My make-believe detective self would love for the siblings video to be a massive decoy that was just made as a distraction while the FBI gets what they need to make an arrest. I can see them disclosing the decoy just to SG. Rambling thoughts…

At the 2nd presser LE firmly said that no one in the family was a suspect. The next day a journalist asked him about TC, he said that they were looking at everyone.

Shifting statements.
Yes, shifting!! This is hypothetical and crazy BUT...What if the ransom scheme is a secret diversional ploy by LE to flush out the real perp? Like maybe LE thinks it IS a fam member who has done this for financial gain/insurance, etc. and this phony ransom scheme was thrown in to flush them out. Maybe they're (the perp) getting a little twitchy worrying if the sibs use any of NG's money/assets toward paying a fake ransom scheme then there won't be any money left to really collect from her estate after they find her deceased?

Sounds outlandish ofc and this would be door #5 in reality lol but this entire situation is just 😳 so anything is possible at this point! Praying NG is still alive and in a hotel/motel room somewhere and they give up her location when they receive the bitcoin!

I had that thought too. That they now know she is dead and they want to simply bring her home. But the "celebrate with her" seemed to suggest she is still alive. So I concluded the family have received a threat to NG's life and are now resigned to paying whatever amount is being demanded. But then the "this is very valuable to us" is a very odd thing to say about a live person being returned :(
As a Christian, a funeral is often called a "celebration of life" and "the only way we will have peace" may mean "closure" - at least they will have their Mother home, properly buried; rather than always being tortured by "where is she". Just my opinions fwiw.

Here's the Harvey Levin interview:

Excellent interview, thank you for posting. No matter what some people think of Harvey Levin, he has seen the first ransom communication, we haven't. And based on that, he has some good information to share. The last statement of his interview is very concerning, and relates to the Monday deadline stated in the ransom note.

JMO - I'm trying to read the body language in the video without sound and i know i will get so much hate for this but am i the only one thinking AG is trying to push some tears out in a very unnatural way?
I know everyone reacts differently in these situations and they must be exhausted but i just noticed this and wondered if anyone saw this too or if it's just me imagining things.
Idk what to think anymore, the whole thing is so confusing and all i hope is that Nancy comes home 🙏🏻
No.

I didn’t see that. Instead I saw what I’m pretty sure I look like when experiencing intense grief and trying to get my emotions back under control.

I sincerely hope it’s not grief at having lost her mum, but instead all the overwhelming emotions of what the family are going through, and that Nancy is ok

Absolutely. It’s clear they were told she’s dead, and now she’s saying they’ll pay for the body.
If the kidnappers gave that information away, they are utter idiots. The smart thing to do would have been to keep quiet on the death and just insist on payment for Nancy's return, then just disappear with the ransom and leave the Guthries with nothing.

"This" is very valuable to us.
This as in laying Nancy to rest, and being able to honor and visit her, bring her flowers, speak to her.

I hope I'm wrong in my interpretation of the words SG said.
But "celebrate with us"? Idk, i'm not American so i'm not familiar with using celebration in combination with a deceased family member. Is this something common in US?

They are people of very strong faith, they may mean celebrate her life, or celebrate her reunion with God, as Christians believe happen when you die and go to heaven. If so, heart breaking because they should be celebrating her birthday.

I've never followed a case this complex, but I have followed countless cases. In doing so, it's easy for me to gauge where law enforcement is with an investigation.

Not only am I not seeing an indication that they are lost, but I'm seeing the opposite. We're not seeing all the things we usually see when that's the case.

Press conferences have become more sporadic, no regular press releases, and they're not asking for tips about vehicles or persons of interest.

I see a focused homicide case.

Mass Guy, you have an excellent track record with crime cases, and I'm so glad to hear you say this. I agree with you that it's a complex case and that she likely didn't leave the house alive. If she did leave the house alive, I cannot fathom NG being alive at this point. And I hope we're wrong. MO

I saw a lot of pain, shock, and numbness. I’m sure she has read enough to know some people consider or or her husband as guilty

I am of the firm belief after watching that video that if in fact the ransom notes are from those who have NG that she is deceased and the note yesterday informed the kids of that. I’m now thinking that’s what the “very sensitive information” was that the lady from the news station said was in the note yesterday. I think they broke their no more communication rule to inform the family that they can’t in fact provide proof of life like they requested but they still want the money anyway for her return. So sad.

I think NG could still be alive despite the defeat on the kids' faces. Even if she's returned alive, they're not out of the woods unless the FBI/police actually catch the person who did it. And even then, how do you recover from this?

They might have more information about the motive from the communication they've had with the kidnapper(s) - if it ends up being targeted, surely they're worried about themselves and their kids as well.

MOO

That scenario that just about everyone hoped for but seemed more and more unlikely is now (practically) determined.

Read all the posts.... realists can see exactly what Savannah's plea was saying

A few 'rose tinted glasses' are still hoping for the best but sadly that's never gonna come now...

Every wealthy person is going to have to up the security around their parents and children permanently after this, as it sets a horrible precedent. MOO.

In regards to SGs new instagram post. First impression is that NG is dead (idk why a kidnapper would admit that since it's their only leverage).

Very confused what return our mother so she can celebrate with us means. (Is this in regards to her recent birthday)

They end it by saying "we will pay" (pay for the return of her body? or NG alive)

JMO
there were some things said that make me think they are now paying for their mother's body. Give them the money and they will be given a spot to find her.

this may be a small thing but I am really surprised that LE has allowed comments to remain on. I really figured they would disable them. I wonder if there truly is someone sending the notes who is the real perp, if they would want that person to read the comments. JMO

Is there a reason this is all playing out over Instagram? And not privately?

Yeah you guys might be right, idk what to think anymore. Let's just hope they find peace and closure soon 🙏🏻

If this is a legit ransom I don't know why they would admit she's dead. All that does is lower the chances of getting the ransom

This might be very deliberate wording to emphasize that she physically needs to be with the family (dead or alive) to provide closure.

  • #10,060
I would think in this supposed situation the family would appear frantic rather than sad. The wording “this is valuable to us” rather than “our mother is valuable to us” I think says it all.
I read that "this is valuable to us" is something the kidnapper said, it may not have been proof of life, but they are responding to what was said.
