would like to hear the sheriff say she is alive. That seems odd as he is always careful to just say she will be found.

Reporting from Pima County, Arizona

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos believes Nancy Guthrie is still alive as the search for her has dragged into its sixth day.

"What I believe is that Nancy was removed from her home against her will, and that we need to find her. That’s what I believe. She’s still alive," he said this afternoon. "I believe that I have no choice until something shows me, a piece of physical evidence shows me that that’s different."

He noted that authorities have completed their talks, at least for now, with staff employed at the house.

"I think there was a landscape crew, a pool maintenance crew, naturally the Uber driver, maybe a housekeeper. I think they have pretty much completed that. We’ve talked. They’ve all been very cooperative. They provided certain information that was helpful to us," he said.

Anyone think that this whole thing is too much work for people to make money? If they are such criminal masterminds couldn't they have found another rich person (maybe even a non celeb without the connections SG has)who has a beloved family member that wouldn't be such hard work like NG? I am starting to think like some of you that the ransom note and all that "noise" is just to try to keep out of jail as long as possibly and they know they are cooked.
Exactly.

I've never lived in a place with an HOA, but know people who do. They can be helpful, but sometimes not. It's one thing to make sure your yard looks nice or you aren't parking cars all over the street, but these days people want security and safety
The HOA here is concerned about upkeep and appearances only. The dues are minimal and the HOA mostly only sends letters about taking down campaign signs after an election and making sure you hide your garbage cans behind a wall.

Well, we are using an old photo that was taken ~four days ago. It was taken after LE released the home as a crime scene back to the family. (This earlier photo does not show a package on the porch.) As to why police didn’t take them into evidence… we don’t know they didn’t. Are the still on the porch? I’m guessing the uprooted plants were at least photographed, as the blood droplets were tested and did receive attention from investigators.

I beg to respectfully differ that they are sagebrush. Other Websleuths have identified the plant as lantana. There are live lantana plants just a couple of feet away from the doormat, edging the walkway. The plant pieces on the doormat are dried up, but you can still see the flowers on the stems.
And yet it shows the business card in the window. Have we already discussed if that was there from the beginning? It was there when Brian Entin posted his first door/blood video. I don’t recall (not that I’ve read every page) it being discussed here. Shut me down if it has (and provide a synopsis haha).

He has to. It keeps the public engaged and looking for her. I think we all know that the possibility of her being alive is almost impossible at this point, but we have to hang on to the tiniest possibility that she is still with us. I can't fathom the depth of pain that SG must be experiencing.

And that leads me to ponder whether that is exactly what this is all about - creating pain and punishing SG? Did she become the object of some demented mind that wants to punish her for "rejecting" them by not responding to fan letters or something? There are some very unbalanced minds out there. Hopefully LE is looking at this angle.

Amateur opinion and speculation
I've been thinking about this SG angle all morning. Whoever this is isn’t targeting Savannah technically. This whole family is being literally tortured. It may well lead to "Savannah is loaded" but they're all paying a very traumatic price. Has anyone wondered if someone is out there with a grudge against all of them?

I don’t believe he has. I’m waiting for a link. His last interview he was asked that and he didn’t say it outright in fact he said he fears she is dead, but until we know operate as if she is alive.
Asked whether he feared she was dead, Nanos acknowledged he did, but added, "We operate from a position that until we know, she's out there, she's alive, and we're going to continue thinking that way until we find her."

The way our HOA describes the dark sky ordinance is that the low light allows animals to travel to and fro more freely in their natural habitat. We have rabbits, deer, some elk, coyotes, owls, etc. The name "dark sky" has nothing to do with being able to stargaze or not annoying your neighbors. At least that is how or HOA explains it to us!
This is not the case here. There are astronomical observatories that bring in millions and have made huge discoveries. The restrictions around outdoor lighting are Pima County ordnances, not from the HOA.

If it's about SG the rest is just collateral, imo

yes that is what he said and that is far f rom making a statement that he knows she is alive.

Makes total sense! I am just in Idaho in the foothills!

question: are you saying you live in the neighborhood and there is a HOA. I got the vibe that this is not an official association but group of neighbors. that organize things but not the kind you pay dues etc. Correct me if that is wrong. As mentioned it is Pima county with the rules about lighting.

Is that your opinion or do you know she has 500K in CDs and and a 1 million life insurance policy?

I'm fairly middle class and financially secure. But wow. I'm sitting here thinking about things like property taxes, homeowners insurance, utilities, groundskeepers, etc. Thats an outlay. JMO
No I dont know, i was asked to speculate as to why some folks assumed she was worth millions. I was trying to show how someone who is 84 could easily be worth at least 2 million with a home worth 1.2 million. Thats all..not about her. About a concept that was posed to the group. Just offering an idea of how people could form that opinion as we all explore what angle any motive could be outside of SG wealth. Its not at all unreasonable to assume a lady living alone in a house valued at 1.2 million, for example may hold a net worth or assets

I’ve viewed the doormat stems as either debris caused by LE and K9 foot traffic entering an exiting the property or a blowing wind/breeze that pushed them up to the door entrance. I imagine NG has weekly landscaping service that at the very least includes a “mow and blow”?
