What I don't understand is that even without a subscription to the ring camera the FBI was able to work with a tech company to unearth the video of the suspect at her door at 2 am. If they could do that why can't they unearth a video of when she was dropped off at her home around 9:45 pm Jan 31st.
Do we know for sure that they couldn't get that footage? IMO, there's a high likelihood they have other footage they haven't released.

It just looks more like an offering to me, not like he's using the flowers to shield his face.

All I know is if I was trying to hid my face... 1) I would have done it BEFORE walking up to where there was likely a camera, and 2) I'd do a lot better job than this. My face wouldn't be seen unlike this guy's face.
And with all the prep/outfitting done, you would think it would have occurred to him to come prepared for the possibility of encountering a doorbell camera

Surveillance photo coming!
I saw the photos released this afternoon but just got a chance to watch this video. I had a WOW moment when I heard some of the comments about how the FBI was able to recover the images - especially "The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems." So maybe I wasn't too far off in my Friday post below. I am hoping that they have also been able to recover the images of the person whose movement was captured IN the home!!

Question about NG’s cameras -

It has been said that the doorbell camera was a Nest camera. Were the interior cameras also Nest cameras?

The timeline said -
“2:12 a.m. — The camera's software detects movement, but there is no video available since Guthrie did not have an active subscription with the company, meaning the footage was not saved.” (pbs.org)

Does anyone know if the camera company (i.e. Nest) can retrieve the video from this timeframe even if NG didn’t have a subscription? I can see that IF this is possible that the company may not want the general public to know this. I can also see where LE may also not want the public to know this - especially right now with this case.

It wasn’t a ring camera - it was a nest - a google nest - and google is the “tech” company that helped - make sense they could help with their own equipment. As for not finding her being dropped off - she entered via garage and nest camera on front door couldn’t see the garage door..

Would you pay ransom without "proof of life"?
If a family doesn’t have the money, they just can’t. The person who took her had to know the family could pay it. For that reason alone, if it was my mother and I had the money, i would pay it without proof of life. Money can be replaced. It’s always the right thing to try to get your relative back.

And we know they removed the nest camera. Which appears to be what’s happening towards the end of those videos. The camera is disconnected at 1:47am. Which would mean the picture of him without the backpack, IMO, happened first. Which doesn’t really make sense for a variety of reasons but who knows
Wasn't there an earlier news clip with neighbors being interviewed and stating they were asked for.m camera footage closer to midnight? Is it possible that's why there is a discrepancy. The no gun footage from close to midnight, the other from 1:47?

We don’t know that they didn’t. Why would they give that info to the public?
Did she have a garage camera? If she was dropped and went in through the garage, there may not be any footage to unearth.

I wonder if they will get any images or video off the camera they found on the roof?

That's what a guy on CNN said; usually they would bring a can of spray paint and paint over the camera

According to CNN, Google assisted in getting the video: https://www.cnn.com/2026/02/10/tech/google-video-nancy-guthrie

Quote from article: "But Nest still saves around three hours of “event-based” video history for free before being deleted. That data lives in Google’s cloud and servers. Even if the data had been deleted from Google’s systems, it could still exist somewhere and be recoverable because even files slated for deletion can exist until they are overwritten by new data, said Nick Barreiro, an audio-video forensic analyst and the founder of Principle Forensics."

I wonder if AG has a live in nanny/housekeeper/au pair. Perhaps with a criminal element boyfriend. It would explain a search of their home and law enforcement activity near her house.
I have been wondering who was at that dinner that night. Maybe more than just the family of 3. Neighbors? And was there talk of SG and NG living all alone in a big home that was too much for her to take care of??

Also wondering now if they have NG body. Found on her property, somehow, on the 2nd search, days ago. And all this other stuff has been to draw out the perp.

LE probably has a lot more video/evidence than they are sharing with the public. At least I hope so.

Exactly. I'd think all it would take is an inch of so of painter's tape. That could have even been stuck on his arm with one end sticking up so he could grab it, walk up onto the porch with his head down so unseen, and cover the lens. But he didn't do ANY of that. That's why I'm stuck on him NOT using a few flower stems to block a camera! I mean... c'mon.
