It seems we are in really insane territory for me to even be asking this question, but how would blood drops be able to be staged? You would need to collect the blood somehow and then you would need a dropper of some sort... and you'd have to do this quickly before the blood coagulated. Would a high school biology teacher have EDTA tubes at his house? It seems unlikely. On the other hand, the blood spots are just too neat-- there are no smears and no shoe prints and the blood doesn't continue past the front porch. If I had to guess, the blood was put there at the same time the camera detected motion.

Also, I watched the entire press conference again and the sheriff did say that they had recovered the doorbell camera. So the perpetrator did not take it, as many have assumed. If you look at the mounting bracket it doesn't look like someone tore the camera off... same for the wood trim... and you would expect there to be damage there, if someone had tore it off (unless they had the security screw driver, which is tedious and time consuming to use). They simply disconnected the WiFi/Internet somehow, maybe by disconnecting the router... but then a CourtTV reporter mentioned an adjacent neighbor had experienced her cameras disconnecting that same night. So maybe cut at the common source for both houses. This would explain the 1:47am disconnect and then no motion detected on camera until 2:12.... the perpetrator had to hike behind the house to disconnect and then to NG's house. Has anyone looked at where the communication/telephone easements are on the property?

The SIL may be a tech nerd; we have no idea what his interests are aside from his band.

So you mean like a mindset of...
I just couldn't imagine doing it because of that. I mean Nancy is 84 and has health issues. If they were so burdened for so many years they didn't have much longer to be so. So hard to word that, I hate knowing some people think their elderly parents are burdens. But no way would that be the reason. If they were tired of being the caretakers they could have told SG it was time to put her in a retirement community since things couldn't be 50/50. Some families DO fight over everything being even and siblings taking their turn in caring for mom or dad.

They may have asked for a loan and never paid her back before and she said no? Maybe SIL snapped and got rough with her and she said she was calling police. It could be ANYTHING that caused what happened in that house to happen that night. Elder abuse happens even in wealthier families. Maybe AG is totally innocent in this and the SIL alone or with cohorts did something and she found out and was threatened if she said anything she or more family members would have problems.

Did I read they suddenly bought a way more expensive home recently? If so, did they get in over their heads and SIL came up with this plot? Is the SIL involved with drugs? Some people do them and don't care because they get heads up when the random drug tests are coming. I want so bad to be wrong about SIL but he is not there supporting his in one single post or video. I still think he might be in custody. Exhausted by this one and it is kicking up my anxiety, that poor lady.

yup and dishes piling up among other things
This rug in front of me has become a black, soft and wooly one. It was straw. Hint: I have a black cat.

Agreed.

If this ransom requester is not associated with the initial physical crime it's possible they know they aren't getting money (because they have nothing to really prove they have her) and are just doing all this for their own cruel fun. MOO
They may figure they have nothing to lose. Send out a few fake ransom notes, even if there is only a chance getting the $millions they are asking for. And if they get no payout they had the celebrity, attention and sick fun.

Yup. That’s a really big issue. I would have expected something big by now, especially with all the resources here.
Yes, and i apologize to the poet musicians out there, but I don't see these two being able to pull this off.

If it’s true that an investigator was carrying a map, they must be using investigative tactics from 1995
While there may be many reasons as mentioned to use a paper map, I'm thinking this is more likely blueprints, for either NG's house or AG's.

I don't think she's thinking as a lawyer right now. She is utterly traumatized and in her emotions, understandably. This is too close to home for her to be thinking rationally and logically right now.

I found this paragraph in this NYT article interesting.

Experts in hostage negotiation said they could detect resignation in the statement, as if the family feared the elder Ms. Guthrie dead. But Mr. Leising, the retired F.B.I. agent, said the wording of the message was purposefully vague, a sign that investigators were not convinced the ransom note was legitimate.

“The possibility that it’s fraudulent, and these people don’t have Nancy, is still high,” Mr. Leising said.

Can anyone who has fox news confirm that they are currently searching in NG's yard near a possible septic tank? Ive only seen it on X and not from reputable source, and not in USA so can't watch!

They won't name a suspect until they are in handcuffs imo

That word "identified" always sticks out to me when they state this.

That's being widely reported, and posted several times in this fast moving thread.

-$6M Ransom
-due Monday 5pm
-or she will be killed

via JJ McKinney from Tucson ABC affiliate KGUN9 reported.

What makes no sense about this part is that paying a ransom via cryptocurrency can happen anytime. It’s not like anyone needs to be waiting around for money drop instructions.

People seem to be thinking Monday at 5 pm some transaction will take place and we’ll see action, but for all any of us know, the money has already been transferred.

I could open my Venmo and send some ransom right now if I wanted to. 😉

We know church members notified the family about Nancy's absence. Who was supposed to pick up Nancy for church that Sunday morning? Wouldn't the alarm have been sounded at that time?

News is showing LE in Nancy's backyard removing ground cover lid of septic/sewer and searching inside.
