Have they considered putting more of a beard on him? Because that would looo
Should put a slightly longer beard on that, we can't see the neck in any footage so far so it could be longer.

I’m curious if this sketch was drawn before or after the video of the break-in down the road was released
Break-in down the road? I missed this!! Have to go find it. I am curious about this sketch too, it could really throw people off. I don't see the lips being this thick at all, and how can you see anything about the facial hair beyond the small bit through mask. I hope they have more info than just the video released, or IMOO this is a mistake like the second sketch in Delphi.

If you’re referring to my post with saying “crazy”, yes, I was referring to what others have said! I edited my post some for clarity. I’m sorry about that! Trying to type while getting ready for work = bad posts and late to work lol
Totally get it GussiedCanoodler! I'm guessing you come across this in your work too. I'm not one to tell others how to speak but its hard to hear people talk about mental illness like that. You're all good!

And I giggle every time I read your username 😅

Would people generally consider her particularly polarizing or so controversial that this would be the case? I’m not particularly that familiar with her.
I would love to know the answer to that as well. I start work at 7, so I never see the network morning news shows. Most of the suggestions that NG was taken to "get at" SG don't suggest a motivation for that. I think the Olympics assignment is a non-starter. The Olympics continue without her and I don't think a coworker had NG kidnapped to try and steal SG's assignment any more than I think someone accidentally killed her and then hung around in the house to remove her pacemaker.

What makes me really concerned for NG's life is that, if she was kidnapped and still alive, they can't/won't keep her indefinitely while the Sheriff's office wanders around trying to get their act together. If someone still has her, they have to be totally freaked out, and trying to figure out how to get out of the mess they are in. And that makes NG a loose end to be disposed of. Very bad situation.

Yes I didn’t see it until this morning either! I should have posted a link before, that was my bad, and of course I can’t find anything that is from an allowed source now. But it was a video of someone on a ring camera on January 23rd a few miles from her house. I’ll see if I can find link

ETA: if you look up KEEN_DIVINE on x it is the pinned video!

Yep, I definitely do!! And agreed I don’t want to “correct” someone or make people feel they can’t speak freely, just especially in this type of context where it’s connecting it to a crime!

Also, hehe thank you, I’m glad it provides some comic relief!! A random name generator actually made it for a different account years ago and I just added a “-er” at the end because it made me giggle as well!

The issue with this sketch is is not an official one from those investigating this case. It’s from a sketch artist who has no info other than what’s been publicly released who decided to “guess” about certain features, and who found an outlet to (irresponsibly) release the sketch for clicks. So this isn’t a mistake from the investigators, it’s media clowns doing their %#$@& best to turn this case into a circus.

If I understand correctly, the man in the video inserted the plant into a slot in the Ring camera, which allowed him to remove/disable it.

If that's true and he had thoroughly cased the house before, why didn't he bring a little screwdriver or something specifically to do the job? In the video, he doesn't check his pockets or do anything that makes me think he discovered that he was missing something. He just immediately starts looking on the ground for some implement to do the job and obviously he knows that he needs something skinny to fit in the slot on the Ring.

This seems really weird to me and makes me think that he hadn't been in that front entranceway before and wasn't aware that the residence had a Ring.
I know we laugh about the Lantana moment but if you can forget it being pretty plant life there’s something a bit Rambo about grabbing whatever is there to use as a tool. (We first thought he was just blocking the camera with flowers, which was silly.) Military experience? Boy Scouts?

This sketch isn’t officially released by LE, it’s by a sketch artist from Houston, TX, likely commissioned by the Houston Chronicle, so while it may well not be accurate to the actual perp, it being unofficial means it’s not quite a mistake in the same way as Delphi.

(edit: Sorry, didn’t see that pretty much the same thing had been said above after last refreshing before typing this comment!)

In amongst all these photos and images of the kidnapper and others, I just spent a moment reflecting on this lovely photo of Nancy. She did not deserve whatever has happened to her. There's a real vulnerability and reminder of her age in this photo, yet still a beautiful vibrant woman. I hope she is found soon

What doesn't add up is that family members went to the house to check on Nancy, if it was immediately obvious that Nancy was in danger because of the state of the house, then they wouldn't wait an hour to call 'law enforcement', they would call immediately. It sounds like it wasn't obvious, if it was obvious, then why did they wait? It doesn't take an hour to search a house if done 'methodically'.

The artist posted it on her Facebook, I'm guessing the newspaper took it from there.

I absolutely agree. I'm surprised its still allowed to be posted on here. I thought it would be treated like AI - anything that could be confused with a formal LE released image is usually a big no-no

You would think the law enforcement/ FBI would be searching for a phone ping from the kidnapper

If the phone is turned off, law enforcement can access the last known location, which is the last cell tower the phone connected to before being powered down.

There are numerous cell towers and small cell poles in Tucson, Arizona, operated by major providers like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The City of Tucson maps small cell pole locations for both 4G and 5G upgrades, and T-Mobile specifically offers 5G home internet in the area.

I think this kidnapper had someone else waiting in a vehicle in the street.

He seems to be looking around when he pulls the bush out,

and might have had a phone on him to communicate with someone else to help get Nancy into the vehicle, most likely covered up with a blanket.

Showing the outside onto the road from the video, when it's done more clearly, could show something interesting as well
I feel more than confident that all cell phone data from the tower dumps around the time (even before and after) have been subpoenaed and are being analyzed as we speak. IIRC that is how/why they took the one suspect in custody, who they later released? I could be wrong, the story and this thread moves so fast.

Just because they release someone they bring in and question doesn't mean anything other than they don't have probable cause to hold them at that time.

Hope beyond hope for Nancy and comfort to the Guthrie family during this horrendous time.

Thanks for finding and posting. Haven't seen this yet in the major newspapers. Good find. And, suspect looks very similar to how we've described with a few adjustments with the beard. MO

It’s my impression the sketch artist is actually quite renowned and did the sketch privately and posted it on her own socials as possible assistance with all pertinent disclaimers. What the media does after that probably shouldn’t be used to judge the artist.

Interesting. I just googled the artist as I couldn't access that article, it had so many pop up ads. She's retired now but holds the Guinness world record for the most identifications made by a forensic artist.
Great, thanks!
Let's hope this is as accurate as her others. I wouldn't have pictured him like that.

The gloves were found approximately 1 and 1/2 miles from the house, to they were just 'thrown', so that gives clues to the direction the suspect went. Not exactly, that maybe a 'false' trail laid by the 'person' who turned around and went in the opposite direction.
Or maybe they just randomly flew out of a passing worker's truck
