I saw this site when Hannah Kobayashi went missing, and I posted once about her case. I'm not a regular to this site, so please excuse any potential violations of the written and unwritten rules.

But I wanted to say something, because I'm really bothered by the Adult Protective Services (APS) business card on Nancy Guthrie's front door. I am a physician and have worked in an affiliated relationship with APS in my state. APS generally does not get involved with an older adult unless an APS report is filed. This can come from anyone: friends, family, medical providers, financial representatives, etc. But it is usually filed because someone is worried that an older adult is suffering from abuse. There are five primary types of abuse: neglect, self-neglect, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and financial abuse. It does not seem like Nancy Guthrie was suffering from self-neglect: she doesn't have markers of self-neglect, like malnutrition, poor hygiene, or hoarding behaviors. So that likely means that someone suspected neglect, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and/or financial abuse. These are all perpetrated on an older adult, by someone else -- so someone may have suspected that Nancy Guthrie was being abused by someone else. APS can turn this information over to law enforcement -- they usually work closely with law enforcement.

Is this why law enforcement has focused so heavily on on Nancy Guthrie's family, especially her family that lives in Tucson?

One more thing: I've seen patients bleed and then try to leave the ER or hospital against medical advice. Bleeding, while walking or being transported, leaves a linear bloodstain. It's one blood drop, then another, and then a line of blood drops. Like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. That's not the blood trail around Nancy Guthrie's front entrance.
Thank you for this, and welcome back.
That business card has been weighing heavily on my mind. Now that I've read your post, I wonder if NG had a recent doctors appointment, or possibly an issue at her financial institution(s)? Someone may have reached out to APS on her behalf and they came to visit her. Would there be a file under her name at APS if the case were in the very beginning stages?
I wonder, too, if this is why her church friend was so worried about her that morning.
IMO.

And this, kids, is why we should have all paid attention in Algebra and Geometry class.
If the word problems would've been about burglers and kidnappers, maybe more would!

according to the FBI website, arrests for robbery and murder are over 80% male.

the odds of it being a woman are astronomically low.
A 20% chance is not “astronomically low”

It’s wild if those are the mask and gloves because what kinda dumb doesn’t just burn or shred them
or flush them down the toilet

edit: yes, i know, you'd have to cut up the mask to avoid clogging.

Does someone hand him another backpack over the fence? Or am I seeing things? Ughhh I need to be working but dang……
I think he's alone. If you watch closely when he approaches the gate, I can see the gun holster swing out from his waist. He also has his jacket unzipped and places his hand at his waist a couple of time, probably because the gun keeps swinging out. I think it's the same dude. It's at the 10-11 second part. Why would someone try to scare her as previously reported? Why abduct her on a weekend? Those are major clues because it's hard to get a large amount of money when banks are closed and the people involved May have day jobs.

A person yesterday posted that both that mouth flashlight and the gloves are habitually used by mechanics.
(Not that this perp is a mechanic)

Only thing about mechanics habitually using mouth lights is that they have many metal surfaces to mount magnetic lights on, and typically use those instead (in my experiences with them generally and in working on cars sometimes myself).

However, HVAC, electricians, plumbers, pest control, etc. would likely need a light like this in the atypically visited and cramped locations they often find themselves around a home or business.

To me, the body and movements are distinctly male. The suspect has a square head, wider shoulders with straight hips. The ski mask lays tight against the skull, indicating short or close cropped hair. I also think he's possibly wearing a mask inside the ski mask, which is why so many are thrown off with the eyebrows. JMO.
Agreed, about 2 masks. Maybe a female looking one underneath, to throw off facial recognition.

Right? Basically anything except leave them on the road to get caught..

almost seems like it’s done to throw a new direction or something

Can’t be that stoops can they lol

My guess is that this guy thought that if he had a layer of clothing, gloves, etc., possibly on top of an inner layer of clothing, gloves, etc., that the outer layer would protect him from getting fingerprints or DNA on things. So he thought the outer layer could be discarded and he'd be safe. Just as he apparently thought that the ski mask (and any possible inner masks) would protect his features from being recognized.

I agree about the day of the week.

Totally agree. You can see the other, unrelated guy’s face/bald head and no gloves. That happened in a really bad area of Tucson too, with a high population of drug users. IMO it’s just a guy on drugs looking to steal something and is definitely not related to NG. MOO though.
Discussing a bald head, wouldn't it seem a man planning a crime might shave his body hair in order not to leave DNA?

Yeah I mean maybe but still why? Discarding them can be done in so many other protected ways. It just seems either really dumb or purposeful (as a distraction is all I have)

ooh, i see something in the front there too. only for a split second, though. can't tell what it is.

IF it is a gun and holster, that would be pretty compelling.

No direct sources on why they think these items are the brand listed, but grabbed larger images for anyone that wants them.

They think the jacket is 2XU brand, the gun holster Uncle Mike's, the nitrite gloves Hyper Tough, and the backpack Ozark Trail. I know there's been some chatter about Ozark Trail. All four of the items I just listed appear to be sold at Walmart. They think the ski mask is Rothco, which they've found online.
This seems to be a good fit for the mask. Apologies if this has already been linked.

My money is on dumb. I mean, look at the bit with the flowers.

Love to see this. Dislike how every (or almost every) movement of LE is visible to the public. While we can infer what they are doing here, we don’t need to see it.
Yes I would they hink they put it up due to reporters and gawkers.
