But she also answered a question about his name. She didn't mean harm, but that was cringe.

jmo
Not criticizing her, the woman was stressed, and the journalists took advantage.

I feel bad for him, too. He’ll be surrounded by suspicion until it’s resolved, and so will his wife and children
I wonder what the specifics were for detaining him in the first place. Sorry if I missed them.

  • #21,403
I don't think it's related at all. There is another big national and controversial issue involving flights to El Paso that has nothing to do with a celebrity's mom.

My Opinion
Ahh, maybe just a big coinky-dink that it closed then reopened with the same timing as the detaining and release...gotcha.

It's pretty obvious to me he had nothing to do with this. He and his MIL have been very forthcoming. Hopefully there isn't too much suspicion out there. MOO.

First of all I refuse to believe that this person was detained solely on someone calling in a tip about his eyes. Come on now that’s not what happens. His phone showed he was in the area at some time and his van may also have been in the area. Who knows what else LE may have had. Also since he was released means nothing. He may have had information that was valuable, we don’t know. He may have seen something. I don’t think they ever said he was a suspect or POI. They aren’t going to read him his rights until they question him. BE was doing what journalists do. Im going to sit back and see what happens next.
BBM:

'FBI Director Kash Patel said that law enforcement is looking into multiple persons of interest in the search for Nancy Guthrie'

"Without polluting the investigation, I will say we have made substantial progress in these last 36-48 hours, thanks to the technical capabilites of the FBI and our partnerships, and I do believe we are looking at people who, as we say, are persons of interest, but as you know with any investigation, you're a person of interest until you're either eliminated or you're actually found to bethe culprit of the culprits involved and that's the stage we're at right now."

I think his phone was probably on a list FBI have of those that pinged in the neighbourhood. Perhaps they then cross referenced the list with tips. If they received several tips about him (for whatever reason), and they saw he lived close to the border (potential escape), that could have made it urgent to detain and question him. Obvs I am speculating and there could be any number of reasons why they zoned in on him but I don’t see anything that suggests to me LE botched this.

All imo.

I noticed the "bulk" too. And I can't stop thinking the eyes are a woman's.
I think this thread is teaching me that a lot of people have never met a man with pretty eyes! I think everyone here would think my husband is a woman if we were going on eyes alone

The Media Coverage is TOO MUCH and I fear it may cause serious consequences for the investigation.

Imagine if you are the person holding Nancy (if that’s ever been a thing), and you see this all unfolding. I’m going to call it quits, get rid of evidence and hopefully disappear.

Nancy never comes home, alive or deceased.

I think this has turned into a circus and it’s appalling

MOO
“Media” coverage is driven by public interest.

Don’t forget that (understandably) the family has released four videos with the explicit hope that the good old media disseminate and amplify them nationwide.

And also that NBC colleagues, plus SG’s friend Jake Tapper at CNN, have said that they are using their platforms to help their friend.

Can’t have it both ways. The media serves an important function in a case like this. Not least of which is making sure LE maintains a sense of urgency.

I thought the eyes looked womanly too, but you can also see some mustache and possibly goatee peeking out from the mask.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Could the subject be wearing a bullet-proof vest? I, too, thought the eyes look feminine.

I was responding to the poster who said she took 17 meds. Read their post.
By the way, this is way too common. I worked in an assisted living center and saw it myself. Here’s how it goes, at any age. You are prescribed a medication and you have side affects. Then the doctor will give you a medication for the side affects which produce more side affects and so on. It’s especially dangerous if an elderly person sees more than one doctor which is also common. Doctors generally don’t do research. The pharmaceutical rep tells them what to prescribe based on the latest meds. The AMA follows along. I know this to be true as I also worked for a doctor. I’m elderly and I am my own advocate. I will not take a pill without researching interactions and side affects.
My husband takes 11 each day and doctors seem unconcerned and almost annoyed when I inquire about which ones should or should not be taken at the same time. They shut me down and say "refer to the medication list" even though there is no info there about side effects. If NG was taken by someone close, I was thinking she may have been given yet another medication at the dinner Saturday night to ensure she slept soundly.

I'm old enough to remember when FBI Directors stayed mum until the resolution of a case. They were no on social media, rarely, if ever did interviews and did not discuss cases with the president. Those were the days..........JUST MY RECOLLECTION

IA and I think this is going to continue to happen until they find the actual perpetrator(s).

I think it was a vehicle spotted somewhere and I say this because a reporter showed CP's mother-in-law something and asked if that was his and she affirmed it. JMO.
hmm....maybe hoping for a dashcam? A lot of delivery services require them for insurance purposes. If that was the case though, wouldn't a simple phone call suffice?

El Paso airport announced closed for 10 days last night for national security concern. All flights canceled. Now reopened this morning. Has to be related! MOO
Fort Bliss would be capable of shutting flights down for 'National Security.' I don't believe a missing person's case would be elevated to 'National Security.'

It's not just that NG daughter is a journalist; she's a journalist on a MSM morning news show. That feels like a personal connection to a lot of people. Parasocial, but still important in relation to social media consumption and clicks. It’s being taken too far. MOO

Then again, the media presence makes it harder for police to abuse POI in vulnerable communities, or to arrest a scapegoat just to make it seem as though they’re achieving something.

It’s not the media’s fault that this case hasn’t been solved.
The media made this guys name known. Without that coverage, the police would have just reported a poi was questioned and released. No big circus. IMO. Police investigate leads. There is no instant here, like a tv show. This isn’t entertainment imo.

That would mean her family was involved. I pray that you are wrong.
Whoever this was though, had to know her schedule. He wasn’t in a hurry.
About your husbands meds, you can Google each one. Google will usually answer as best they can but will also refer you to a site that compares meds and tells you any side affects or dangers. I don’t recall the site at this moment but it’s very good.
ETA: I found it. It is drugs.com

An airport is a major economic engine. Closing one has huge logistical and financial ripple effects for myriad people, companies, units like the postal service, and on things like mandated limits on flying hours for crew.

There is no way an airport is going to be shut down because of a lead in a single-person kidnapping case, no matter how famous the case. No way.
