I also find it strange that other than the search by LE, there hasn’t been the big community search teams out every day searching around NG’s house.

I agree. They called off the searches so fast, imo.

How do they know NG wasn't abducted but then left nearby? Isn't it worth at least community searches? I find that odd....unless they know for sure she is not nearby.

Did the recovered (2/6) rooftop camera give LE any info? I hope so. They have not had a PC since this camera was recovered and presumably are not going to answer any questions about it right now. IMO

INTERESTING: Nancy Guthrie once asked about ‘best’ outdoor cameras for ‘activity at night’ in social media post

Was this camera always there? If so, why didn’t they take it previously? Or did LE place it there to watch for any activity? With the crime committed in the middle of the night and N being woken up by surprise, maybe she suffered a heart attack, would the pacemaker records be able to indicate that?

Nancy had such a small circle.

Source for this? Pace a "pastor" at one of several local churches NG and local extended family in general may have attended in the five-plus decades they've lived or visited, not a single close friend has commented on any Guthrie family member's habits, thoughts, or lifestyle. Typical reticence/discipline/discretion in a small community and concerning locals gone good and high profile.

Who says this "small circle" commentary about the long-time matriarch of a high-profile local family with third-generation roots?

It's so important not to assume or extrapolate in a potential serious crimes case where local LE have a mixed track record, federal investigators are experiencing a centuries-in-a-lifetime lack of expertise crisis, a direct family member is employed in and related to the kind of soft journalism/exploitation media notorious for producing misinformation at the margins of these kinds of unexplained missing persons cases, and no adult in the room is willing to tamp down expectations on the record beyond acting as PR for one LE official who botches the idiom about whose guess is good as another's.

We've heard weird, unsubstantiated speculation about NG's heirs, some sort of inheritance three or fewer white collar children and their spouses and offspring are supposedly eager to enjoy, but there is no evidence Nancy had anything to leave beyond a house and its contents. Setting these modest and fairly garden variety assets aside, there is no indication she was "worth" more than your average middle class 80 year-old; that she represented some kind of unrealized jackpot for a family member; nor that she was isolated, abused, lacking a robust social life, a vast interior life, hobbies, autonomy, and a bright future--a few common geriatric physical nags notwithstanding. She drove her own car during the daytime. Hired rides in the evening. Clearly enjoyrd the company of her three remarkable children and many grandchildren.

That her peers and neighbors refrain from euologies are likely a sign of respect, discretion, and hope. NOTHING reported thus far suggests she was isolated. Please cite to the contrary.

I have been thinking the same thing. She has been in the same neighborhood 50 years, is active at church, seems so well liked. I wonder if there are community led searches we haven't heard about?

good morning all!

I would shocked if the FBI or SO doesn't already have location data for all phones/watch/vehicles involved. Routers in the homes would show what devices were connected and times, etc. I don't even think this is data that is hard to find, even if just for preliminary findings, digging deeper may take time. But the basics, a week later, with FBI working 24/7 and their resources, I would be shocked if they don't know exactly where NG's phone/watch and where TC's phone/vehicle was that night.

IF she had her watch on and was made to take it off or it was taken off of her, it would probably have the time of that too.

Completely agree. LE would have location data from phones, towers, and any usage during key hours. Searches would be conducted whereever devices were pinging off towers. Depending on the year of a vehicle, they can download driving data or even location data from the vehicle. Considering that the only searches (that we know of) have occurred at only two places, makes me think someone's story isn't adding up but there isn't enough evidence to affect an arrest -OR- they have someone(s) under surveillance -OR- they have been negotiating with someone(s) to disclose where NG is and that negotiation is not going well.

These opinions are based on what appears to be the lack of any bloodhounds, volunteer groups, etc conducting searches anywhere.

These are usually very well publicized. I think we’d know.

Is there really no CCTV that could be of any use? I'm not talking about the house, but even like CCTV at key road intersections where cars coming from the direction of the house could be reviewed?

Good point.

This is where I land back on looking inward vs. outward. Back to vehicles, LE now has NG and presumably AG's vehicle in their possession. This comes days after NG is reported missing. At a minimum, I'm comfortable saying these two vehicles are of interest to LE in this investigation. IMO

Fox News Digital has learned that some of Nancy Guthrie’s hired help — like a landscaper, pool cleaner, etc. — are submitting DNA samples. “It's significant because it reveals that they did get some DNA from inside the home or from the collection of evidence at the scene,” says Randy Sutton, a retired Las Vegas police lieutenant and founder of the Wounded Blue. “So now they're going to be comparing that DNA to either eliminate individuals or obtain information about them.”

Does the fact that the Guthrie's gave LE their consent to search their (AG's) home per Brian Entin change anyone's opinion about their speculated involvement?

Nancy Guthrie remains missing from her Tucson-area home and the search continues 10 days after her disappearance. Here's the latest in the investigation.
Updated February 10, 2026, 8:19 AM EST
  • 'Authorities said they are working around the clock for a break in the investigation into the disappearance of “TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother. The FBI said yesterday that it had not identified any suspects or persons of interest.
  • Nancy Guthrie, 84, was dropped off at her home outside Tucson, Arizona, the night of Jan. 31 and was reported missing about noon Feb. 1.
  • The family believes Guthrie is “still out there,” and is asking for the public's help in finding her. In a video on social media yesterday, Savannah Guthrie asked viewers to report anything “strange” to law enforcement. “We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,” she said.
  • The FBI said yesterday that it is “not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers.”

That's funny.. just as I saw a red work truck there in the past 2 months asking if they looked into any Work Orders, etc. Then this was posted. Good to see that there is possibly DNA at the residence.

Exactly!! It almost seemed that LE quickly went to a kidnapping for ransom theory. Surely a boots on the ground search might not only find her, but could find evidence such as a weapon or clothing.

Could be huge. Are they volunteering these DNA samples or are there any warrants?

Something in my gut tells me this will be an unsolved crime. LE seem to be nowhere after well over a week.
🌟It's very disturbing.

They say (article up thread; can't find now) that it doesn't appear to be a kidnapping for ransom, or a robbery.

And yet my own theory shared by others about SIL doesn't seem to be holding up (the church call verification [odd that it hit media right after we were discussing it here for pages]; no apparent signs that they had money issues, etc.

So I am now much less certain of any involvement by SIL. I guess only time will tell.

This has become bizarre.
I agree with you that it is looking like LE don't really have a handle on this in terms of a suspect and that the case may never be solved.

Not good if true:

Federal agents arrived in Tucson last week to an icy welcome amid a harrowing search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “TODAY” co-host Savannah Guthrie.

She was abducted by force from her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood in northern Tucson around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Law enforcement sources described a delay in local cooperation with federal investigators — with days going by before they let them into the fold.

How sad, what would be their reasoning? Also, “she was abducted by force”, how would they know that? Forced entry, damage to the door as an example, but abducted by force?

Does the fact that the Guthrie's gave LE their consent to search their (AG's) home per Brian Entin change anyone's opinion about their speculated involvement?

Not really. Imagine refusing to consent? Basically impeding the investigation of your own mother's disappearance. What could look more suspicious than that?

  • #16,437
I keep thinking about this message posted yesterday from Brian Entin. "New leads" that are bringing an "active presence" to both Guthrie houses.

Then we're hearing about DNA testing. Maybe that's related.

MOO

For me, no. I'm also not digging me heels in over this either. However, LE seemed to go in with a purpose. They were not snooping around. It's always better if the homeowner gives consent and steps aside. I believe LE was going in regardless. Maybe not at that moment, but they would have been back with a warrant (assuming they didn't already have one). IMO

I've never thought they were involved so it just reinforces what I'm thinking.

Look, I really think AB was accurately reporting from her source they were looking into SIL but with no warrants, no lengthy interviews that we know of, no wholesale taking of evidence out of the house or hoards of CSI there - there's just nothing indicating they are being seriously looked at right now.

Aww, the same Church services Savannah attended. How they must have enjoyed discussion of the service and its message.

Wonder if they could catch a glimpse of S and family in their pew. What a wonderful connection to have your mom watching your worship service, hearing of church activities during announcements, possibly seeing a grandchild having their turn doing a reading or serving as an acolyte.

More sadness, sigh.

The service was broadcast live from a New York church attended by Savannah Guthrie

Nancy Guthrie was expected at friend’s home, not church on day she vanished: source

Oh, live broadcast?

What time would that be in Tucson?

So what time was the call to A?

No wonder the friend missed Mrs. Guthrie right away, imo.

All imo
