I still think it's possible that Nancy was taken away because something unexpected happened in the home.....she may have recognized his voice, she may have tried to protect herself by fighting back which resulted in having his DNA on her, or she could have scratched his exposed skin somehow....... or we can't discount a SA. Perp may also have panicked for whatever reason and wanted her to "disappear", we don't know his mindset.

If one is in severe danger, even an 84 year old lady's adrenaline could result in extra strength, if she fought. I in fact I know of a local case here where a 91 year old lady managed to extricate herself from a fence that collapsed on her. She was considered frail and her family was flabbergasted she somehow was able to do this.

Not entirely convinced that a perp in a home invasion or robbery would ALWAYS leave a killed victim behind.
Sure it's rare but we don't know what happened inside that awful night.
Right, worry about DNA being discovered might make a suspect take the body with them, although it's extremely problematic.

Since this guy has a tattoo that is partly visible on his wrist-- does anyone know if Arizona prisons take pictures of inmates tattoos? It's not unlikely this guy has served time before.
I just went through all the pictures that were released and in every one his sleeves come down over the top of the gloves covering all of his skin, so I do not see a tattoo. Can you post a photo of the alleged tattoo? Thanks.

Holster was made for a revolver. Gun was not a revolver.
What does it say about this guy that the gun does not fit the holster? He has no knowledge of guns? He was in a hurry and grabbed the wrong gun or holster? Someone gave it to him for this crime so he had to use it? He is not very bright, etc?

Just my opinion, but there's a reason LE is keeping a focus on AG and TC's home - they have reasons. Because if someone simply left your home and went back to their own home, LE wouldn't care about what was inside your home. The fact that LE has focused more attention there, than at NG's home, says something. We can speculate as to what may have happened, but it wouldn't be the first time a middle aged person wanted to start a different life; and if you can have the cash and another country to live in, that can happen. Just my opinion, but to me it explains alot, and why the masked person was bumbling around NG's house (they knew she wasn't there); trying to make it look like that is where stuff happened. In that case, you'd WANT to be seen on a front door camera; create a boogey-man...Just my opinion and speculation, so take it with a grain of salt, fwiw.
My opinion is they are focusing on them b/c they were the last to see her alive + close relatives and so they keep returning to the usual answer. But now there is so much more that makes it appear less likely. Why would they need to do all of this to kill her for money? She is 84 time is on their side here in terms of getting an inheritance. ETA: Originally the main scenario I had though of was if the SIL did it was something along the lines of there was some non publicized acrimony or issue that NG confronted him about on the ride home and he accidentally killed her b/c she said she was going to disclose the issue to her daughter (his wife) - but I really think the masked man pretty much removes that theory.

Do we know if NG's home has had intruders or been burglarized in the past? She has a number of cameras but I have not heard if those were installed recently due to some event. Also, we don't know if those multiple entry points were well-secured.

One thing I have learned following cases is sometimes a home can appear to be secure but the security features are not adequate. Sliding glass doors are especially vulnerable and are sometimes inadvertently left unlocked, giving easy access to intruders.

We don't know but to this point an elderly neighbor interviewed said it was such a safe neighborhood and they don't always lock doors. Also it was mentioned that her security cams were mainly for "viewing wildlife". I have still not heard anything definitive about an alarm or the exact point of breach (as it was reported that there was signs of forced entry) and am very curious about the details of that.

An ex FBI agent reporting from the scene was shocked how dark it is in that neighborhood at night (due to Tucson's low light ordinance) and that the house was set back and neighbor's could not see it, saying it was very vulnerable.

We do know she had workers coming and going on the property (some have been DNA swabbed per FBI, I believe they mentioned the pool guy and landscapers) and a neighbor said she recently had the roofs re-surfaced (you can see how clean and white they are in the drone videos).

How do you know no DNA was recovered from the scene?

If it was, then at this point in the game he would probably not be an American criminal. And if that was the case he could've painted the walls with his DNA if he wanted to.

But if that guy was “cleared” why is DD posting about it today? Strange …
CP himself that he was told that he was free to go, but he may be called in for more investigation. He was not sure which agency cleared him and which might want to talk to him again. This is from an abc15.com interview, starts at 2:18.

Going way back, does anyone know if the child of AG and TC was home at the time of NG's visit?

Very interesting interviews by Brian Entin of a former homicide detective of Pima county aswell as a retired under sheriff of Pima county, who also worked with sheriff Nanos.
They give their professional view on the case.
Worth to watch IMO

Great interview. Impressed with BE and the questions he asks. Sound like Chris Nanos has a problem with micromanaging. It says he’s known to “stifle creativity within the agency”.

If the ransom was paid on Monday the kidnapper did not release Nancy. Probably never had her.
Assuming the ransom writer was not involved in the abduction this appears to be a well planned break in. It for what purpose?

And all of these people or many of them are familiar with her home and that an elderly well off woman lives alone..

True, but Richard Allen didn't demand a digital currency ransom from an apparently untraceable crypto account, nor bounce an evidently spoofed IP from Tajikistan to Neptune. And perhaps even from Neptune to Rio Rico, AZ.

JMO.
I believe the ransom is unrelated to the original crime and just sick opportunists taking advantage of a chaotic and sad situation, but I can understand and respect that if you believe the events are related, the criminal(s) could be sophisticated.

The whole outfit was rag-tag, not professional and "off". It seemed cheap and makeshift, so maybe a desperate person, poor, very inexperienced, or whacko.

--Cheap $5 bin holster that profiled for a longer revolver, yet he had dark what looks like late gen poly semi auto in it.
--Awkward open-carry low handing version of appendix carry when he approached the door.
--$15 Ozark trail backpack from Walmart with reflective strips that glow on IR night cameras!!
---Thick nitrile or butyl gloves that made him fumble when picking up the latanas/disabling doorbell cam and would be useless if he had to quickly use his gun.
--Mouth light that transfers saliva

Some experts have insinuated this is all amateurish and off cause, well, the guy is probably off.

Edit: it almost comes off like an edgy teenager cosplaying kidnapper the way it's thrown together. and i am not convinced he had a real firearm in there. Could be a replica or airsoft, displayed to threaten an old lady and would explain why it was awkwardly stuffed in a discount bin pistol holster.

does it? if you did it, wouldn't you want to create a visual of an armed person at the other property - so folks, like you are, think oh, it couldn't be THAT person...

there’s been all this focus on SG’s fame and political interviews as being a possible motivator, but I just had a thought (I’m sure it’s not original): is it possible NG was kidnapped because of a beef or a debt owed by AG/TC? Sure, there are always wack jobs that are celebrity obsessed and it makes sense that the object of their ire may be SG, but what if it’s not?

AG and TC wouldn’t be able to pay that ransom (presumably) but SG could.

So he kills and hides her body to get an inheritance hopefully in a couple of years when she is declared dead so that then he can leave his wife? I originally thought maybe NG confronted him on the ride home about something she was going to disclose to her daughter/his wife and they had a conflict and he accidentally killed - but I think the masked man on the porch pretty much solidifies this is not it.

Then they would have paid it...and it would have been over imo

This is very very interesting.....
Do we know WHICH neighbor was discussing the newish look to Nancy's roof? yesterday????
I wonder if it was a totally different neighbor or the same family (right across the street) who own the roofing company.

moo.
Im sorry if I missed it but I did a quick search through the posts and couldn’t find anything. Do we know if LE has ruled out staff from the roofing company who supposedly redid her roof? Not sure if this is an allowable source but Yahoo claims NG’s camera on the roof was likely installed by the perp. If it’s a new roof, and there’s a camera that was installed by the perp, one could see why the roofing company would be helpful to talk to: Nancy Guthrie's Roof Camera Is 'One of the Most Important Clues': Expert (Excl)
