What I don't understand is that even without a subscription to the Nest camera the FBI was able to work with a tech company to unearth the video of the suspect at her door at 2 am. If they could do that why can't they unearth a video of when she was dropped off at her home around 9:45 pm Jan 31st.

This didn't come through with a headline, but it's a good overview of what was likely involved in recovering the Nest doorbell video. There would be evidence of the murder in the house. I don't think LE has said anything to point to that.

I think the backpack has a change of clothes, rope, possibly foot covers as fibers from a car, home, etc would be picked up in the house.

And perhaps NG phone, apple watch, leftover dinner food, change of clothes, snacks. I want to see the proof that NG made it home on 1/31/26.

Anyone else think that gun looked like it had a knob at the end, like a Roth or Japanese Nimbu? That would be an unusual gun.

Very hard to tell from the footage. I originally thought the black grip was a late gen poly semi auto but I'm not even sure anymore. The holster profiles more for a revolver and looks mis-matched, though plenty of wheel guns have a knob like profile grip. Doesn't necessarily narrow it down to anything rare. There is always the possibility it's a dummy gun or something weird like a pistol gripped knife or taser. We just can't tell from these captures.

We have no way of knowing 1) what other videos they may still be working on restoring (we've seen that it took days to recover the clips we have seen, so it's not trivial), and 2) what videos may have been given to the FBI but not yet released. And if they do have a video of her being dropped off by family as the family said, would that warrant release to the public anyway?

And we know they removed the nest camera. Which appears to be what’s happening towards the end of those videos. The camera is disconnected at 1:47am. Which would mean the picture of him without the backpack, IMO, happened first. Which doesn’t really make sense for a variety of reasons but who knows

Or tracking the place he bought all those items. Maybe a shopkeeper remembers someone coming in to buy a ski mask, which is a pretty memorable thing to buy at this time of year in a warm place?

So does the fact he was blocking the camera with them, especially since he had already approached it and walked back to get some. That sounds more far-fetched to me. Just trying to ponder other reasons he'd do that. I'm not convinced he did what I said, it was an idea I was tossing out.

ETA - Plus, he's not even trying to hide behind them, or use them to block his face. Not from this angle. Nope.

We now have video and images of a person of interest in the Nancy Guthrie abduction from her Arizona home more than a week ago.

It just looks more like an offering to me, not like he's using the flowers to shield his face.

All I know is if I was trying to hid my face... 1) I would have done it BEFORE walking up to where there was likely a camera, and 2) I'd do a lot better job than this. My face wouldn't be seen unlike this guy's face.

The items in the video may have been thrown away and could be recovered (backpack, gloves, mask, etc). Someone may see an item and remember seeing it in an unusual spot.

Were they discarded together? Were they purchased together as part of a "mission kit."

Check the walmarts, it's helped in many cases.

We don’t know that they didn’t. Why would they give that info to the public?
