Except this isn’t a competition of any sort thoughI would look at the people replacing them at the Olympics. Some People can go to all extreme to get ahead.

Decided to take a look at crypto kidnappings. Sharing this article mainly for the GitHub link contained within that has an extensive database of crypto related crimes- including kidnapping/ransoms. From what I see though, somehow it’s known the victims or family of victims have large amounts of crypto.

Brazilian Mom Held for Bitcoin Ransom After Alleged Kidnappers Stalk Crypto-Trading Son - Decrypt
A Brazilian crypto trader's mom was kidnapped until a Bitcoin ransom was paid in the latest crypto "wrench attack," local media reported.decrypt.co
There were several reports from several stations and I may have the specifics wrong since one of the below saysFor real? I'm no expert but that doesn't sound like pro kidnapper protocol at all. It sounds half-baked and flaky.

I think they just don't have enough information to verify the veracity of those notes, and are playing it safe. You cannot afford to be wrong in a situation like this.Respectfully disagree. I don't feel that law enforcement would hand out reasonable doubt to any potential defense attorney like that. If there wasn't a compelling basis to make this public plea, I don't think they would do it. Just too risky.
I also don't think they'd put out a hail Mary like that in the case that they were lost. I'm sure they are confident that the ransom demand is legitimate and likely from the abductor. Whether they think she is actually alive or not is another question altogether.
JMO.
Agree, that may be another reason why Savannah was the one reading the message, along with some other possible reasons as well (her background, etc.). Possibly the FBI and the family were trying to cover all their bases.Between reports of police having shown the letter to Savannah, hostage negotiatiors at the house, and now the video they made, I really wonder if it actually is an obsessed fan and they made a demand for savannah to make a video. Man this is so weird and heartbreaking

I think the current narrative doesn't make sense to us because maybe it's fundamentally not true in some way, or even in several ways. You make a valid point. Each of us here has followed true crime for a long time. Yet, everything in this case is something that none of us has witnessed before. It's difficult to figure it out because it just doesn't make sense.
There's calculus there. You raise the reward, you run the risk of a bunch of absolutely useless tips pouring in.Has the reward offered risen from $2500.00? Disbelief over that one.
In my observation, the reward will stay rather low until the case loses media attention. Then there will be an announcement of a increase, to keep the story active because an increase gives reporters something new to report. There's calculus there. The family isn't going to do something law enforcement is advising them not to do.
And that video tonight just sent this case into the stratosphere. In my observation, the reward will stay rather low until the case loses media attention. Then there will be an announcement of a increase, to keep the story active because an increase gives reporters something new to report.
In this case, it's not needed. It's top story.

Who was supposed to be taking her to church on Sunday? Shouldn’t it have been that person to be the first to find out Nancy was missing when they came to pick her up and she was gone? It sounds like her friends who were already at church were the ones who sounded the alarm first when she didn’t show up for church.
The one replacing SG has an exceptional career; in sports and reporting on the Olympics. It isn't a competition in an Olympic Sports sense, however, it sure could be a great career boost.
It looks just like her. There’s nothing different about her except that she has no makeup.
I didn't; realize it was SG speaking.
Yeah. MOO, if it was a family member LE would be able to discern it somewhat quickly ... sure they could damage the cameras at Nancy's, but cameras in their own neighborhood likely would've captured them leaving their home in the middle of the night. The fact that this video exists, indicates to me that law enforcement is lost. If they felt they were close to figuring out who is responsible, this would not be necessary.
Going further, if this was that particular family member who has had suspicion cast upon him, they aren't in this spot right now. This crime was sloppy, with (apparent) forced entry and blood inside and outside the home.
Blood gets on clothes. It gets in cars. Phones talk. So does surveillance.
The longer this goes on, the more likely I believe that the offender is not inside Nancy's circle.
Just to clarify - the family did not offered this reward. It is offered by 88-CRIME and is the limit of what they are allowed to offer. My understanding is that they are a non-profit group that gathers tips and turns them over to LE. It is not surprising that they have a low limit of what they can offer as a reward.Has the reward offered risen from $2500.00? Disbelief over that one.
