Looks like things have slowed down today. I imagine tomorrow might be a day of big developments.
Given that the second ransom deadline is tomorrow, I'm sure there will be activity in the case and possible updates from LE.

Where has this been said? “Haven’t gone snooping…”

I think they have secretly been “snooping” all along. It’s part of not ruling anyone out.
I haven’t heard them reporting much on the family dynamics. The most that we have is the sil writing poetry, being from Italy, and having been in a band. That’s about it. That was easily found doing a quick Google search.

The first communication was received well after Ms Guthrie's disappearance.

"KOLD received the first ransom note at approximately 5 p.m. Monday, news director Jessica Bobula told NewsNation. The station sent it directly to investigators and did not report on it until authorities issued a joint statement with the FBI acknowledging they were aware of ransom note reports."

What if... 1st deadline missed she was killed. If 2nd deadline missed, no return of body.

Has it been mentioned that Senator Mark Kelly has come out and said that Savannah called him on her way to airport on Sunday to tell him what was going on and seek his help. To me, it appears from that that they knew right away this was extremely serious and not just a “she walked away” or went out with someone else type thing.
I saw a video of MK explaining this on X. He says SG flew to Tuscon on Sunday. That makes sense if there was no sign of her and perhaps the visual clues of something being seriously wrong in the home. I didn't think anything suspicious of it.

Can we go back to the grandkid for a bit? I'm digging through posts trying to find info but there's SO MUCH.

AG & SIL have a child, correct? Age? Do we know where this child was last weekend?
It's against the rules to sleuth minors. Just a heads-up.

The ransom decision thing feels very straightforward but simultaneously not straightforward at all. If SG pays, does she instantly put a target on the back of her child, potentially worth much more than $6 million if that's what she'll pay for what could be her elderly mother's remains? Her other family members? Does it put a target on the back of her colleagues and their families?

If it was me, and if I could, would I? Yes. Would my mother want me to pay for her remains if it potentially changed her grandchildren's lives forever and made their world a whole lot darker and smaller? No, absolutely not.

I don’t mean this in the wrong way, but who was looking for Nancy being on a livestream church service. I understand that friends might look for each other in person, maybe to sit together or go to coffee after. Is it the same for virtual church?

And I wonder why Nancy wasn’t going to church in person. The fellowship and the feeling of togethership (especially during hymns) is something that many people especially enjoy. Did she miss it?

Was she avoiding anyone?
MOO but I would imagine there’s a small group of regular, virtual attendees. The video platform has a live chat function so it does seem like they encourage a digital “social aspect.” Maybe she usually texts with someone during the service? There’s a ton of reasons why her absence could have been noticed.

I’m pretty sure at this point because I’ve been trying to place it all day and couldn’t until now. This isn’t a great pic (source Fox News drone) but it’s the hvac and wall that didn’t match with NG house. Other source is Google Maps. NG’s property is immaculate. The other is messy.
Tricia has posted recently reminding all of us that, when posting a still from news video, the link to the video itself should be posted as well as the time stamp of the still taken from the video. Would very much appreciate that information.

I mean this as a serious question because I'm very confused about all the comments that suggest the kidnapping and/or ransom demands are just a ruse to cover for the murder. I don't really understand what that means. How would further entangling yourself with a crime be helpful? It changes nothing.

Didn’t they say no press conference until Tuesday unless something significant happens?

Why isn’t Savannah wearing her wedding band in yesterday’s short video?
Many people choose to remove wedding bands temporarily for all sorts of reasons (e.g. playing sports). Perhaps she left it at home and did not want to travel with it. Not massively relevant to the case tbh.

Quick one
Was the random note received before or after the public found out? I'm not sure it's mentioned, just deadlines.
IIRC after.

And as one former FBI agent said it was very atypical conduct in that it was sent to the media (TMZ, TV stations) rather than directly to the family. He theorized that they want the attention to play out in the public (for revenge, a targeted grudge against SG whatever)

IF the ransom is legit and IF the goal is money, than this is not the way to do it. You don't want that kind of heat on you, you don't want to be in possession of the kidnapped for a week+. You want direct quick communication to the family, provide proof of life, and quietly get your money and move on. Many ransoms don't make the media at all. Companies provide and pay out ransom insurance (NBC might even do it).

Another take on "Why SG Should Not Pay Ransom Yet" by former FB agent:

"Ms. Guthrie, whom friends have described as a devoted Christian, was expected at church that Sunday morning. But when someone at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian did not see her in the pews, they called her family to check in.

Alerted, Ms. Guthrie’s family rushed to her home, the authorities said. They found her phone, wallet, hearing aid, daily medication and car. But they did not find her. They called 911."

Looks like the kid is 12or 13ish from the pic I saw. Way too young to be involved in anything like this.

Please don't describe this kid. Lots of posts have been deleted for failure to follow the rules. Including mine.

If the FBI Director is going there tomorrow, I think that will be to announce an arrest with all that media.
