A reporter, Ford Hatchet, said Pima Sheriff's Dept told him medical helicopter not related to this case. I was so hopeful it might be.
I'm not giving up hope! I really don't think they would say just yet, imagine the chaos if they confirmed it...jmho

Police officers have cordoned off Camino Agosto, a road near Interstate 19 in Rio Rico, Ariz., about an hour’s drive south of Tucson, where investigators are carrying out a search related to the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

I wouldn't want to be there on a Saturday night, unless your idea of excitment is Pilot Truck Stop or Love's Truck Stop. There is a Subway at Love's and a Joe's Mexican Diner Joe's food truck and a Wendy's at the Pilot Truck Stop. That's the only gig in town. Sounds real exciting.
Oh thanks for the overview! :) So sounds really small and quiet and a transient/pass through kinda town? Truck stop USA, fun! lol

Close to the border might be convenient if perps have to flee, sounds like the person(s) might live there.

If the town is as small and quiet as it’s purported to be, I’d imagine anyone wheeling up with an elderly kidnap victim would be pretty noticeable, especially in a densely built neighborhood.

I’m wondering if the detainee is a potential informant rather than the perpetrator.

As per a google search:

"Rio Rico, Arizona, is located in a high-intensity drug trafficking area near the Mexican border, often utilized by cartels for smuggling contraband into the US. The region is a known corridor for the Sinaloa Cartel, which uses southern Arizona routes for transporting drugs to major distribution points like Tucson and Phoenix."

Yes, more than one person involved makes sense: One to do the dirty work of kidnapping Nancy, one who knows how to exchange bitcoin, and maybe a tech expert that knows how to use VPNs to mask location. MOO
You do not need to be a tech expert to use VPNs.

With all the truck stops, would they use a big truck/semi? That would look normal maybe?

IMO this is not cartel related at all. Financial motive from someone known to Nancy is my bet.

Not upside down. This is the northwest side of Rio Rico across the interstate.
Google maps shows Camino Agosto is to the west (left) of W. Frontage, but the image here shows it to the east (right). Maybe it's just late and I'm upside down.
