I was under the impression that when the FBI took the reins from local LE they were starting over from square one and doing all of the things that local LE may not have had the resources to do.
Is it the FBI that is there today?

What if:

- there was a request for a loan by a host a small family gathering, and it was declined
-someone became enraged and another person was injured and died, and the hosts of the gathering try to think what to do
-one of the hosts takes the deceased’s Apple Watch and collects some blood and walks over to the deceased’s house and enters through the garage just before 10pm, backing victims car out of the garage
-that host stages the crime scene, watch and blood.
-that host drives back to his house in victim’s car and puts victim in that car then drives around to find a place to hide the body
-then that host drives back to his house
-the next morning when the hosts go to victims house they take their car and victims car. Enter home by the garage, parking the victims car back in garage before LE comes.

*LE tows victim’s car days later after a license plate reader indicated the car was being driven around that night.

And after that bedtime story/fairy tale, it’s off to dreamland for me! Goodnight, friends!
Escalating from asking for a small loan to murder and a demand for $6 million in cryptocurrency is quite a leap.

Interesting scenario; added the information about NG’s car out after hours.
I was thinking about this too, but what about the pacemaker spiking at 2am? I wonder if that rules out a murder happening earlier in the evening?

Tossing the idea out there that NG took an uber because her car, for some reason, was not at home that day. And, later that night it was returned. ??
I consider the same.

Or…having her car at some place other than in her own garage would have created an additional logistical issue to deal with.

moo.

She said “Celebrate with her.” I don’t think people would phrase it that way for a Celebration of Life ceremony. IMO
I agree, but I do wonder whether they phrased it that way to try to curb speculation that she's dead. Even if they know that she is dead maybe they just kind of wanted to not acknowledge that publicly yet for some reason.

It's just inexplicable, if it was SIL I'm surprised it would take this long to build a case and nail him down? Even if he had an accomplice, surely there would be some record of who it was or what they did. Federal, state and local are all working on this, how could he outsmart them all for this long? Who knows though... again, just somehow hoping AG wasn't involved if SIL did do it...
If it is TC, he didn't outsmart them, just delayed the discovery of his involvement. I would like to have seen NG returned last Tuesday or ideally, never taken in the first place, but the initial communication set a 7 - 8 day time period. It will be a shame and a travesty if he is involved but even more of a travesty if he cannot be prosecuted due to overlooked or missing evidence resulting from a hurried investigation. I have every confidence that whomever perpetrated this horrible crime will be identified and solid evidence that cannot be disputed will be brought to light. I can wait for that end of things but I hope there isn't any more waiting for the return of NG. I believe her kidnapping and/or murder will not go unpunished.

What was the original amount? Has it increased? Or has it always been 6 million? Or is the public just hearing the number for the first time?

Ah water storage could mean we are going to fill an abandoned tank to see what floats to the top. Has anyone verified this image is from the daughter's home?
The tweet says Nancy's home.

I have a feeling that SG knows that AG is involved with this and is going along with this ransom charade. SG seems very angry and distant towards AG, meanwhile AG is looking terrified and hyperventilating.
I am undecided/not convinced that AG and/or her husband has anything to do with NG's disappearance. If they do, I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent. If they don't, I can't imagine the pain that they and the rest of the family is and will go through for the rest of their lives.

I am the local daughter that has the responsibility of caring for my mom who has some dementia. It can be both a blessing and a curse and can be a source of some very difficult family dynamics - even in the best of families. I can imagine that there may be a certain amount of resentment from AG towards SG & CG - not that she doesn't love them and can even be proud of/happy for them and their success. But it can be very hard to be the one that is faced with the day-to-day care of an aging parent. Even if NG wasn't in need of full-time "care", there is still the sense that you (AG in this case) are the one to make sure she is OK, that she gets to appointments, social things, has/takes her medicine, runs errands, makes sure household and financial things are done, etc. And you do this day in, day out while your siblings live far away and may seem blissfully unaware of the day-to-day care you provide. It often feels like you are the sole person responsible for your mom's health, safety, etc.

So when this tragedy happened, even if AG had nothing to do with it, I can easily see how she could feel responsible/guilty and/or even feel like the rest of the family is blaming her. Add to this that this is a very public case and there is so much speculation that AG and/or her husband are involved and that many in the media/social media are openly saying they are guilty. Imagine how difficult it must be to deal with your mom being missing under this circumstances and then having to cope with the public blame and worry if your own siblings may believe you are responsible. And even if they aren't "responsible" in the sense that they harmed NG, the pain of feeling responsible because you were the last one to see her and that you didn't keep her safe and wondering if your own siblings are questioning your involvement must be unbearable.

One of the things I love about Websleuths is that it is victim-friendly so I am kind of surprised that there has been so much posted here openly accusing AG and/or TC of being involved. I understand and respect that Websleuths is where we share our thoughts, theories, etc but I always thought that we weren't supposed to speculate about someone's involvement unless/until they were named a person of interest by LE. I really hope that AG (and TC) had nothing to do with this and that somehow the family will be able to heal at some point.

Maybe it was a story that LE was given and then Nanos walked it back when investigators couldn't confirm it.

Just a possibility.
Exactly. What I’m saying is if AG/SIL are innocent, there is a reason why they had to check on NG. If they are innocent it’s not a hard timeline to explain, for what reason did they check in on her and go to her house at 11:56. 8 days later and we don’t have that answer? Cmon

Maybe you go to bed that early in a nursing home but not necessarily if you are still independent.
After many years of getting up at 4 and going to bed at 9, I do it naturally. Its hard for me to stay up later, because about 8:45 my body is expecting some jammies. LOL everyone is different.

Is anyone else glued to WS right now 😩
I scurried off to church & came back to read! Dog needs walked & I keep saying 1 more page, 1 more page.
Boy this is a real whodunit & I have to keep reminding myself this isn’t TV. I think the random folks just latched onto a good situation when this first hit the news that she was missing. Whoever did the “missing” part has had a real giant wrench thrown in their plans.

Do we think SG's last video will be the last communication btwn the parties before a possible payment? If NG is (hopefully) alive, where would she be released so that she's found but the kidnapper isn't?

  • #12,438
I think it will be the SIL. It was the brother-in-law when Jennifer Hudson was caught up in a similar tragedy :(
That wasn’t even close to a similar tragedy. The brother in law was known to be violent and there was turmoil.

I second everything you said. I’ve been surprised at some of the comments I’ve seen as well. I also am not particularly active here, but in some other high profile cases I followed (Mollie Tibbits, the students in Moscow), people were pretty quick to point fingers and accuse people who ended up having absolutely nothing to do with the case. As of what we know right now, they are just as much victims as everyone else in the family.

Did SIL have cameras at his house to provide alibi?
