I'm sorry, someone told her that and she reported it , because she is very scoop motivated and an inquisitive journalist.
so she reported something from a "reliable " source. This is absolutely NOT the end of her career and also it is obvious in an investigation like this that the last person to see the victim alive is often the first suspect to be looked at followed by family, husbands etc...you may not like a sensationalist approach to journalism but..

she did nothing wrong.

mOO
Ehhhh. She said herself “I’ve been at this for 38 years do you think I would throw it away for one story?”

She knows the stakes here. She is very much on an island right now, no one has joined her, and she has not budged over 3 days she continues to double down. If she’s right she deserves credit and if she’s wrong she deserved to get cooked and own it. It will be very damning to her reputation if she’s wrong, as it should be. The stakes are high and they should be, millions of people are paying attention to this. SIL would probably sue her too if he was never truly a suspect.

This is very very interesting.....
Do we know WHICH neighbor was discussing the newish look to Nancy's roof? yesterday????
I wonder if it was a totally different neighbor or the same family (right across the street) who own the roofing company.

moo.
Or…the name of the company that did the work

I theorized that Nancy could have been transported in her vehicle (alive or deceased).

However, we only know of the one opening and shutting of the garage that evening around 10 p.m. when the SIL allegedly dropped Nancy off which leads credence to that story.

If there wasn't more opening/shutting of the garage there is no way that car could have gotten back in to the garage, unless it was taken out at 9:48 p.m. and not returned until the next morning before LE was contacted. And that would be HIGHLY suspicious.

I am still on the fence.
Could be it was opened and closed at other times, but hasn’t been shared publicly.

If the SIL isn’t involved, AB will be in a boatload of trouble, career wise, reputation and financially. She would have to believe without any doubt, what she was told is the absolute truth. She cannot backpedal because of the harm caused emotionally, financially, mentally, physically, spiritually. Her own security could be compromised.
In my opinion no she won't. Yeah she might lose a little popularity points but she carefully phrased it as "MAY be a prime suspect AT THIS TIME". That statement may be true based on technicalities. Before any leads LE most likely looked at the family first then ruled them out and followed other clues.

Interesting "between the two Guthrie homes". Why not "around Nancy's home" unless both homes are involved in some way? MOO

Has the description been released?
Makes me wonder more about being followed/stalking her movements

That's interesting that a neighbor who had been watching some drone search footage noticed that NG's roof looked pretty clean and that she told LE that she thought NG had resurfaced her roof lately and that maybe they should look into the people who redid the roof. Just as a possibility, since LE were asking about any work that may have been done on her property lately. Very observant neighbor and trying to help find NG.

So we either have:

1) someone in the family, most likely SIL and/or Annie motivated by some kind of financial gain that they hoped to gain from her passing, and the ransom stuff is just someone trying to capitalize on the situation. Or I suppose the responsible family member(s) could have orchestrated the ransom hoax as a distraction.

2) an actual professional kidnapper who has experience doing this and saw NG as a good target (at least in part because SG wealth).

3) someone not in the inner circle, but someone who is familiar with NG and her house and was in her extended circle somehow. Either a lawn guy, an electrician, a pool guy, etc. that knew who she was, knew who her daughter was, and hatched some half baked plan to either rob her, kidnap her, murder her, etc and then sloppily executed it. The motive here would be money as well in the form of ransom.

4) some deranged politically motivated person who disagreed with SG or felt slighted by SG somehow and was interpreting her on TV from his basement and decided to lash out in this way. Similar to a politically motivated mass shooter or incel type.

5) I hesitate to even write this, but a sexually motivated rapist, murderer, kidnapper who saw her, stalker her and executed a plan on her that night. You wouldn’t think that this would happen to an 84 yo but sadly it does.

Taking everything we know currently into account, I would rank them 1,3,4,2,5.

What say you, WS?

I’ll take door number 3.
I have a hard time imagining a family member hurting her…I know it happens, but my brain can’t process it.
The kidnapping scenario seems to be superficially implemented.
Number 3 for me.

Thank you for your explanation, it’s helpful to hear another persons perspective.

Based on her landscape, I don't know if it was weekly. It looks like she has astroturf in the back. Hence there is no mowing. We don't mow very often at our house. We have turf on the side, but it grows really slow because we're always under water restrictions. We do everything ourselves, which is a hedge trimmer no more than twice a year. (We cut our mowing to once a month due to a three year drought) However, some xeriscapes are trimmed more frequently to keep them looky tidy. The fact that her lantana is short indicates that she may have quarterly timming. But I think weekly would really be too much for a natural style landscape.
Correct. We’ve never had a landscaper at our house. These neighborhoods prioritize natural desert plants and they don’t require as much upkeep as a yard would back east.

The thought that NG was murdered to get to the funds in her estate seems poorly thought out, especially if there is this complicated ruse to make this look like a kidnap for ransom. Having recently been through the death of my mother and the settlement of her estate, it takes YEARS to get the full funds disbursement, even with very the very good planning my late mother had done.

Assuming the home is NG's primary asset, selling it can be quite a long process, and usually a good realtor will recommend upgrades to bring the property up to date, improve it's appearance, and make it competitive in a market. People who are buying $1 million + homes do expect contemporary styling, appliances, and features and you can really lose out by just trying for a quick sale. I suppose it also depends on who really ends up with control of the estate, and my guess would be that SG would have more authority in terms of organizing the settlement of the full estate, and the three apparent heirs.

In otherwords, murdering NG to get a lot of money is not a quick and easy way to get money.

I think MK is the worst offender. She has been covering this story relentlessly

I'd add that it is possible AB is completely correct, but the "noise" and stories about the Guthrie family considering legal action is because she has prejudiced the live investigation by leaking this information.
Who is MK? Marie Kondo?
