I happen to think that NG was targeted because of her famous daughter. If you have not see this Today episode it is quite interesting in light of the events.
SG has done other shows with her children featured. I don't know how she will move on after this. This will make celebrities take a serious look at exposing their families to any media.
Yes; saw this earlier on national news. How unfortunate.

Unless they have suspect in mind and the perp's not a repeat offender, sadly, DNA on the gloves could go nowhere, right? Think JBR.

If anyone's been in enlisted in the military it's very easy to understand the thinking of an everyday agent to think leadership is slow or redundant. But reality is not every soldier (agent in this case) may know how it's working at the top of the chain.
Not just military. The corporate world is like this too. At the low levels, you think leadership are clueless. Once you're in leadership, you realize how much context you were missing before. (Maybe you become a bit clueless too, as you become more removed from the day-to-day work. But it's not the whole story.)

So, yeah, it makes sense to me if people in the field are frustrated and people at the top feel that it's not justified. JMO

12 days to find that glove, this is incompetence happening right in front of us. Unbelievable. At least they got DNA from it. Also to the poster who said Minnesota had too many Somalians ("Somalia aka Minnesota"), how sad is your life for you to say bs like that.

They can maybe do genetic genealogy to find out close relatives, leading to perp.

sorry to you american folks but the FBI are coming across as idiots here!

putting up a tent to recreate nightime conditions??.....i aint Einstein but if they just waited a few hours mother nature would have created "nightime conditions" for them!!

not for the first time i am left wondering just what kind of clowns are being employed to run this investigation?
Not to mention they were out in the middle of the night in the desert searching under the flora and fauna for…? Looks like they have their days and nights mixed up.

Maybe they already have….

Whenever LE agencies start bickering in the press, that means the investigation is treading water and they want to shift blame.

Not looking good for NG.

Gloves inside the home on Day 12. I just don't get it. Someone please help me.
I don't understand it, either.

Fox News reported today that 2 gloves were recently found down the road.

In terms of the one found inside the house, we don't know when it was collected or sent to the lab by the Sheriff.

not with the advancement of genetic genealogy. if they do get/have dna i feel good enough about their ability to find a suspect that way.

It takes a great deal of training to carry out a mission perfectly under stressful and time sensitive situations. Military, LE, Fire, etc., train constantly so it is routine for them. They go on automatic in an emergency or mission. Their gear and weapons are all designed for the job and used in the training process. But we can see that young amateur criminals have none of that and mistakes are going to be made.

Especially when events do not go as planned. The military and LE are trained for mishaps and the unexpected. But young amateurs may panic and do stupid things.
I can imagine that if he had to do anything requiring dexterity, at least the outer glove layer would need to come off. Tying rope, using tape, brandishing a firearm, etc.

'Where things stand

• Reward grows: The FBI is increasing its reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie or an arrest. They described the suspect seen in doorbell footage as a 5’9” - 5’10” tall male with an average build.

• Multiple gloves found: Evidence recovered by investigators includes multiple gloves. It’s unclear whether authorities believe they were worn by the suspect.

• Day 12 of investigation: Guthrie’s Tucson neighbors have been asked to submit any footage from doorbell cameras that includes cars and people from about four weeks before the 84-year-old went missing. Meanwhile, “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie shared a home video of her mother, saying “we will never give up on her.”

Jan 11, plus the crime date Jan 31-Feb. 1. Then it was expanded to all of Jan.

Thank you!! Looks unrelated to the dates of the searches.

EDIT: I still think the searches could be relevant.

True. If they find DNA but there's no match in the database, it remains unknown. Let's hope not.

Different world. By the time I buy my coffee in Manhattan I am recorded probably 50 times or more.
Our NYPD DAS is always watching…

I’m surprised CCTV-free zones still exist anywhere. But this part of Tucson seems to be one?

While many were criticizing the Moscow investigation, there did not seem to be any infighting.

Is Quantico on the same level as other government labs? The FL lab might be great, but I think if I were Nanos in these circumstances, I would hand off the ball.
2 sides to every story. Sheriff's explanation makes sense. Use the same labs and the one they use in FLA has an excellent reputation. Just seems to be a lot of people badmouthing him - this FBI person who said Sheriff wasn't sharing key evidence, former 40 year employee, etc. Not sure what that's about but it's not necessarily about competence. I agree with you. When I first got the news alert about Nancy having gone missing, the first thing I thought was that someone had taken her to get at SG. That thought hasn’t changed.

Catalina Foothills is part of the greater metropolitan area of Tucson but isn't actually in Tucson proper. Might be more CCTV zones around the university, hospitals, downtown etc. MOO
