I was already thinking DJT maybe already DID pay it, and they are not telling.
I think it would not be permitted for third parties to finance a ransom, especially not the President. Presumably it would open up the third party to persistent blackmail and extortion in the future, and might even harm the family's chances as it might escalate the negotiation ("oh, I might try my luck for 1 billion dollars in that case"). Just my opinion.

I believe also Pacemakers "disconnect" once there is no detectable heart rhythm. Although this may have moved on in the
past 10 years since my personal knowledge of one, especially now that there are apps. Grandpa had one that was wifi connected to some phone type alarm thing his sons end, it stopped transmitting once and we found him completely alive and fairly perplexed, one of the wires had come loose, he wouldn't have been well in a few hours though id guess.

First of all, I want to apologize for jumping the gun regarding the white van being found. I got that tip from a valued source this morning, but all these hours later, I went back to my source and the tip was walked back. Unfortunately, there's been a bungled investigation, calling to mind "shades of Jon Benet Ramsey" where misinformation ran rampant. In fact, it seems Donald Trump was also jumping the gun yesterday when he suggested that information from the FBI or DOJ "could come out soon," hinting that a suspect had been identified. That comment was made over 18 hours ago, with no follow up -- yet. All of this leaves us in the dark, hoping that sophisticated FBI devices will be able to identify Nancy's abductor.

LET ME ADD THIS: Savannah is a person of faith who has total belief in the power of prayer. In fact, in 2024, she published a bestseller titled "Mostly What God Does," describing how her faith helped her during the most difficult times in her life. OF COURSE she and her family are praying and believing that Nancy is alive, and why would anyone want to squelch that hope?

At the same time, the intense focus on this case, fueled by the combination of celebrity, crime, and mystery, has become a national obsession. We have not seen this much media coverage since the O.J. Simpson case, and it makes sense that the public wants to help. There ARE signs of forced entry into that house, and many of Nancy's neighbors fear there's a killer on the loose, so as websleuths, we need to stay diligent and keep our ears and eyes open. If any one of us stumbles on a new fact, or are able to interpret the few clues we now have, please report it to authorities. And meantime, LET US PRAY.
I appreciate your return and informing us what happened with your source and the white van.

<modsnip:this was accurate but unnecessary >

I've criticized Sheriff Nanos numerous times for being unprofessional, too emotionally invested and it was good news that he's not doing any more interviews so we don't have to wait for him to walk back his statements.

Ashleigh Banfield?
She's extremely confident in her source and isn't backing down even after taking a lot of blow-back.
There's no comparison though because she's pointed at a family member as a "maybe" suspect not a white van being found or Trump will have great news forthcoming.

I like AB and for her sake and reputation I would usually want her source to be correct but not being able to begin to imagine the devastation it would do to SG- siblings-family on top of what has happened to their mother I hope AB is wrong.

Welcome to Websleuths.

You know she is. My sister is an attorney and of course she was my dad's executor, despite me being the oldest and having a degree in finance and working on PhD in cybersecurity. That law degree is going to trump out just about anything! Lol!!
being the executor is really no big deal. Mostly sign things and trust the lawyers and accountants know what they are doing.

It never crossed my mind until now... I want to say I hope so, but if he did and she has not been returned, then I hope not.

That’s another clickbait headline, it essentially means the gas station between the two homes.

Wow! The most important information here is that they are canvassing the area between the two houses.

That may be true; however, it's interesting that they're canvassing the area between the two Guthrie homes.

Maybe Sheriff Nanos wasn't incompetent after all. Maybe witnesses were changing their stories.

Exactly that makes sense, both cars, the Uber will shown on many different cameras. Including neighbors cameras and any other cars that have cameras in their cars. It was shared earlier today that FBI involvement is due to crossing state lines, death or both. They’re looking and I hope they will be able to recover N soon.

Either it's a standard script that FBI uses for this situation, which the writers of Silence of the Lambs used for accuracy, or maybe Annie the writer of the family (with a seemingly morbid imagination, given descriptions of her poetry) was selected by the family to write the statement, and she quoted the movie deliberately.

Just me, but I wouldn't be playing games and getting too cutesy with my mom’s life.

I’m sure that LE and/or FBI did some kind of cell phone dump too — where they can tell what devices are in the area, and when. I’m hoping something like that would get them information on maybe out of character devices in the last few weeks or even months. It’s take a long time to go through all that information. I hope that the criminal is nice and stupid!

Now I'm thinking about the AG home. I don't recall if LE took evidence from their home? Did AG just allow it, or was there a warrant? They would likely have a security system too? Could be helpful in proof of timeline - when NG left the home and the driver returned. Do they have a cloud subscription? This could rule them out and quash rumors. Unless they're connected to perp and there was a conspiracy? If someone was falsely accusing me of a crime (even a strong implication that I was a "prime suspect"), I would consult with my attorney and publicly deny any part of a vicious implication that I was involved in a crime like this. I wouldn't want any time wasted focusing on me. They would not need a warrant for my car or home. Unless my lawyer strongly advised me not to.
Good point about them possibly having cloud. I'm not an expert on technical issues but surely someone can answer these questions...

If they had ring cameras it would definitely prove the uber account, and how and when she went home.

If AC and SIL had their own security system it would back their story. It could tell the police when it was started and stopped at any time. Cameras would show anyone leaving that house that night Unless turned off, am I right?

Sorry, I'm not a good at writing or technology.

They should probably pay it. Hell, NBC should secretly pay it. NG comes back, SG comes back, Today Show ratings go through the roof. I don't mean to be flip. Just that, they have the means, at this point, do you just take your chances. The DT comment about "a solution" was an odd choice of words, but who knows, he likes saying words. It actually did make me think for the first time that Nancy could still be alive. I don't know. This whole case is off the rails. We may never know.
Someone could have paid it and not releasing that information to the public.

I have said that for days!!

Putting speculation aside, this really doesn’t make sense operationally. Introducing a high-profile third party into an active ransom situation would almost certainly worsen things, not resolve them.

If a perpetrator believed a billionaire / president had become involved, demands would likely escalate, timelines would change, and negotiations could become performative rather than controlled. That is precisely what professional negotiators try to avoid.

It would also expose the Guthrie family to long-term risk; once it’s known that an outside benefactor will step in, you incentivise repeat extortion, hoaxes, and future blackmail. It is one of the main reasons why third-party intervention is discouraged.

I would think maybe SG is too busy and lives too far to be trustee. It could be a family lawyer or bank trust company to have a professional and neutral trustee. Especially if NG gets money from it to live on and for healthcare needs, I think someone local and with more time would need to manage and disburse money. But yes I'd also assume SG is not standing to get much money upon NG's passing. Jmo.
was talking about executor of the estate.....as for trustees who knows.

I am NOT Bitcoin savvy at all. I spent 10 minutes or so reading up on it. Bitcoin seems so risky and volatile. If I was demanding ransom, I wouldn't ask for Bitcoin. JMO

amusing idea but. DJT not paying any ransom as sitting president of the US.
