Just wondering how often teenagers have a rage and unexpected violence might occur; and if most parents would cover for their child? Just my out of the box speculating and wondering and simply an open minded question looking at varying perspectives from a theoretical viewpoint.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. -Dylan Thomas

@MassGuy

I think you and I discussed long ago that this excerpt in your signature is from one of my favorite poems. Not sure if we did or not.

Now I hope it applies to Nancy.

I hope she gave hell to whomever dragged her out of her home. Whether she is dead or alive, I hope she fought all the way.

JMO
I would say by living on her terms and independent in her big but familiar home and continuing to live and love life she was already raging. But I agree with your sentiment.

Harvey Levin of TMZ reporting on CNN no bitcoin deposit made. Speculates may be a second account that’s more anonymous. Not wise for it to be public if ransom was in fact paid.

Moo....what is the issue with him going to a basketball game.? Separating work from person life is a good thing...moo
Perception is reality. PR optics matter in media cases.

Recently a story about fired NFL GM (Vikings) mentioned he took off for paternity leave and people said what's the big deal. Well, in his industry there were actual coaches etc. that missed the births of their kids because they were working. In some industries you need the perception that you're always hardcore dedicated, whether right or wrong people look at that.

Anyone think we'll get confirmation that the family paid?

Track attendance how? I'm not aware that any of the churches I've attended was tracking my attendance. Perhaps if a service is live streamed, one might be able to watch the comings and goings of its participants. 🤷‍♀️
Maybe it's just because I go to a smallish church. In person attendance used to be kept track of via multiple sign-in books that were passed down each pew. In recent years, there's a website system where they remind (before the service) those in attendance to log into. The services are streamed via Facebook live, so it's easy to see who's in attendance there, and it's also a place where the virtual attendees can type in comments and interact with the other virtual attendees. This would be a way someone would notice that Nancy wasn't attending virtually; her name wouldn't show up on the Facebook stream. If you google "church attendace system" you'll see there are multiple businesses that provide this service.

No. They were brought in early, likely because of their technical expertise.

But the ransom stuff is entirely their purview.
The FBI is a federal agency who handles FEDERAL CRIMES. Kidnapping is a federal crime. The FBI was brought in because this had the possibility of being a kidnapping and is being investigated as that.

@Mary_reports

And here is what we just received from the FBI: "For more than a week, FBI agents, analysts, and professional staff have worked around the clock to reunite Nancy Guthrie with her family. The FBI is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers, nor have we identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time. Additional personnel from FBI field offices across the nation continue to deploy to Tucson. We are currently operating a 24-hour command post that includes crisis management experts, analytic support, and investigative teams. But we still need the public's help.Someone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home. We need that person to share what they know. Please call us at 1-800-CALL-FBI."

Harvey Levin (TMZ) on CNN discussing the Nancy Guthrie ransom."There is nothing there. It has not been deposited."Reads a line from the ransom note:"It is in the best interests of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible."Speculates that there may have been another Bitcoin account provided in the second note. Pure speculation though.

I find it interesting that bilateral investigations keep happening and NG and AG's home, (both cars, etc) when NG was not 'taken' from AG's home, but as per the blood, from her own home...

@BrianaWhitney

I just received this message from the @FBI after the 5 pm deadline passed for the Nancy Guthrie random deadline:

“For more than a week, FBI agents, analysts, and professional staff have worked around the clock to reunite Nancy Guthrie with her family. wonder if any high school students are involved in this bizarre case? I have been saying this is so Jon Benet the whole time, but now I'm getting shades of Susan Smith...
I deeply suspect that the olde pirate/ outlaw/ biker saying of : “Three can keep a secret- if two are dead” counts double for teenagers ala: Aw shucks boss man, I only told my ex girlfriend and my best buddy on the football team.

But…. As other posters suggest one does not need to be the consigliore of the Luchesse family, nor the CFO of the Gulf cartel to create complicated bit coin schemes.

Though I think an experienced crime group is behind it, I don’t think there is a reason why a Breaking Bad type teacher, two criminally well supervised teens, and…. a little luck could not get this far.

She's gone SOMEONE took her. Motivation and circumstances unknown. If it isn't an abduction what exactly is it?

I hate using the "p" word in these times we r living in but maybe it's
political...

Sunday school ususally has a list of those who belong and attend the class but "big" church would not. There is no way for the church to know who comes into the worship service that I'm aware of.

Honestly, good. No donation being made to a crime network that likely never had or ever came in contact with NG. Ever. IMO

I've followed dozens and dozens of cases with no Federal nexus, where the FBI is involved early on.

None of them were kidnapping cases, and none of them ever wound up being prosecuted by the Feds. All a law enforcement agency has to do is ask, and they will provide assistance. It happens all the time.

The doorbell camera was a Nest, not a Ring. This is confirmed by looking at the photos of the bracket (available earlier in this thread). Sorry to keep harping on this but it does make a difference in terms of cloud storage and motion detection (and just in general it's good to try to keep facts straight in a confusing environment).
Could you please provide a source from the investigation that clearly states the doorbell camera was a Nest? I am having difficulty finding that.

I feel so far that political is the only thing it genuinely can't be. Groups or people that do this kind of thing for political reasons want people to know while the media are still interested.

So far no mention has been made of either ransom communication being political in nature.
