This may be a dumb question, but what does it mean by doorbell cam goes offline? Is that the point it was disconnected from wall? If so, how did it detect motion at 2:12?

The good news is that if someone did enter through the garage (and therefore presumably had a remote or the code), police should know about that. We now know that they have precise times that the garage door was opened and closed when NG was dropped off. I'd think they'd also be able to confirm if the door had been opened or closed in the 1-4am timeframe.

The wording of "doorbell camera disconnects" is interesting - to me it sounds like someone accessing an app and "removing" a camera. If the doorbell camera was disconnected from an account, I don't think it would still send a notification to NG at 2:12 (assuming that her phone notifications are what allowed police to see that motion had been detected).

Does Nest allow you to have multiple user accounts connected to the same camera? i.e. did all the kids sign in to Nancy's Nest account from their own phones to view her cameras, or did they have their own accounts that allowed them access to the same cameras?

Asking because I see at least two possibilities here:
1. Someone with access to the Nest app "removed" the doorbell camera from the system, but, for whatever reason, Nancy's phone didn't sync OR the perp removed it from their own account/the account they had access to but not from Nancy's, meaning that it still alerted her to motion as usual (even though the footage was inaccessible due to time limitations)
2. The doorbell camera was truly deactivated when it was removed at 1:47 and the motion alert at 2:12 was a different indoor camera or motion sensor, possibly from a different brand. In that scenario, I'd think there would be many more motion alerts that police didn't reveal.

Overall, I'm really really hoping that the police do in fact have MUCH more information than they're letting on. If that is true, it gives me hope that NG is alive and LE is stepping carefully/biding their time to maximize the chances of bringing her back. The drawn out investigation and limited details despite extreme manpower gives me the impression that the Sheriff and his office may have been asked to divert attention while the FBI and ICAC move in relative silence to find NG.

To me it sounded like a doorbell beïng unwired (is that a word?): pulled or broken off the wall. Most of them have a build in battery, so it continues to work…

For instance: there’s smth wrong with my wires (Ring), and i need to charge mine every x-months. I take it off the wall , put it on the counter camera-down & charge.
When i’m done charging & pick it up i forget it’s on & get a notification of movement (it films my feet or my chin ).

So possibly: removed off wall, fell or put somewhere & kicked/moved it (unknowingly perhaps) later on.

I tend to agree with you regarding LE has more, and hopefully more about the vehicle.
(Remember the walking perp grainy video in the Tepe case?? We knew they had more video showing that perp getting into a vehicle--but would not show us)

However, these houses seem to be set back quite a distance from the road, so even ring cameras may not have picked up anything on the road.

To me it seems to be someone familiar at least with her house simply because the locations of the camera's were known (and disabled?)
Also, why with a SA would they take her from the house? Is that something that happens often? Idk, seems a lot of trouble to go through. SA usually the perp is not this calculated or savvy IMO.

Everyone is assuming the camera locations were known. One was at the door so obvious and easy to spot. The other disconnected after 20 minutes or so. Doesn't strike me as a planned removal of both cameras before doing anything else, more like "yeah, the one at the door, obviously" and after a longer while "there's one here too [BAM!]"

I wonder whether there were also alarms/ door recorders? If they know the time the garage doors opened and closed, I wonder whether other door or windows would also be recorded?
