The supposed deadline has passed with nothing happening. Pretty sure now that NG was likely killed either the night she was taken or the next day and the person sending notes/communication either wasn't involved in the disappearance at all or is infact the kidnapper and is just getting a kick out of the attention it is getting.

Trying to catch up. Has anyone asked If NG was meeting friends to watch livestream of SG church services one needs to consider three hour time difference EST. This service would have been 3 hours earlier than considered and more time between when friend raised concerns and time family was reported to be at NG house.

Yes. There are many websites where you can easily access this information and for free. It's quite alarming.
Those sites are often ever-so-slightly inaccurate, which makes them even more dangerous, IMO.

So then what data is synced to the phone/watch? If her heart stopped, wouldnt the pacemaker show it was repeatedly trying to get a rhythm?
It's not that her heart stopped. Pre cell phones and WIFI..there was no way to montor any aberrant beats etc. With the cell phone or some other kind of digital MONITOR within range..there are now pacemakers with something implanted that can project the information on to a device that eventually sends a message to a central point for analysis etc. So! If she was say 100 yards from her monitor, the pacemaker is still working, her heart is still beating but the monitor can't communicate with it because she is too far away.. Hope I am explaining this correctly.

It's a 2 hour time difference in winter. ( I was just in Tucson last week for the Gem Show)

Yes, really! A judicial warrant must be specific about what they are looking for and they must state evidence upon which they have reasonable articulable suspicion for a judge to issue the warrant. The warrant is then limited to the specific items the warrant authorizes to search for. There is also a report generated from a judicial warrant within a few days specifying exactly what was found and seized.

So let's say they get a warrant to search for blood droplets or other evidence related to the kidnapping of NG...

Then they find 100 kg of cocaine...

In general they cannot sieze the cocaine nor can they use the findings of the kidnapping search to get a new warrant for the cocaine. In some cases they can if they can find other evidence to connect it the the kidnapping, and in some jurisdictions the restrictions may be more lax.

Judicial searches must be specific and supported by reasonable evidence acquired through regular investigation.

In a traffic stop, yes they can seize anything in plain sight because traffic stops are different. But not in a house search unless a judge specifically authorizes it.

Consentual searches are a free for all. They can take anything. Looking for kidnapping evidence but find your anal sex tape and it is illegal in your jurisdiction or it's not but you are a high profile person, public servant, teacher or whatever...now they have leveredge. There are no circumstances whatsoever I would ever submit to a voluntary search! And I really have nothing to hide. But to a stupid cop, my tiny ziplocs and scale for measuring cooking herbs are what they are taught are indicators of drug dealing. I don't need that when I can just say no. If they want to get a judicial warrant, fine, then they are restricted to what they specifically said they were looking for and the specific crimes they stated in the warrant.
This is not correct at all. If they found the cocaine in a place they could reasonably search to find a body, they can absolutely apply for a second warrant to seize the cocaine. You don’t have to cover your eyes and plug your ears and ignore crimes because the warrant didn’t specify that particular crime.

The issue would be if they were looking for a body and found a gram of coke in a small dresser drawer. A body wouldn’t be in the drawer, so the search was most likely unlawful.

Edit: this mostly falls under plain view doctrine because the officer has legal authority to be in a position to see the evidence of other crimes.

The time difference is a good point, though. If they noticed her missing by 11am, that means a 9am service in NYC, which I think is too early for this city (I'm in NYC and guessing which church they watched).

I think the church friends likely gathered before the service actually began, for breakfast, chatting, Bible study. And, when NG was late and didn't pick up the phone, they were immediately concerned. I'm sure they didn't expect a kidnapping but perhaps an injury at home, illness, car accident, etc.

Rings true to me.

I believe she liked to watch the wildlife. I live in Washington state and there are people in my neighborhood who love to share on FB every single deer, elk, coyote, raccoon, occasional bear that comes across their backyard camera.

Yes, I do believe it was her own camera (not planted by bad guys). I hope her interest in watching wildlife with this camera was still active and this camera was still operational with footage LE could recover. IMO

I want to apologize for how I handled things yesterday.
This is why we love you Tricia.

This seems odd. Why put up billboards in Texas? Unless they think she is alive and being moved.
Saw one already here in the Dallas area.

“We don’t typically get the sheriff out to a scene like this, but it’s very concerning what we’re learning from the house,” Nanos said, adding that a homicide team is also investigating. “It’s not standard — typically our homicide team comes out when we have a homicide, a body. But simply by what the scene was telling us, we felt the need to bring the homicide team.”

Listen maybe I’m bonkers but I know if it was me and my family, and that home was ‘released’ to us so quickly - we would have congregated over there. Unless of course it didn’t look ‘normal’. And with homicide coming in almost immediately?

Maybe the inside of that house looked much more like a crime scene than we’ve discussed.

Can I ask how readily available Nancy’s address would have been prior to the incident? Im not American but I know you guys have public record websites. Is it something a person would have been able to easily retrieve? In my country that data is somewhat protected.
Simple to find should you wish to. Public records.

An 84-year-old woman who was reported missing in Arizona has been identified by officials as the mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced during a news conference on Sunday that Nancy Guthrie was last seen in the Catalina Foothills area on Saturday night at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said a family member reported her missing on Sunday, around noon.

Nanos said search and rescue teams have been out at Nancy Gutherie's home, along with homicide teams and detectives.

Foul play has not been ruled out at this time.

I don’t understand why they reported what the president said when he has no clue as to what’s going on that was so embarrassing

Does anyone know who dropped her off, and why so late? I wonder if it was a special celebration. Usually elderly people don’t stay up that late.
I thought she got dropped off on Sat night

The only thing I will credit the Sheriff with was that he kept much of the scene details out of his press conferences, as he should. He is no wordsmith, and he seems over his head. If his department did not welcome the FBI’s involvement and stalled the process, that’s a whole other thing.

There’s no identifiable pattern.
There’s no suspect description, no vehicle info, no geographic narrowing.
Even when LE hold things back, some pattern usually leaks out. Here, so far there’s nothing. There is no answers to the who, how, or why. What’s missing is order. The situation has urgency but they’re aren’t asking the public to really do anything specific other than keep eyes and ears open for HER. This urgency without direction feels hollow. How else can the public help? I trust and believe they are working hard behind the scenes. I understand that LE silence can be a strategy but Until something connects evidence to a specific person or persons, there is no suspect, just data and most likely a limited suspect pool. I find it incredibly frustrating just with the information the public has. I selfishly want more information. I want LE/FBI to go faster. I want them to Find her, bring her home! I cannot even begin to imagine the frustration, anger, fear, suspicion, sadness, etc that the family is dealing with. Just totally horrible. I remain cautiously optimistic and hopeful for NG and her family. Please God be with this family.

I appreciate the differing angles posted here. I have not been shy about my own theory. However, some of you are planting some seeds in my mind that I want to water:

(I'm mostly using other's ideas and adding my own color)

Random-ish crime: Could still be someone close, like someone who works around/at the house. The destruction of cameras is not some sophicated act by someone with intimate knowledge of NG lack of cloud services, but someone seeing a camera and destroying it. Entry made, something happens, NG is deceased shortly after.

My questions are:
1) LE has never said the crime scene was "disturbing" or that they suspect she is deceased based on the crime scene. The family seems to believe she was/is alive and the FBI/LE have been entertaining the ransom situation. Is there any reason to believe NG was deceased vs kidnapped?

2) a robbery gone wrong, involving a random(ish) person rarely involves complete removal of the body. The perps simply don't plan to transport and dispose of a body. Clearly NG was removed. What are theories behind removing NG after a botched robbery?

3) Lack of suspect evidence in the house. How did a random-ish person(s) keep sterile during a robbery gone wrong? My opinion has been that the lack of foreign DNA is because the perp is someone expected to be in the house. So how did a random person avoid any DNA evidence?
**you would expect worker DNA in some parts of the house, but not in a bedroom for example
You make some good points. AFAWK, no random DNA found..so rather sterile scene for unknown DNA. Nancy, imo, was taken because they were planning a ransom ..It's the only thing that makes sense to me. This was well planned. This was not random. This seems like the perp wanted attention. Plan A..abduction...then slide into ransom note mode. I am sticking with my theory that SG had a stalker and this was to get her attention..something along that line. I dont think this was a botched robbery. MOO

The ransom note came, what, three days later? You know who would know where specific things were found in the house? Law enforcement. Detectives. Who knows if any of them ran their mouths and someone is trying to cash in with a fake ransom. The police seem to be in over their heads and making a lot of mistakes. Who knows if they let some info slip out. They could have said to someone (family, friends) without thinking where they found her watch. I don’t get the feeling that they’re doing things by the book. A lot of mistakes.
BBM

One day later. Not three. Reported missing Sunday, first ransom note to the local TV station on Monday.
