AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

What a turn of events. Could her daughter also be involved? Whoever went to the house didn’t call the cops for an hour. How could they miss all that blood and the camera missing? The back door wide open? Indoor camera’s smashed? Blood in the house? Nancy not home but her phone etc. was all there? MOO.
BINGO! Yep....really strange, huh? I would have instinctively called her cell phone to see if it was still in the house even if I couldn't see it, I would be listening for the ring tone. And I would keep calling in hopes of her picking it up and LEAVING LOTS OF MESSSAGES ON HER PHONE and SENDING LOTS OF TEXTS. Now wouldn't it be a "dead give away" (excuse my use of words, but hear me out) if after they received a call from the church member that Nancy hadn't arrived...Neither AG or TCioni made an immediate call to her cell phone and/or not a single text????? I wonder if in police interviews either one of them used "past tense" words for describing their relationship with Nancy. Ie, "she was so kind" instead of "she is so kind." And they would have to use each other as their "alibi"...convenient, huh? All LE had to do was separate them and do interviews, if their stories matched too perfectly...then one has to assume it was "rehearsed." An hour would also give them a chance to gather "valuables" and partial cleaning of crime scene or to stage one. I've read every killer makes 26 mistakes.
As I stated early on....LE already had eyes on them and needed to work on cracking their alibis.

New info (for me) from that Youtube video with Ashleigh Banfield:

Back door left wide open.
Nest cameras smashed.
Blood also found inside the house.
Annie Guthrie's car towed.
Tomaso Cioni (Annie's husband) also possibly last person to see her.
Tomas is the prime suspect according to source.
Born in Italy, lived in Tucson since 2006.
Age 50.
Likes lizards, writing, cooking. Plays electric bass.
Linked in says he is a 6th grade science teacher.
Put out an album called 'Early Black'.

She claims this info comes from a LE source with impeccable credentials. But caveats it by saying prime suspect does not mean guilty.

If a person have prescribed anticoagulantia medicines, they might get spontaneous nosebleeds, for example from sneezing, or blowing their nose. They can also bleed more easily from minor wounds.
Yes, I think those fine spray droplets look like they could come from a bloody sneeze. The blood pattern isn't just droplets, there is some spray there too.

And maybe from the initial LE callout, they were also wondering the same thing. I have been stuck on that time delay since Nancy was missing. I'd be on the phone within seconds if I saw any one of these things, let along a combination if it was my family.

The presser today was just so vague. Now maybe putting it into perspective, some of his behaviour, especially where he did come across a little (just a little) irritated by the repeating questioning, that he just wanted to keep up the front of exploring all leads. When in reality they are zoning in.

If the tiny drops are splatter from expirated blood, then there are two sources of the blood since expirated blood would not cause the larger more formed drops. I guess both of these patterns could be seen in a nose bleed which can occur with minimal trauma in a person taking blood thinners.
With a heavy nosebleed, she would probably have blood running down her throat (which would cause those smaller droplets if she coughed) at the same time it was dripping from her nose ☹️

It looks like the Travis blood splatter when it was said he coughed up blood at the sink- I forgot his last name-Jodi Arias case) Edit: Alexander is the last name-just came ot me lol

Suspicious thing was when that Showbiz article mentioned that he went back to check on her after driving her home.
Why would he have done that???
That made no sense and why I thought after reading that (that no mainstream reported) that he did it.

Was NG wealthy? And how many sons/daughters did she have who would be in line for the inheritance? I can't imagine wanting the inheritance was the motivation, but who knows what goes through some peoples minds?
I'd guess the home is worth a million. When divided by 3, that is pretty nice payout. And she likely had a bit more in savings.

And perhaps he also owed her money too?

I will caveat what I just said... IF the family did this and IF they also demanded the ransom, then it's probably motivated by anger at Savannah being more wealthy and assuming that she'd pay it. That they could assault, abduct, and probably murder Nancy to achieve that is despicable to contemplate.

MOO

If, as you say, a family member did do this, then (whether they asked for the bitcoin ransom or not), I have a feeling that it will be connected to money somewhere and somehow.

For example, Nancy may have been under pressure to change her will. If one child doesn't 'need' inheritance (ie Savannah), then pressure can be put on elderly parents to leave everything to the sibling who is more in 'need'.

That may not sit well with a parent, who wants to feel they are being fair and equal.

Same! I did not think a family member would be involved.
I did. If he drove her home at 10 PM and he went back to check on her…..

I had a wierd fall a few months ago and hit my face. It caused an awful nosebleed. That's what the droplets reminded me of. (Of course there are other factors involved here) I don't think there were any fine droplets involved in my case.
Agree. My dad was on blood thinners (Plavix) for a couple of years and he would get awful nosebleeds. There would be large blood droplets on the floor and his pillowcase very similar in size to the ones seen on Nancy’s front porch.

I know my Mother has friends, I don't know who they are, or their phone numbers. Nor do they have my information. I don't have my kids friends names, or phone numbers. Nor do they know my friends or have their phone numbers.

So it just seems odd to me.
I disagree with this - my mother was a regular at church for over 50 years.. she used to sit with the same lady every week (except for pre planned holidays etc) one week my mother didn’t attend due to being in hospital and the other lady got into a panic about her.

From after that day I had her number (my mothers friends daughter also had my mothers).

It allowed us to message them if either my mother or hers wouldn’t be attending

Whoa. I have some catching up to do on this case. Not the developments I was expecting.

I had forgotten that nugget, I think it was from a banned source at the time but now it seems like it could be accurate information. The excuse that he went back to check on her is both weak and implicates him.

LE must have a reason not to have arrested him already if that's really his story, because it's a painfully rubbish tale.

Do they think he has her alive somewhere and are hoping to follow him to where she is?

Oh please be alive, Nancy! Please be found!

I found that article and thought it was from the NY Post and people were asking me for the link and I posted it I thought it strange that someone would contact people on the night of the Grammys with this info if they didn’t have a good source. Now I’ll have to find it bc I dont think the website implicated him and maybe that was just my conclusion putting it together in my mind. He was the last to see her (although people were saying they didnt read that he drove her home) and then went back to “check on her”. Id have to go back to yesterday and find the link. or I’ll search for it now.

Here it is Exclusive: Savannah Guthrie's Brother-in-Law Said to Have Been Last Person to See Her Alive, Phone and Handbag Left Behind - Showbiz411

Banned source? Was the link deleted from yesterday?

Not to be insensitive, but I hope there's a chance the husband concocted some plan on his own and Annie wasn't involved. 😞 Assuming Banfield's claim about the husband is correct.

Horrible, devastating situation regardless, but daughter choosing to do something bad to her own mother is even sadder and more unthinkable...

Maybe it’s a pipe dream though, IDK how possible it is for him to have done something to her without Annie knowing. 😕
I was trying to think about that--if she had to know or not.

If my husband snuck out while I was still asleep, I might not notice. It's possible he waited until Annie fell asleep?

I’m more curious about how this Friedman guy from the Showbiz site got this info.
LE was probably not ready to release that information about the son in law. Even TMZ didn’t have that info, and they are usually the first.

Anyone giving a ransom note if they have any brains would know that you have to prove the person is alive before collecting. I keep thinking of the Fargo movie. Not sure how anyone can pull that off unless the ransom is just a distraction to the real killer. I hope thats not the case
