Yet, no arrest, no real interrogation. Cars were turned back over and LE left like nothing happened. If that was their best lead at this point, the investigation is in trouble.
Exactly and then they just revert back to AG's house again for the thousandth time -

It seems the perp(s) planned for NG to exit through the front door. I don't know why. Because they didn't want to drive down the driveway but stay in front with the car? idk

jmo
Hi sorry I’m behind I wanted to ask about the front door so I apologize if asked/answered. Did the suspect actually open the front door? Like we can see this? I asked because if he didn’t maybe his role was to kind of just wait for the front door to open and someone in the house already is coming out with NG. I say this probably at least 200 pages behind and after working all day. Plus BC shooting also. A lot of people were pointing out last night how he looked like he didn’t know what he was doing he was fumbling he grabbed the plant with his left or right hand…so I thought maybe he was great at his part in it because he was just the muscle to carry someone.

But again apologies trying to catch up.

Iranian sleeper cell - that is the only thing that makes sense at this point.

It sounds crazy to me as well but this is obviously bigger than what any of us originally thought.

I think there are negotiations going on behind the scenes and Nancy is still alive.

The non payment of the bitcoin ransom and Savannah's solo plea makes sense now.

I'm not concerned with multiple visits to AG's home. There's often a lot of back and forth with witnesses and victims. AG is both. What does concern me is the scrutiny paid to her neighborhood and the supposed removal of evidence from her home. Something is leading them in that direction.
Multiple visits with evidence kits over days, including a night of flash photography leaving clearly gloved up with evidence bags on more than one occasion is not typical nor a good look. They are not using evidence kits and gloved up to retrieve TC's toothbrush or feed the guppies. And btw they are walking out with latex gloves still on holding an evidence kit suitcase in full view of the media that they are very aware of, more than once, so make of that what you will.

Now COUPLE that with multiple brush searches in the immediate neighborhood (right after the key cam footage was released) AND canvasing that neighborhood door to door (not NG's ) is a dubious combination.

Oh thank god the family hired a private investigator. I was talking about this yesterday hoping they had one.

If you have money this is definitely the way to go just as long as you have enough money for the best.
JMO
I hope they did and it is someone good (aka former FBI) esp. with the way the keep reverting back to AG - after yesterday's brief interlude.

There have been loads of

I wonder if they vetted who sent the pizza?

It reminds me of “pizza gate” with JE. Not saying there is any association, but just what came MY mind.
It was a JLR fan who lives in Oregon. The Pizza Delivery guy put her on speakerphone as she told him the pizzas were for him. I was watching the LIVE when it all went down. It was strange because the Domino's dude was allowed to walk up to NG's door. LE didn't stop him.

It was his in-laws that said that.
  • Carlos Palazuelos told Fox News that he was the person detained for questioning during the traffic stop but that he had nothing to do with the case. He said he makes deliveries in the Tucson area and that investigators asked him about his recent whereabouts. He said authorities showed his in-law a picture of someone wearing a mask and "they supposedly looked like my eyes."
So sad. IMO The eye obsession on social media has gotten out of control. I have two coworkers whose eyes could possibly fit what we see (without the shadows lightened and using the technology the FBI has). I can’t imagine them going through this

My thoughts on the cameras, based on this article:

“'The cameras will record to the servers as long as they have internet. According to Nest, without a subscription, usually they are quickly overwritten by next images. But if the camera is disconnected, there should be nothing to overwrite on the server,' [longtime private investigator Andy Kay told Page 6]. Essentially, if someone does not have a subscription to the service, it’s almost like a livestream being sent to the server: new images override previous images. However, because this was the last image before the suspected kidnapper disconnected the camera, it’s the last thing that was sent to the server and therefore able to be recovered."

The footage we've seen is from the disconnected camera, which the perp was aware of or at least anticipated might be present. The other, later alert, reported at 2:12 a.m., is from a camera that the perp did not know was there and thus did not disconnect, allowing the footage to be overwritten. That could be a back door camera if they decided to enter through the back or it could be an interior camera, but regardless, it was one they were not aware of.

If it's from an interior camera, the window from 1:47 a.m. to 2:12 a.m. could've been spent trying to figure out a point of entry and/or pick a lock, force a sliding door, jimmy open a window, etc.

The 2:12 a.m. to 2:28 a.m. window is pretty clearly when most of the bad stuff went down.

IMO, this all points away from family. I'm totally stumped beyond that, though.
We know LE removed other cameras from the exterior of her home. The sheriff also said the camera detected motion at 2:12am but it could have been an animal. MOO but I assume that camera was outside.

Which seems even stranger if the suspect still hasn’t gone inside ~30 minutes after disabling the doorbell camera

Sometimes the motive is "just because."

It might be as unimaginable as that.

Carlos, the man detained in Rio Rico interviewed. As far as reason for being detained, he said all he knows his is eyes might have resembled the person in the video.

The fact that he brandished at the door and was masked and gloved on a moderate night indicated to me he was stupid and wanted to intimidate the person behind the door.

If it was a random homeowner they would immediately see that and there would be no doubt of his intentions (can't use the delivery, utility guy ruse checking on an emergency etc), and would act accordingly (hit siren, get gun, call 911), Most pros don't show their cards until they get inside. He knew he had easy prey, or was irrationally stupid, or had someone on the inside (I doubt that but possible) or a combo of these things. Still very interested about the details of the "forced entry" he did not open that welded security door without a key.
Or putting on a show for the camera. Can't be assumed to be a kidnapping if a kidnapper doesn't show up on camera.

This feels more personal. Is someone holding a grudge against NG or one of her family members? Does the kidnapper have some twisted agenda?

Someone upthread mentioned the potential of a crazed stalker. I mention it because it's in the realm of possibility, but it's not my favorite theory at this point. Note that I have been wrong many times.

Stating the obvious here, but kidnappings are rare in the 21st century in the US. Why NG? I hope we will have answers soon. And my prayers are with her family.

All MOO
Agree 100%. I've been trying to wrap my head around the possible motivators for kidnapping NG:

Money - always a possibility

Revenge - against something SG reported on, probably fairly recently but possibly long ago

Threat - (SG) Keep your mouth shut, we can get you

I keep coming back to this having to do with SG's celebrity. I'm not familiar with her work but I'm not aware of any recent reporting on anything terribly controversial. But she could also be a proxy for any national reporter if it was meant as a threat.

I'm fairly confident this will be solved. It's a question of when. And after almost two weeks I don't think it is looking good for NG.

However, his mother in law stated that she was shown a picture after the fact and was told by agents agents that CP looked like him and that's why they detained him and that's why they were at her house.

The article doesn't say that the in-law called in the tip. Convoluted grammar in the article.

I know this is kind of far fetched but could the perps be a terrorist cell?
Terrorist cells make statements early on to promote their cause and take responsibility. I'm not aware of any terrorist cells operating now as such, but I certainly remember the ones from 70s and 80s.

Yes, but a neighbor/friend was supposed to pick her up to bring her to that "group" viewing. And when she didn't answer the door, the neighbor/friend called her family. I'm sorry, I thought that's what you were questioning.
We don't know if she was supposed to be picked up or not by the friend. Only that she was meeting with friends to watch the church sermon. Moo

ok imo those dont look like "evidence" bags per se more of a pickup. The guy with the latex gloves go their mail. The other guy with the bags had no gloves on.
Agreed. That looked like a grocery bag, open at top. Carrier had no gloves.

Anything is possible but it sure seems contrived to suddenly kill your 84 year old mother & then concoct an entire costumed show for a camera in 1 night..jmo
