I’m watching CNN and just saw the photo of the suspect without the backpack, gun and eyes covered. I wonder when this was? Anyone able to find the pic to link? I have a screenshot from my TV.

So is the theory that there was someone waiting in a getaway car off camera? Nancy couldn't walk very far, apparently.

AI still can't reconstruct a face. It will just make the most average face it can produce from the material it was trained on.
That's probably true I just thought the call out was a bit rude, to be honest. But to each their own

I have messed up some rules here too, and people have nicely let me know I was wrong. Or a mod has handled.

Former Navy Seal commander Dan O’Shea discussed the decision to release the footage in an interview with Sky News Australia this morning.

He said releasing the footage so publicly was a risk, but one that could help to flush out the suspect.

“This ups the game… he knows he has a target on his back and he’s in a desperate situation,” O’Shea said.

“Let’s hope this puts pressure on this individual to let her go and try and sneak away.”

O’Shea also argued that the release of the footage reveals how desperate the authorities must be, as they are willing to show the suspect that they have footage that could help identify them.

O’Shea said that, based on the footage, the suspect appears to beobviously a man... he looks like he’s over 200 pounds (90kg).

Authorities said today that the images from the security camera had been “previously inaccessible.”

Dan O'Shea really knows what he's talking about having worked many, many hostage situation in the Middle East, primarily Iraq

I don't typically post so I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered... Is anyone familiar with the type of vegetation the perp pulled out and whether or not it has any prickles on it? I ask because I'm curious if the gloves worn by the perp may have been punctured. Thank you.
Lantana. No prickles. But great question.

I was right. It

It's always felt to me that he wasn't using the flowers to cover the doorbell cam because he didn't get them before approaching, and with all in that backpack he could have brought something that actually worked to cover it, like duct tape. Plus, you have to admit some flowers is NOT a very good camera block.

With all that said... it just feels to me like he was holding them out for the camera to capture them. Why? Absolutely NO clue. Only he knows why he did that. But, it feels to me like there was a purpose (other than trying to block the lens).

Maybe part of his communication to the family, that only he'd know, is "I held out flowers to the camera". That way LE knew they had the right guy that was communicating thru the ransom letters. It took a while before those images were released so that very well could be what the purpose of holding them up would be.

JMO!!!
Then why didnt he just leave the camera mounted?

FWIW this is also how crypto thieves can access your main account. I have had small random deposits made into my account. I was instructed by the brokerage to absolutely not accept them.
This is an interesting theory. Maybe the FBI is attempting to break into the account to see there is any identifiable details.

Would an Army only helicopter ever be involved in the search like this?

In one picture, he is staring stright ahead at the front door like he's waiting on her to open it. He looks like a visitor who is comfortable there. Weird.
If NG did not use her front door regularly, a visitor could have unlocked it prior to Saturday night and she may not have noticed. Maybe that explains the lack of damage to the front door. It wasn't locked.

I wonder if that is related to whatever this chopper has been doing just to the north and west of NG home?

No, as a black hawk mechanic - imo it's not related . That's a U.S Army Black Hawk doing terrain flight training.

Probably not. Sheriff’s office has its own helicopters.

I think it's less a rules issue and more of a misunderstanding of how AI works issue.
