AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I was around the corner from Annie Guthrie's house on the main road earlier today and just so happened to see a group of investigators walk into a business. I went inside and they were asking an employee for a copy of surveillance video from an outdoor camera between Jan 31st at 9:30 pm and Feb 1st at 11:30 am.

I hope investigators are closely examining/scrutinizing associates of family members. Especially those with any criminal history to include their purchases for items that we see in the pictures…moo

I think the footwear may be covered by material so as not to leave tread marks....not surgical footwear obviously, but something similar.

Gah, I've missed so much on this thread this mornng!! I only just watched the released door cam footage. A few things come to mind (likely already discussed pages ago):

1. Calm, cool and collected and not in any rush. Doesn't seem nervous. Experienced in functioning under pressure?
2. To me, looks/seems like a young person
3. So only 1 perp? Not 2? He has to be very fit/strong to carry her out on his own
4. He seemed prepared and persistent. The camera obstacle and risk didn't slow him down nor did he move onto another house if just a B&E. He wanted in that house. Reminds me of BK from Idaho 4 a bit in that regard
5. Can't tell his size... build and height? I'll try to read back to see as I'm sure FBI have measurements
6. Sounds like they're saying it's a man, but the face shot looks very feminine to me... the eyes... like wearing mascara???

MOO men often get the better longer lashes. IMO that is a male.

And he walked to purposely miss the blood droplets area imo. Maybe blood droplets not yet at area. Why would he need a gun to abduct an 84 year old frail woman who had health issues and mobility problems? Seems like NG was not at house when the gun guy showed up. Seems staged
Not sure if someone already commented on this as it is hard to keep up with this thread but one thing I noticed when intially looking at the crime scene photos... some of the dried blood droplets near the front door had flowers on top of them. I guess they could have been blown around by the wind but if not, that would mean the blood was there before the flowers.

Intruder /very bad guy :
I think unprepared. He encounters the camera which should have been planned for - and it was not.
He is moving slowly - I am going to say he is no mastermind.
The gun holster looks very rinky dink almost like a childs toy gun holder and the positioning is strange - is there an actual gun in it or a knife?
Back pack looks very cheap and "stuffed" like right from the store display ...even with bubble pack - or a tent or clothes - there are no impressions of anything I can see inside it. Was that just a cover in case someone saw him ? Coming back from a hike in the nearby mountain area/woods?
He is not athletic - watch when he bends over for the brush one leg stays straight - too much exertion for him ?
I think def a guy.
Are there any 40-50 ish guys in the neighboring area - that may ne a little "slow
that live with their parents? Or visit frequently? Any houses for sale in the area or vacant - any bomb shelters in that fine area of Tucson?

I hope this is the breakthru they need someone should recognize this guy -

Let it be the answer

I think the ins. has been the ultimate goal, not the ransom, that one does not know if even paid, so if she is assumed as having passed then who would have to gain. the ransom does not seem to be the goal, but the ins. she does not need to be alive to have make out that door.
I’m not stating NG doesn’t have life insurance, but most term insurance jumps significantly in price once you turn 80 years old. She may have whole life insurance or annuities & other assets.

It's a shame AI isn't more advanced/being worked on in a more focused fashion....it would seem that could be trained to eventually "unmask" someone using shape of nose/face etc to give a sketch at least. IMO it isn't reliable enough yet to do so..I'd be concerned what/who it would "hallucinate"/sketch...

I think he is going to have to be identified by body habitus and clothing, cuz that face is likely disguised...
I see a man in 20's/30's....?

Or hopefully someone finds that exact mask, jacket, backpack and shoes shoved in a wardrobe in their partner/son/roommate's bedroom.

The stuff is v useful when taken as an ensemble.

not to be too crass or too morbid, but if this was about family money... NG was an 84 year old woman with heart issues... insurance/inheritance isn't all that far off to have to go to these lengths to get it. just wait a while instead of destroying your family and landing yourself in jail forever where you won't even get to touch that money.

It looked to me like he was looking for the step so he didn’t trip it over it. That’s why the flashlight is briefly switched on. Remember this would have been in the pitch black.
There was a full moon that night so it would have been fairly bright actually

I tend to agree at this point.
Unless they were focusing in on the SIL and one of his friends of associates, meaning that he wasn’t behind it but the connection is to him, to someone he knew or knows, or he owed something to. However, I’d think if it was a possible friend or associate they’d know who that person most likely was by now - unless they have someone under surveillance and are waiting for them to freak out over these images/video and make a run for it, or make some calls. They could be monitoring their phone activity. If a camera was indeed placed on the roof, they may have finger prints or even DNA. They may be waiting for some movement from someone.

This guy came prepared. Someone paid him to do this, don’t you think ? It wouldn’t be just a break in or rape the way he is loaded down. Maybe someone wanted her out of the way ? Maybe there really was a ransom but she passed and they can’t deliver ?
Emphasis mine.
Going with the bolded.
Imo.

Why do they keep involving AG's house in the incident that occurred at her own house?

IMO this person is not as big as he appears. Wearing several layers of tops & bottoms.

well this could have just been the person who came by to stage a kidnapping
(if she never made it back from dinner)
I agree. With all the video in the Missy Bevers case — here we sit in the DFW area with no arrests. I think this was to stage the scene OR someone was already inside the house and this person was doing prep work. I think it still could be female. But so glad we have something to look at!! How frightening to look at your camera alert on your phone and see this. This is my worst nightmare.
