It's troubling that for such an urgent, allegedly kidnap-for-ransom scenario, this case is dragging on and seems always to become stagnant.

I guess I expected to wake up this morning to a big break and am baffled to see once again the same going in circles.

I hope there will be a break soon.
It does make me wonder if the FBI is interrogating family members right now, hoping to get specific information as to where she is. Of course they'd have to get a confession to get that location, and who wants to admit that while your whole family's around? If they arrest immediately, the perps will lawyer up and they will be no closer to finding Nancy (who is likely deceased at this point).

T actually spoke to Savannah Wednesday and he gave her the fbi/doj resources etc - so in this case I suspect he knows quite a bit - .

"In a post on Truth Social late Wednesday, Trump said: "I spoke with Savannah Guthrie, and let her know that I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family’s, and Local Law Enforcement’s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY."

"We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely," the president added. "The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!"

jmo
again, he gives incorrect info frequently on many topics. He cannot be verified as an accurate source IMO.

Tommaso drove Nancy home per New York Times interview with Sheriff Nanos

"After dinner and games, Mr. Cioni drove Ms. Guthrie home, and the garage door at her home opened at around 9:48 p.m., Sheriff Nanos said. That door closed at 9:50 p.m."
I just don't see NG walking into her home and getting inside in the matter of two minutes unless she was using a "hurry cane," and Tommaso dropped her off and peeled wheels out of there...

IOW, this just doesn't make common sense to me. Anyone--unless you hate your MIL--is respectful and helpful. You are going to stop the car, open the garage door, walk her in at her pace, open the other door leading to the home (which might require a key??), go inside with her, ask her if there is anything that you can do for her before you leave...All that requires more than two minutes.

JMO.

I cannot think of any. The last time I recall a high-profile case thst even mentioned the word ransom was JonBennet. The last time I recall hearing of a kidnapper and a purported "white van" in the area was Laci Peterson. And we know how those turned out. Not many of these "weird" cases have happy endings.
Frank Sinatra Jr.......only one I know of.

I find timelines to be very helpful (especially in a case like this where there are a lot of moving parts and lots of speculation) so I spent a while putting together a timeline (side note: I did not use AI to research or assemble this, just a bunch of my time and brainpower!). If I missed anything, please let me know!

All times are in MST unless otherwise indicated. Sources are listed in parenthesis – when possible, information is from LE, either Sheriff Nanos or FBI Special Agent in Charge Heith Janke.

Regardless of one's thoughts on him or this particular action, he did facilitate the cherry picking of the president of a 1st world Western nation out of his own palace in the middle of the night, and in just an hour or two, so I'd prefer to think that any perceived grandstanding by him can generally be backed up, and that any resources he has authorized in this case will be similarly utilized and ultimately prove fruitful.

JMO.
He also knew with 100% certainty who he was going after. That is not the case here. Anyway, I’m moving on and ignoring him as usual. Of course he would take credit if NG is found safe. IMHO

with that light ordinance I am guessing any lighting would be very very subtle and not a major flood light etc. It is very dark out there at night and probably a front door light might not be allowed. I would hate that.
We have that ordinance too. Lights can be used if you are outside, and all lights are down lights, no up lights, spotlights. .

As a true crime writer, not a case insider. It's different. And until we get clarification, I'm waiting on sources to support anything she's said, like any regular poster.

This case has so many twists and turns —and I just have to say that I found the repost and the question a little weird (sorry AJ). Why check back later? Could this be a veiled communication. For someone? Prob reading more onto the post —and repost (which is what caught my eye) but why ask that question twice and then come back later? What are you waiting to see?

Thanks for clarifying the difference. That is what I was trying to find out. I'll wait for sources and hold off on assuming accuracy of the info at this point.

I would never pay the ransom without proof of life. Esp. In a case this high-profile. We already found one scammer. And, without proof of life, I don’t have alot of confidence that an 84 year old who lost blood and hasn’t had her meds in a week is alive.
I think she could still be alive, but agree not to entertain paying ransom without proof.

If Mrs. Guthrie had not turned up missing maybe but under the circumstances the blood appears to be evidence.

I think the family is wise to not touch the property even after release. For example not cleaning the blood, or staying in the home or even the guest house, not gathering there for any reason, until there is some resolution, imo.

If the blood was from a previous incident considering her home appears to be well kept I think it would have been cleaned up pretty quickly by either Mrs Guthrie, if we are to believe she’s fully able of taking care of her tasks, a house keeper, or her daughter who I presume would have been told I had a bloody spell on the front porch I got it stopped but it’s a mess out there.

The front door is used as evidenced by the package.

Also neighbors or friends stopping by she wouldn’t want blood and lots of it out there since she seemed tidy.

I am realizing that many aren’t as involved with their moms like me; we’ve always hung out a lot.

So maybe the routine was the partner drops her off late in the deep dark night and is on his way without a second thought as many seem to think that not unusual.

It may be they are just not that close or involved in her life or don’t want to start any time consuming habits of assistance.

All imo
that doesn't mean NG used that door other than to retrieve packages..... IMO

I agree, just surprised, He is chiming in on details. Wonder what the FBI think, I’m sure they have told him what not to say!
Yes, he loves the attention and spotlight!
And he should not be looked at as a RELIABLE source here one would think...

  • #8,918

True, he is not a verified source, good point.

Fair enough, I just hope any bloviating is true in this instance, because that would mean they are close to getting to the bottom of this awful situation.

Maybe the ransomer hasn't provided proof of life because it's not possible.

A ransomer who is willing to abduct a victim might be willing to collect a ransom without ever intending to return the victim.

It's not a movie.

JMO
Speaking of scruples, I dont see a kidnapper running errands to pick up prescriptions or let someone pack a bag with them. Your post reminded me of this thought I've been having. JMO
