I don’t she did. I think she may have woken up to noises, removal of camera or something. Her front door had two glass panels on each side; she would have seen him on her porch. I think someone came in the back of the house and surprised her.
She apparently wore hearing aides. They are removed at night because they pick up noises from a pillow and your ear being there. So, doubtful she heard much. However, old people get up in the night to use the bathroom - always. She may have realized an intruder then.

FWIW, Harvey Levin on CNN just now reported the photos became available this morning and now there is activity in the bitcoin account.

i do believe the photos were just recovered this morning as reported, but thinking maybe they were released within the last few hours because a deal has been made for the bitcoin to be deposited and NG (or her body, god forbid) to be returned to the family. could it be that they want the public to keep an eye out for the kidnapper-ransomer when he's giving NG back? or would that be too risky to NG's safety...? probably right?

i'm probably too optimistic for my own good.

i can't imagine being a hostage negotiator jfc.

He's using flowers to cover the doorbell cam? And if he is carrying a cell as others have suggested, this guy is no genius. I don't think he is a criminal mastermind. Shades of Bryan Kohberger.
think he has pulled string of lights from plants near front entry to cover doorbell camera not flowers?

I'm so surprised they would send now! When it looks like they may be closing in soon...Wonder what prompted that? Hopefully not a threat or another threat, whichever applies!
If true, it could simply be that it took a while to transfer the money. Large amounts of money have to clear digital hurdles whether via banks, coinbase, whatever.

Perhaps they are tracking it somehow? As the money moved into the account perhaps they waited to trace who accessed it locally? Could explain the swat movements.
For example, one can put a BTC wallet address here, and track all transactions and verifications pertaining to that wallet address (just not a name, only the numeric wallet address) https://www.blockchain.com/explorer

I know alittle bit (but not much) about bitcoin, but can anyone please explain how HL would have the kind of access to see activity in the account? Would be able to see if it was a deposit or withdrawal?
TMZ received the initial ransom note that included the account number. They have monitoring the account for activity, using something like Block Chain. You can see the amount in the account, but not the account holder.

Hoping Bitcoin deposit is LE trying to use a deposit to track the wallet owner, rather than the ransom.

I heard an expert on this case saying it was possible which I now can't find of course, will keep searching. So for now JMO and MOO.

Honestly in today's day and age, with the amount of cameras everywhere and the ability to trace anyone?

It seems pretty stupid to even try to commit a crime. I mean, it is stupid to begin with.....but we are not talking doing something in the 1800s where it was based on witness accounts. Or even in the 1970s-2000 where it was based on fingerprints and then DNA.

Today? It is almost impossible today to commit a crime without being traced somehow. Kind of a pre Minority Report.

This is a possibility I think...

There are crypto wallet trackers/portfolio trackers which allow you to see activity/transactions from that wallet

Did they put money into bitcoin account and LE FBI are positioned or surveilling to be able to see computer activity from suspect.

NOW: Federal agents are canvassing Annie Guthrie's neighborhood on foot. Doing what appears to be a systematic sweep, combing through desert brush and going door-to-door talking to neighbors.

Guy on one of the talking head shows made a good point that they've probably had the evidence for a couple of days but had to assemble and vet it and decide what to do and any risks/contingencies. Don't know if that's true here, but makes sense.

JMO.

DESERT STAKEOUT: Fox News observed FBI agents conducting an on-foot sweep near Annie Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona, canvassing a low-lying desert brush area before moving to the edge of a nearby residential lot. A man at the property briefly spoke with agents and allowed them into his backyard.

4:34 PM PT -- We've seen activity for the first time in the bitcoin account listed in the first ransom note which was sent to us here at TMZ, and also to 2 TV stations in Tucson. For various reasons, we are not going to reveal the amount, but the activity happened in the last 25 minutes.

Potentially big development in the Nancy Guthrie abduction ... our law enforcement sources say whoever kidnapped her from her Arizona home is also from the Tucson area.

Multiple sources involved in the investigation tell TMZ ... the operating theory is that the ransom notes were written by the kidnapper, and those notes provide clues on where the abductor lives.

Nancy Guthrie Kidnapper Likely From Tucson Area, First Activity in Bitcoin Account

Perhaps he was calculating for his best approachbto disabling the camera. Didn't want to touch it directly so grabbed the plant material to use like pot holder, in case he wasn't able to detach it.

Got it off, took it with him.

JMO
Yeah maybe.
