I was curious what the updated number were on abductions and murders committed by family members versus others:

Kidnappings:
50% by family members
25% by acquaintances
25% strangers

Murders:
15% by family members
30% acquaintances
30% friends
10% strangers
15% misc.
Please provide a link to your research? Thank you

I wonder that too.
I do think it’s weird no other news group is covering this angle.
Weird because news groups are always fighting over news bits and to be first with something and that’s not happening.
Weird because if LE wants to fool the real bad guys into thinking LE is not on to them, why are the other news groups not playing along?
what Banfield put out is very risky and could really make her and her sources look bad.

Stop that. Why, in all my years of following true crime, did that actually very sensible idea never come to me? Now whenever someone comes to my door, I’m going to have a Sophie’s choice to make!
IAttended a safety seminar years back. The 'expert' suggested especially for women living alone: buy the LARGEST dog bowl you can find and put it out front & back your door. Burglars do NOT like dealing with dogs! Works for me :)

Interesting. That's an APS card-adult protective services card. All CPS/DPS cards look like that here. Very interesting
Hmm. It feels a little like that ship has sailed.

deleted.

The screen shot of the door with the blood near the mat also looks like there is some dried flowers there like from a wreath?

Anyone know what that is? (Sorry, the Daily Mail article picture format I cannot copy to jpg)

Yes we discussed upthread.

Thoughts were maybe roses? Like from a bunch of flowers? Or a plant in the garden disturbed.

Interesting, even TMZ wouldnt touch it
just saw on CNN sheriff and other media are strongly denying all of it

not surprising that her car is being processed, but is her car their only car?
pretty sure they have two and are seen leaving in the other car.

BBM:

"Arizona police still have no suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, despite reports that key individuals had been identified in the hunt for the missing mom of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie.

“At this time, no suspects have been identified. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results,” a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told The Post Wednesday morning."

There are still no suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, police announce
I wonder if this is semantics. A “suspect” is different from a “person of interest”, right?

EDIT: Oh, I see that the Sheriff statement says they have no identified “person of interest” either. Never mind!

Good idea! I have a dog that barks anytime someone comes to the door (or walks by the house, or parks on the street, or takes their garbage can out…) and his bark makes him sound like the abominable snowman, so that does make me feel more secure.

Anyone watching this knows that the basic info there is false.
if not confirmed we shouldn't be posting it. They aren't even named as a POI or anything.

Damage control at this point, whether it's accurate or not

Italian my bad
Yes. He is Italian.

The only Mexican link that I am aware of is that Savannah's father passed away in Mexico while on a "mining exploration project". But that was in 1988. A very long time ago.

We're not talking about a Getty kidnapping here...so large scale criminal campaign? Not buying it...
I know you didn't post it, but dailymail is a tabloid-I don't know if it's even MSM really.

I don’t know that it’s relevant, but I have not heard any mention of the dog. I believe Nancy has a dog. If the back door was in fact wide open, I wonder if the dog was still in the house when family members came to search for Nancy. I wonder this more out of curiosity than relevance. If the family came to the house, and the dog was gone, but leash was still there, that would cause initial concern.

A few thoughts:

1) IF Savannah and Ashleigh Banfield are REALLY good friends, Ashleigh better be 100% certain about the BIL as a suspect. If it turns out to be untrue, I’d say this is a great way to lose a friendship.

2) Does anyone know where Savannah is staying? I thought I read sister Annie’s house? This would make sense if they have hired security to be there.

3) If it was in fact the BIL, isn’t that a lot to do from 2am until 11am when they were back at NG’s house? Unless both sister & BIL were involved, he’d need to be back home well before anyone wakes up. And, get cleaned up. I’m not sure all of that is feasible.

4) JMO, but I think Nanos needs to simply read from a script and not take questions (at least live). I felt like the police handled it very well in Tepe murders. But, between these off-the-cuff pressers, TMZ/other reported ransoms, plus Banfield adding BIL as suspect, it’s all getting a little crazy. I hope this ends soon for all involved—NG, family and law enforcement.

Another friend of mine (CEO of a security firm), bought an electronic dog that was activated whenever the downstairs door opened...BOW WOW:) It definitely alerted you! Bought them for all his female friends...

Yes, a suspect is different than a 'person of interest'.

A 'person of interest' can be someone that might have seen or heard something, a witness with information about the crime. Not necessarily an official suspect.
It can also be someone who later becomes a suspect.

It's confusing, especially when the very first post in this thread now has a bolded caption saying who is a suspect, with a link to Banfield's video.
That is very odd. That first post on this thread is dated from Monday, well before Banfield, and when NG was first reported missing. Why has it been edited almost 2 days later with a big point headline about LE having a suspect (countered by LE at this point) and a link to Banfield video? Jmo
