AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

To some just asking questions of him is being rude and aggressive. Pretty fair questions for journalists to be asking a sitting president. There are many journalists to choose from.
Nah..... she was rude. Did you happen to catch tom llamas' interview last night? His demeanor was very polite. there have been MANY SG interviews that have been down right rude. MY OPINON

ITA - I am getting a hinky feeling about this whole thing and IDK how to explain why. Her husband passed away not long ago, so if it was someone known to her, they would have been aware, making her an easy target. It wouldn't have taken much to abduct her. She was also said to have mobility issues and a pacemaker.

I despise abuse of children, animals and the elderly...the totally innocents of this crazy world.
IIRC, NG’s husband passed away from a heart attack when SG was just a teenager.

There was an interview with SG from the ‘Today Show Hometown Series’ where SG talks about how strong her mother was after her father died. The daughter’s still lived at home with mom while they were attending college and mom had to eventually push them to move out because they didn’t want to leave her. Mom and daughters are extremely close.

Does anyone know if it is Standard Operating Procedure to call out Homicide Detectives right away when an abduction has occurred?
per the Sheriff when he was talking NO not standard protocol. They seem to know what this was right away. There might have been a ransom note left.

What time is the presser today? TIA

Probably stating the obvious, but if the DM report is true that someone called to report her missing from church, and she didn't even physically go to church (and it wouldn't be noticed if she missed virtual church), then seems to me that whomever kidnapped her wanted to expedite the discovery of her missing. Which, of course, would then support a ransom demand more than a random kidnapping/murder, because most kidnappers/killers want as much time to get away with their crime as possible.

JMO.

So is your theory that it's a Trump supporter angry about some interview?

Good point here. There are cameras and license plate readers at intersections around the area. If someone called in a tip and said they saw a particular vehicle, they could feed that information into the system and come up with a license plate number of a vehicle matching the description.

My guess is that they have lots of license plate numbers to work with, and are looking in to them all.

IF it is a true kidnapping I think they took her a long way away. I think that could be why it took so long to send the ransom demand.

I am just hoping in so I don't know if this was posted about previously but is it unusual that border patrol is involved in this investigation?

Doesn’t matter IMO. Way more people are ruder to pres Trump, that would be reason 300567889 to kidnap Nancy. IMO of course.

President Trump has contacted SG to offer help.

I am very uncomfortable with rhetoric that subliminally blames SG for some perceived slights over an interview with DJT.

I understand that right now all we can do is speculate. But I refuse to entertain that SG has done anything that would inadvertently inspire some wack job to kidnap her mother as some kind of retaliatory act.

Let’s please remember that SG is a victim.

one theory is it would be a supporter of ANY of the number of interviewees she's been rude to. NOT any ONE person.

I was watching it with someone else, and I was describing what they were doing as the video was playing. I actually said “wait for it,” before they got to the direct message to the abductors.

This was a prototype of how I would do it.

You play to their emotions first, because if you do it backwards it is much less effective. This was for the abductor, not for us.
I get what you're saying but by not opening with who they were playing to, the "abductor", it felt like a long love letter to their mother and a poetry reading by AG.

To me the urgency of her missing and their willingness to negotiate was not center stage which was the purpose.
I gather the"abductor" already knows all about how NG is loved by all and her wonderful qualities from the media.
imo

I can only think of one recent case where politics played a part in a murder.

The female judge who had ruled on a case many years ago was targeted at her home. The perp came to the front door and killed her son and injured her husband. He meant to kill her. I’m sorry I don’t recall her name but she did speak about it with various networks.
oh no... there's been another more recent murder that was politically motivated. just last september. i'm sure there's others... but that's the most recent that i'm aware of.

Right? But that would be a different phone call, wouldn't it? "Hi, I couldn't reach Nancy after livestreaming service for our usual discussion." That would very different from, "Nancy missed church." Who knows what was actually said, though.
This phone call to Annie is a bit odd. If this friend from church was concerned enough over NG not in attendance, why didn't he/she go over to the house themselves? It seems to me that this person who had Annie's phone number must also be quite a good friend.

Had they gone to NG's home, they would have seen the blood outside the front door and called the police themselves.

Maybe it's nothing, but it seems a bit odd in an already odd case.

Agree. I posted the same thing the other day. I believe it was a ruse to call attention to the fact that she was "missing", otherwise, how and when would someone (family, neighbors) know that she was gone??

This is what I'm thinking, and because the perpetrator(s) didn't get media attention right away regarding the note, they took it upon themselves to submit the note to TMZ and news organizations.

Maybe the person is also elderly. Maybe they thought NG was sick. There could be many different reasons they didn’t go themselves.
