AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

This is uncharted territory for me, but I can't imagine they would do something like that if they had a prime suspect.

ETA: Things seem to have changed recently, with Trump's comments, the return to Nancy's house, and what we saw tonight.

Uncharted territory for those involved as well as spectators, huh... Everyone saying it's wild the way things have played and continue to play out!

I'm curious if there's any relation to the timing of the SG Tuscon video a few months ago and her supposed to be leaving for the Olympics right before it happened. Like if you were weighing that in light of the SIL being a possible suspect, or not, how that would connect, if at all

I wonder if they're looking into a car repair man, since Nancy's car was damaged in the front? It's also possible she gave him car keys that might've had her house key attached or garage door opener inside.
That is just generally horrifying. I just got my car serviced and obediently handed my keys over to a total stranger.

Don't know if this has been posted ? Just watched with tears when I listened to Nancy near the end. Filmed 3 months ago.
All this is just not fair!

Yeah with Trump coming out and saying positive things about how the direction of this investigation is going, I'd have to imagine TC, If he was involved, would be pretty antsy knowing the walls are closing in on him.

I just don't know how the person that did this can rest easy wherever he is knowing that at any moment, possibly while he's asleep, a bunch of armed guys are ready to storm his home and take him down.

Did Trump speak on this again today? If so, I missed it.

I'm curious if SG helps out her siblings financially at all. Her net worth is estimated at $40M, and I believe her NYC townhome is worth about $11M and she may possibly have another home. I'm not sure her husband's net worth. I could see, if she doesn't help them at all, there being resentment. However, she is in no way obligated to

EDIT: and AG/TC's home is listed at about $650k.

Seriously people, while everyone's opinion is as valid as mine, who really thinks the SIL would do this and think he could get away with it? I mean, he'd have to know he'd be a prime suspect so he'd have to work far harder at a coverup than a third party.

I'm really thinking this looks like a kidnapping for ransom. My money is on cartels but there are plenty of other possibilities.

Every criminal thinks they can get away with it, otherwise they wouldn't do it.

He could have thought that police would buy what the crime scene was selling - someone broke in and committed a kidnapping.

Smart people can be horrible criminals.

The ransom may be an effort to cover it up, once he realized he was being seriously looked at.

If it is kidnapping for ransom, it's unprecedented in this day and age.

I follow cartels almost as much as I follow murder cases. This is just not how they behave on American soil, especially with the victim here (elderly, low risk).

All for what amounts to chump change for them.

If they’re taking photos after using luminol, does that mean that they picked up on blood in the garage? They don’t bother taking photos to show that nothing was found, right?

It was Friday Night on his plane. I'm sure the perpetrator saw that and I just don't know how they wouldn't be absolutely paranoid at this point.

Only $6M?? I’m surprised they haven’t paid this yet.
They want proof of life first. I do think payment will be made before the deadline though, if it hasn't already.

Just my opinion, but maybe LE got some evidence results back from labs and now are curious to see whose dna is primary on the steering wheel. I've always thought it odd NG's cell phone was in the car, when it seems most people would have their phone in the house with them. Just my random thoughts/guesses, fwiw.
There was a double murder in Austin a number of years ago. Immaculately cleaned up crime scene, and no fingerprints….except on the button to roll back the seat of the victims’ car. That one thumbprint was enough to convict.

I've never seen a case like this in my lifetime, and I have no doubt I never will again. I've been confused before, but never this confused.

Every theory has a major issue.

Oh thanks. I saw that one.

When I heard Trump's words about solving it (or whatever he said) I took it with a grain of salt as I do with every other announcement he makes!

I mean, I am not in US and this isn't political, but he just says what he needs to say at any given time, often economical with the truth.

Wow. I wonder if they were meant to release that info as so far it’s been kept under wraps

The amount of ransom demanded was never released until now but Harvey Levin revealed that there was another deadline Monday with something worse happening if demands weren't met.

This is what I've been pondering - I just can't imagine this interaction lasting only 2 minutes. I recall someone saying maybe they went through the garage door with her then exited another way. This could make sense except there is no mention of it in the timeline. It very specifically notes just the garage door.

She would likely move slowly or at least slower than someone with more stability on their feet, even just getting out of the car, saying goodbyes as you said. I just feel like 2 minutes doesn't seem right. Maybe it is, maybe the routine is she just likes to get herself in on her own and immediately turns and closes the garage door. But I'm thinking when someone drops me off, I will often wait until they are reversing or driving off to wave goodbye. Even that would add some time to it.

I keep bouncing between ransom versus these pieces of information and just can't make sense of it all
The Tucson daughter and her partner are the only ones who state NG came home 1/31/26 after 3 1/2 hours at Tucson daughter's house. This screams to me an inside job by people NG knew, as so much time in home by others 1:30am to 2:30am after 2 min alleged drop off of Mom at 9:45pm. How do we know NG did not have meds with her? Did police count the pills in NG script bottles? I think having NG take Uber to daughter's house 10 min drive at 5:32pm to Tucson daughter's house was start of this fake kidnapping in my opinion. Elderly bleed easily. The drops at front entryway may have been from a simple nosebleed early 1/31/26 before Uber driver showed up. The second all siblings plea on video....not all 3 show geniune concern....just 2, one seems forced.
