With all due respect...if it isnt a kidnaping, where the hell is she? A kidnaping is the unlawful taking or confinement of a person. They havent found her in the house or in the neighborhood. Unless they think she wandered off....I just don't understand why people still think she wasnt kidnapped?

I wasn't responding if she was kidnapped or not, but the validity of the ransom itself. I think most anyone here would agree that she was taken/disappeared against her will at this point.

What made TMZ think they were local? Something else in there maybe?
I believe Harvey Levin said he thought that because they sent the original and now the 2nd one to a local Tucson news station.

Personally... I believe that anyone could google and find that easily though.

Can we go back to the grandkid for a bit? I'm digging through posts trying to find info but there's SO MUCH.

AG & SIL have a child, correct? Age? Do we know where this child was last weekend?
It is interesting that the media hasn’t gone snooping looking for dirt on the family by now. Surely they have friends and associates who know them.

Has it been mentioned that Senator Mark Kelly has come out and said that Savannah called him on her way to airport on Sunday to tell him what was going on and seek his help. To me, it appears from that that they knew right away this was extremely serious and not just a “she walked away” or went out with someone else type thing.

Is there a link for that?

Please correct if wrong:
There is no confirmation that SIL took Nancy home.
We don't know for sure who was at the dinner with Nancy at AG's home.
We don't know for sure how Nancy got into her home when she was taken home.
We don't know for sure how Nancy was taken out of her home.
TIA!
"It was the type of Saturday evening that Nancy Guthrie treasured: dinner and game night at the home of her eldest daughter and son-in-law.

They lived near each other, in the unincorporated desert communities north of Tucson, Ariz., and Ms. Guthrie arrived by Uber just after 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. The family spent about four hours together before Ms. Guthrie was driven home by her son-in-law, who watched to ensure she made it safely inside, the police said later.

At 9:48 p.m., her garage door opened, according to a timeline from the authorities. Two minutes later, it closed. That glimpse of Ms. Guthrie heading inside was the last time anyone in her family saw or heard from her."

People go missing all the time and aren’t kidnapped. People go missing and are murdered and aren’t victims of kidnapping. The whole kidnapping thing may be a farce cashing in on a disappearance. The disappearance can be close to home with regards to who is involved

Yikes. A neighbor's home.

Remembering "Silence of the Lambs" (but memory is vague). I remember Hannibal Lecter advised Jodie Foster's character (Clarice) that a perpetrator wants he frequently sees. And Clarice traveled to a neighborhood where a teen or young adult woman had disappeared some time before the current missing woman and she spoke with a member of that vicim's family and toured the house. And she noticed that that victim had been a seamstress who had patterns and a sewing machine in her room. Then, she noticed the window of that victim's room was overlooked by a window of a neighbor's home. Clarice knocked on that neighbor's door and discovered a man living there in his deceased mother's home and she started asking him questions and began also noticing oddities which eventually led her to the basement where the killer had the current missing woman in a deep hole.

But that is just a story. It could be that a perpetrator is not a neighbor, but a trespasser who uses a neighbor's home and property as he pleases.

ETA: The message expressed by SG in the first video ("Ask her, you'll see) was from SOTL. Is this perpetrator playing sick games?
They might be playing very very sick games.

So are we sure it was the septic tank of the neighbor LE were checking?
Because if so, this is getting really crazy.

ETA: I looked at google Maps satellite view and indeed think that the septic tank(s) LE opened are those next to the neighbour house and not next to NG house.
I'm on my phone and am struggling to add links and screenshots but someone above already did.

Quick one
Was the random note received before or after the public found out? I'm not sure it's mentioned, just deadlines.
The first communication was received well after Ms Guthrie's disappearance.

"KOLD received the first ransom note at approximately 5 p.m. Monday, news director Jessica Bobula told NewsNation. The station sent it directly to investigators and did not report on it until authorities issued a joint statement with the FBI acknowledging they were aware of ransom note reports."

I know a Silver/SAFE Alert was issued, but how long did it take for that to go out?

Where has this been said? “Haven’t gone snooping…”

I think they have secretly been “snooping” all along. It’s part of not ruling anyone out.

I hope they leave the child alone. Involving an innocent minor, that's a line one should not cross

I’m pretty sure at this point because I’ve been trying to place it all day and couldn’t until now. This isn’t a great pic (source Fox News drone) but it’s the hvac and wall that didn’t match with NG house. Other source is Google Maps. NG’s property is immaculate. The other is messy.

Murdered that night and dumped in the desert. The kidnapping is just a red herring to draw attention away from the murder. And possibly to collect a larger insurance payout.
That's a cold take, but highly plausibe.

How long after payment was received that Nancy would be returned. It takes so long to get back to the area. If they said within 5 hours, you can look and see where you would be 5 hours from wherever they said that they would return her
That is exactly how TMZ determined it. They have the letter and know the time that the kidnappers said it would take to return her, based on staying within speed limit-and assuming they are driving--they came up with this "radius" map. Of course it could all be BS, and is based on a lot of assumptions, and who would be driving her back and where.

Found video here from CBS, AZ Senator Mark Kelly speaking on the case, starting at :28 seconds:

"Before it was public, Savannah called me...and then I called the sheriff, and I called the Tuscon police chief. So that was, uh, mid-afternoon on Sunday, and Savannah was on the way to the airport to fly here, and obviously rather upset. So I've been doing whatever I can do."
