it is possible that the kidnappers cut off a finger tip or some other part (like piece of ear) at the time of kidnapping. The second note said where to find where they left it at time of kidnapping. The threat is to send their mother back in pieces.

I have the opposite opinion.

IMO, can they really speak “man to man” when they’re not on an equal footing? At the moment all the power is in the hands of whomever took Nancy.

What you see as lukewarm, I see as tightly controlled rage, knowing his mother’s life is up to the kidnapper right now.

He’s career military but he’s a jet fighter pilot, not National Guard. I presume he is accustomed to being in control in dangerous situations, and to keep emotion in check so he can do his highly skilled job.

But right now, he is forced to “play nice” in order to have a mother again.

I think they hope for the best, but realistically, the chance is slim.

I don't know if anyone can understand how people should feel or act given the circumstances.

I can’t put the link, but I have read it has happened.

One billboard spotted in Albuquerque, New Mexico, features Guthrie’s photo along with her age, height, weight, and an FBI contact number, according to local news station KOAT-TV.

Watched without the sound. I think she's passed, they now know it, the celebration will be for her life and they want her body back to lay her to rest because it means the world to them.

That's my take on it. They are devastated and if they thought there is a chance of her being alive they would reflect that.

This is the craziest case I have followed in forever. I wake up throughout the night and scroll this thread praying for an update.

I am being hopeful yhat this latest message is just a response to the perp not sending proof of life, and them remaining optimistic that shes alive. I pray they weren't told shes dead. Maybe they got another, more urgent timeline?

I also why the sheriff said no more pressers until Thursday.

So many odd things going on, its driving me crazy!

SG's Instagram video. I guess there was a very serious threat in the latest communication by the "we understand" comment.

Boy the latest video is heartbreaking. They are so scared and I think there was a major threat in the note yesterday and ransom being paid right now. They were so sad I almost wonder if they just want to get the body back. It was really hard to know what is happening.

She wore black in the first video earlier in the week. It's possible they have known early on NG is dead. If that is the case, we still do not know.

Thank you for this. The immense sorrow and pain in her son, Cameron's eyes, tells me what has happened. Nancy is deceased. They need her back for peace and to celebrate her life. Make her a full circle of their love.

$650k home purchased in Mar 2025. $140k home sold in Jun 2025. I don't know what they owed to their mortgage company to close out that loan. Plus, there are realtor and closing costs. If nothing else, they needed this $300k in the bank well before they closed in March. They had to get it from some place. Maybe, they saved that money. Maybe, they borrowed it from the NG with the promise to pay her back as soon as their house sold.

I do know that when we loaned our son a substantial amount of money to purchase his home, we had to sign a document stating that the money was a "gift" to him. The mortgage company wanted to make sure that there was not another major loan debt that had to be paid.

If NG lent them this amount of money, she surely would have had to do the same. Of course, some family members will honor their debts. Others stall and pay partial or won't pay at all. Who knows?

Just throwing that out there for consideration.

The current home was contingent on them selling the old house. It easily pencils out for them not needing any help as long as they didn't have a high debt to income. Which they likely didn't given the underwriters approved them and nobody else is on the loan. They didn't seem to be in any financial distress with the home.

JMO - I'm trying to read the body language in the video without sound and i know i will get so much hate for this but am i the only one thinking AG is trying to push some tears out in a very unnatural way?
I know everyone reacts differently in these situations and they must be exhausted but i just noticed this and wondered if anyone saw this too or if it's just me imagining things.

They are risking a lot doing it to an 84-year old woman with high blood pressure, a pacemaker and other issues, in a desert.

Of course they may be total idiots who don't care, not professional kidnappers.

I think NG could still be alive despite the defeat on the kids' faces. Even if she's returned alive, they're not out of the woods unless the FBI/police actually catch the person who did it. And even then, how do you recover from this?

They might have more information about the motive from the communication they've had with the kidnapper(s) - if it ends up being targeted, surely they're worried about themselves and their kids as well.
