
How would a neighbor know if someone had temporarily disrupted their internet or WiFi service at approximately 2:00 a.m. in the morning?

That would only be a huge, powerful, wide-spectrum military grade device, not something obtainable to an individual and carried in a pocket. The use, sale and import of any 'jammer' is prohibited by US law.
Criminals don't care if something is prohibited.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Just so you know, the administrators have asked us to not use that person's name. Initials are fine, just not the full name.

According to another poster (and the neighbour Brian Entin spoke to) the camera keeps a history of wifi disconnections and may even give you a notification that the camera disconnected

Depends, usually if the ISP (Internet Service Providers) offers an app to download- the homeowner can look at the diagnostic logs to see when the router was down. Otherwise if they didn't have an app installed you'd have to contact the ISP directly to check.

I know little about guns but would a silencer fitted on it make it too large for its holster?

Probably not.

The holster is believed to be a universal revolver holster that fits a 6" barrel so I estimated it at 10". A suppressor on a small frame semi might fit in there (he had the gun loosely jammed in there without the securing strap snapped over it as intended, it looked like it would fall out). I doubt if he was using a suppressor and signal jammers he would have such a mismatched holster or carry in that manner, completely unnecessary.

This is the guy seen on camera with two backpacks a few miles from NGs home on the night she went missing. He is using a wifi jammer. That's why he holds the backpack up like he does. They are used and not hard to acquire.

The holster is a weird thing

Would it really be more difficult/expensive to acquire a holster that actually suited his weapon?

The couple said they have four Ring cameras on their property, and that the one that is closest to Guthrie's home said “not available” when they went to look for footage from the overnight hours on the day of the abduction.

I believe they are claiming that when they went back and looked later, they noticed that one camera wasn't recording at the relevant time.

I think there are a lot of assumptions being made about a possible wifi/internet outage in the area.

I believe investigator were likely attempting to corroborate some information they might have been told. By asking various neighbors if they noticed any disruptions. MOO

If they have a Ring camera (I'm guessing other brands do this as well) it does an auto screenshot every 30 seconds up to every 14 minutes depending on what you set it at.

Going back to the video of the perp.
Who brings a full backpack to a robbery? NO ONE....
Have you ever bent over with a heavy backpack? It throws off your balance to a degree. The perp had no issues bending over for the lantana. My assumption is the backpack was filled with lighter "stuff". No bulges to suggest otherwise. He's already carrying a gun. No need for weapons in the pack. Clothing or sheets, perhaps?

That bite light is also interesting. I've only seen electricians working in the dark use these. Mechanics trying to use both hands. Plumbers in cramped spaces.

Btw, if you don't want to be caught on camera, why approach it with a semi closed fist? Wouldn't you splay your palm open?

Someone opined that he could have had other bags inside his backpack to put items in. His backpack is unzipped at the top of it.

To me he walks up to that front door like he is not expecting that camera to even be active. He raises his fist to the left side of it as if he might strike it and then realizes it is active. That is when he starts to block the camera with his hand and tries to remove it with his other hand.

Door bell camera disconnects at 1:47 a.m.
Software detects a person on camera at 2:12 a.m.

I just asked my husband what happens when we're on vacation. We have, on occasion, gotten alerts that the Ring system is no longer connected to WiFi; however, in those instances the system goes into an emergency backup (of sorts) to a cellular service. Not the cellular associated with our phones (we are not here for that to happen). It's a cellular backup between the cameras and the overall Ring system.

Of course, I have no idea what happens with Nest, but I'm guessing it might be similar.

Obviously I can't say this with certainty, but I'd imagine if NG didn't have a subcription for the camera, she likely didn't have a cellular backup either (if Nest has such an option)

Not at all.

It would also make more sense to me not to have a holster then in that situation and just have the gun concealed on his person or tucked in beltline under jacket and remove when needed. It was an over-convoluted and unnecessary display IMO and I've been carrying almost daily for 30 years in some fashion or another.

Seems like what he had or made due with quickly and also makes me wonder if the gun was real or a replica for intimidation/coercion.

I'll entertain this thought. The perp was walking from where he was dropped off/left his car/etc down the road to NGs house. He walks with his jammer on in case he may pass security cameras. As he walks by other homes, if in close enough range they lose connection for the 10 seconds it takes for him to walk by the home. Ok now you ask which neighbors experienced these disconnections and it'll basically show the trail in which the perp walked/how he entered the neighborhood.

Why I find this investigative lead to probably be a dead end:
The home are very spread out in that neighborhood. The range of consumer grade jammers are quite small.
"Average consumer-grade Wi-Fi jammers typically have an effective range of 10 to 50 meters (roughly 30 to 160 feet)"

This perp didn't have some military grade signal jammer that could reach multiple homes at once.
Also BE himself said that NGs specific area in the neighborhood has terrible cell service. Could all be coincidental. A lot of times my wifi router resets itself in the middle of the night. I stay up really late and have experienced many times where my service/wifi drops out between 2-5 AM.

Unfortunately I don't think this will get them anywhere. Kinda shows that LE has nothing concrete and yet again are grasping at straws. JMO
I searched for "jammer plus backpack" and there it is. One perp is holding the backpack near the camera (I think), and this reminds me of the perp on NG-video, who was filmed by a neighbor's camera a certain time before Nancy's abduction. You remember? He also was holding a bag or something over a wall/a fence, then took it back. I wondered, what that was supposed to mean.
Is there a connection; do we now perhaps know the purpose of the (filled) backpack of the Lantana man?

Agree the backpack was filled with light items such as tarps. JMO
I feel uncomfortable saying this, but I'm going to say it anyway: a body bag would probably be lightweight - but it might not explain the blood on the porch, unless it wasn't zipped all the way.

If it was a stalker or someone obsessed with SG, I wonder if any of her childhood memorabilia was taken.
I am guessing some family photos for sure. I am also going to refer you to that Instagram video SG posted of an old home movie showing her mom and AG and herself. It was odd and seemed out of place. I initially chalked it up to grieving. However, I then thought this was like an acknowledgement from SG that perhaps a corresponding still photo was missing from the home. I cannot find it anywhere I look. It was online and on TV. Anyone know where to look? JMO

True, but it isn't like you can go to Temu or any other supplier and buy military grade equipment. My comment was directed at the claim that a wifi jammer could jam all radio communications, gps, cellular, wifi.... The small jammers people are calling Temu jammers don't have near this capability and are directed specifically at wifi. Any jammer capable of jamming all radio communications is way beyond the scope of what LG may have had and would be huge, heavy and military grade....think electronics warfare.
