That’s how it is here tooI wouldn’t have known it worked like that until the FBI arrested our local sheriff on federal charges and i was surprised that he was held in the county jail of a neighboring county - guess they didn’t want to put him in his own county jail. Turns out the feds pay the county jails to house these defendants and if they are convicted at trial then they go to a federal prison because after conviction it doesn’t matter how far away they have to go but before and during trial they like to keep them close for going to and from court and for meeting with their lawyers and such.
And Savannah's considerable personal finances are well known and a potential motive.Because the ransom note author demanded $6 million or else.
If a murder charge was filed it would be in the local jurisdiction. Kidnapping would be a federal case. From what I’ve heard it was only sheriff not FBI searching AG’s house last night.. it’s strange to me that it would be Pima co. and not the FBI searching.
I don't think there has been any confirmation of the church person or that those calls had even existed.I am sorry @academyrd .... I had read your post totally wrong
Early on, there was lots of back and forth about how/why she was missed, so as to alarm someone in the church, because she would zoom in to those services.
I believe most of us were feeling that this was totally credible....
We had Zoom services in my church during Covid, and we, in the Church, could always look at the Zoom screen to see who was "dialing in".
But you seem to be questioning the WHY the family would bother to check in on NG. I believe the following answers that question.
I thought we read that LE had questioned the Church person and determined she made two calls:
1)Nancy's phone and then
2)Family's phone
Yes. And also that this family has the ability come up with a large amount on the fly, where not everyone has easy access to 6 million dollars or whatever the demanded amount is.Because money is one of the main motives in many murders and most kidnappings for ransom?
(it is also the number one reason given for divorce and family acrimony)
I thought I read that SG’s dad was a mining engineer? The filing date stands out to me, only because it's the year her husband, Charles, died.
"June 10, 1988, at age 46 while on a work trip in Mexico."
The Apple Watch was found in the home.
“To authenticate something, they have to show that they know something everybody else wouldn’t,” he said. “And as far as we can tell, there has been no report out on the placement of that watch, where it was found. And so it would be something that would be held close to the vest.”

TMZ’s Levin: Nancy Guthrie ransom note had two deadlines
TMZ founder Harvey Levin on Thursday offered new details about the purported ransom note his outlet received in connection with the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie from her Tucson, Ariz.…thehill.com
Do you think they want consent to search their properties in case suspect used them? Two sheriff vehicles are at a neighbor’s house. They knocked on the door, but no one opened. The neighbor’s house is at the top of the road behind Nancy’s house not AG’s.
LOL. They'll know how we feel when they GET there!I don't even know why this keeps coming up. It's been eye-opening in a way to see how many treat the elderly as totally lacking independence and autonomy. Jmo.
I think she’s referring to the Super Bowl.Is there a lot of coverage on this case in your country?
There's also potential for things like doorbell cams, security footage, etc.Do you think they want consent to search their properties in case suspect used them?
Wow. Trying to see if they have Ring footage that shows SIL doing anything suspicious I’m sure… surprised they hadn’t done that soonerTwo sheriff vehicles are at a neighbor’s house. How large is the septic tank opening? How easy is it to access?oh I agree with this....
But all my service calls were just that--- service calls.
Not LE calls....
Racking my brain trying to think of what might still be traceable in the water or tank....
No worries! There’s been so much back and forth it’s impossible to remember everythingThank you - as much as I’ve tried staying up to date on developments I somehow missed this.
Isn't it a bit late in the game to do this only now..? Seems they should have done this couple days earlierThere's also potential for things like doorbell cams, security footage, etc.
We don’t KNOW that there was a call made. In fact, the Sheriff left this alleged phone call out of his timeline this past Thursday. He didn’t speak of it when running down the timeline verbally, and it wasn’t included in the PowerPoint presentation of the timeline. We know church members notified the family about Nancy's absence. Who was supposed to pick up Nancy for church that Sunday morning? Wouldn't the alarm have been sounded at that time?
Absolutely. Looking for Nancy's body, a weapon or other things that would have been used by a suspect.Do you think they want consent to search their properties in case suspect used them?
