LE stated they’ve checked cameras around the neighborhood; assumption on my part they’re checking cell signals bouncing off nearby cell towers ~ similar to the Utah 4.

Someone in this chat mentioned that Nancy Guthrie was on her daughters show two months ago; and LE was interested in specific fans….

Good point here. There are cameras and license plate readers at intersections around the area. If someone called in a tip and said they saw a particular vehicle, they could feed that information into the system and come up with a license plate number of a vehicle matching the description.

My guess is that they have lots of license plate numbers to work with, and are looking in to them all.

She left the home in a vehicle. Although her neighborhood doesn't have cameras, the roads that ring it have traffic cams, ATMs, gas stations, banks, and other businesses facing the roads. I 10 has overhead gantry cams everywhere. U of A has cameras all over campus roads.

There was a vehicle that passed by at least 1 of them sometime between 12am and 4am that night, LE just needs to find it.

Asking challenging questions, pressing for clarity, and holding people accountable is a journalist’s job. It doesn’t mean they’re expressing personal political beliefs. SG has never publicly stated her own political views, and no source has been cited showing otherwise.

Inferring ideology from how someone does their job (or from watching a morning show) isn’t the same as evidence. And while anything is theoretically possible, there’s nothing in the facts we have so far that points to this being politically motivated. Jumping there feels unfair to her.

Usually, a patrol unit is dispatched to take the initial report on a 911 call. The responding officer makes an assessment when they arrive on scene. Sometimes they will call a supervisor to determine if other specialized units should respond. A lot also depends on the information provided to the 911 operator on the initial call.
Depending on the size of the Department, some LE personnel wear many hats.
FYI the Pima County Sheriff’s Office has about 515 officers.

This phone call to Annie is a bit odd. If this friend from church was concerned enough over NG not in attendance, why didn't he/she go over to the house themselves? It seems to me that this person who had Annie's phone number must also be quite a good friend.

Had they gone to NG's home, they would have seen the blood outside the front door and called the police themselves.

Maybe it's nothing, but it seems a bit odd in an already odd case.

MOO they knew the family members, to the point they had a phone number to call. They also knew or presumed that upon arriving, whoever went would need to have a means to access the home and/or call for help if needed from authorities or EMS

ETA when an elderly person with mobility issues doesn't show up somewhere you think medical emergency, not abduction.

I get what you're saying but by not opening with who they were playing to, the "abductor", it felt like a long love letter to their mother and a poetry reading by AG.

To me the urgency of her missing and their willingness to negotiate was not center stage which was the purpose.

The goal is to humanize Nancy bc a kidnapper may see Nancy as a means to an end. That what happens to her is collateral damage. They needed to talk about who their mother is as a person because sometimes, kidnappers can feel guilty and start to take their guard down with victims.

Where a kidnapper may see a vulnerable old lady they can use to get what they want (money, attention, retribution, whatever) her children want to make sure the kidnapper realizes that their victim is a person just living their life with many people who care about them, and much more than a bargaining chip. I think they stressed the urgency of the situation well enough, and no doubt LE guided them in their plea.

I can only think of one recent case where politics played a part in a murder.

The female judge who had ruled on a case many years ago was targeted at her home. The perp came to the front door and killed her son and injured her husband. He meant to kill her. I’m sorry I don’t recall her name but she did speak about it with various networks.

oh no... there's been another more recent murder that was politically motivated. just last september. i'm sure there's others... but that's the most recent that i'm aware of.

I have read a few reports across the country of people posing as delivery drivers, breaking in and assaulting or killing the homeowners—in an effort to extort money (sometimes cryptocurrency) from the victims. One most recently in Arizona on Saturday morning, where two teenage boys were arrested.

Has any of this been discussed as a possible option? I believe a lot of the others happened during the day, but I suppose could be at night too. This almost seems more likely than the SIL. And, could also explain why FBI and so many other agencies were quickly involved in investigation.

The neighborhood is so beautiful with the native landscape but it’s rocky with sticky, scrubby plants.

I think if that was the case of a wandering they would have found her pretty quickly caught up in the vegetation.

I'm wondering if this friend didn't want to go to NG's house themselves because they didn't want to offend NG. You know, since she's elderly, it would definitely be concerning if NG broke routine. But a lot of times the elderly don't appreciate being "checked on" when breaking routine when, say, if a person 20 years younger did a similar action it would not raise alarm bells. Does that make sense? Maybe that's why the friend chose to phone the daughter, instead. I've had my mom's friends call me for that same reason, out of concern, because they felt awkward talking directly to my mom. My mom is 77. Circumstances are a tad different because Mom has cognitive decline, but I think the premise is the same (not wanting to offend NG).

My grandparents were friends with a lot of other elderly people from their church. They would go out to lunch, celebrate birthdays, and most importantly keep an eye on each other.

They would also joke that they would call family/911 if someone didn't show up or contact them each week. It was lighthearted, but also very true. A lot of them lived alone and church was their only regular outing. All of them were aware that the group would probably end up having to make some calls, which they did.

All that to say that IME, even if there wasn't some sort of agreement in place to call AG, elderly folks tend to look out for each other and worry when someone deviates from their routine. I think this was the situation with NG and her church friends and what led to her friend calling AG.

If it is an elaborate kidnapping for ransom, it is doubtful that the vehicle used will lead back to a perpetrator. If it is a crime of passion or opportunity, then that likelihood would certainly increase.

I am very uncomfortable with rhetoric that subliminally blames SG for some perceived slights over an interview with DJT.

I understand that right now all we can do is speculate. But I refuse to entertain that SG has done anything that would inadvertently inspire some wack job to kidnap her mother as some kind of retaliatory act.

Let’s please remember that SG is a victim.

harm has been done to people in the past because of family members actions/beliefs so this is nothing new.

no one is directly blaming SG for NG's disappearance. and never did i day i thought it was because or ONE interview. i've said for years i thought SG was a rude interviewer.... IN MY OPINION.
