Other info gleaned from the NYTimes article, though there is a lot more about NG, as a person:

Her friend group were meeting at 11:00 to watch the NY church service.

Nancy was known to be punctual.

NG was seen as mentally tough
Friend pointed out example where NG insisted on walking the gravel driveway to her mailbox, though her friend assisted her with that.

During the summer, often kept her windows open.

Had back pain and other problems, yet rarely complained.

I heard on a podcast last night that journalist are already trying to position themselves to take over Savanna's Today host position.

that job is for Shienelle or Jenna.
if they gave Shienelle a year to deal with her poor husband, they can handle SG taking a break
that said i dont think she will. she worked hard for that position and is at the top of her game

No arrests have been made in the case two weeks since Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson home, but investigators worked from Friday night into the early morning hours on Saturday after discovering the DNA sample on her property.

I think with the internet as it is this case is worldwide, I am in England and our news both online and off is full of the NG story,

one of the major factors for me not seeing this as a targeted kidnapping is you would want to keep NG alive and comfortable in order to get your ransom, if targeted you would know what medications she took and you would have taken them with her, would have taken her hearing aids (I haven't heard anything from LE confirming if they were taken with her or left behind),
by not taking her medications you are at risk of her health declining and she may die without her medications, we do not know exactly what she took and how important it was to keep her alive,

Besides the house a few days ago & last night, have other search warrants been issued? For example, was Annie’s home searched with a warrant or just searched with permission? (Not implying, I just don’t know the answer to this) I’ve decided to go back to my original thoughts.(and most likely MANY peoples’s original thoughts).
IMO, She was taken by someone whom she knows or by someone hired by someone she knows. She isn’t far. Her medicine is with her & this blew up bigger than expected & now they are stuck. I’m sticking with this.They say the majority of crime happens because of money, sex, or drugs. I’ve eliminated 2 of those in this case. This was intended to be easy peasy, get the $ and run, not kill her etc. and now they don’t know what to do. I wish the media & circus of people would just go home. It might give the captors the breathing room to let her go.

Is it possible that they could have gone to Mexico and gotten the needed medication without a prescription?

I have no hope that Nancy is alive, but this has to be solvable. There is no leaked information about exactly how entry was made, but I am of the opinion that there was much more evidence of a crime, than just the blood down the front path. I do wonder if there is any audio from cameras, and DNA that can link back to the perpetrator/s. There has to be a lot of undisclosed evidence.

There always is. With the Idaho 4 murders everyone thought nothing was happening after a month then bam! Arrest is made. What makes this different is these false detentions looking like they have finally caught someone only to release them. Optics are not good but then again we are still waiting to hear on results from various forensics. It could all be leading towards something or nothing.

Whatever purpose of holstering this way, it is deliberate IMO. Either habitual or offleading.

I've posted about 20 paragraphs or more about the awkward version of "appendix carry" that the Nest cam suspected displayed along with the proper way we conceal carry in this manner.

I have said I think his awkward facsimile was deliberate and practical in it's desired result - intimidation and coercion. I doubt the suspect even knows what an "appendix carry" really is.

When you see him out of frame w/o the backpack, further out (washed out in the IR camera glow) he does not have the gun.holster displayed, but since it is on a belt loop presumably it's concealed. When he approaches he brandished the gun/holster front and center (in a right hand draw orientation). This is deliberate as he's approaching the door. I believe he wanted it to be seen for intimidation and coercion of who he would encounter behind the door. This is further supported by his cumbersome gloves not being practical for a draw or even getting his finger in a trigger guard, or using a semi auto in a mus-profiled pistol holster, in a situation where he'd have to respond (armed homeowner, security guard) but he likely knew he had an easy mark inside. It's more for show and not practical for use. I don't even think it was habitual, but rather a skewed version of what he thought was practical and served his purpose. For instance there are many other ways to conceal carry and then brandish the firearm when you need it (but you'd need a real holster for that) and not some cheap universal holster with a goofy belt loop you picked up laying about.

So IMO this all point to the gun (if it even WAS a live firearm and not a replica, etc.) for intimidation and coercion. Approaching that way also leaves no doubt to the homeowner (masked man approaching brandishing a weapon at night, even in an open carry state) and if it was my house he stood a good chance of getting a Mozambique drill.

the issue isn't with the arrest for me but NG health the longer it goes on, but then I haven't thought it was a kidnapping and don't think she is alive, but the possibility exists she is and she is without her heart medication, her pace maker is not monitored, and she is in constant pain according to SG, so the longer it goes on if she was taken alive and kidnapped the more she suffers

Has anyone provided an update on what we currently know about APS? I think it’s important to point out that NG may have been the victim of a scam and possibly harassment. It's very plausible that someone was trying to extort money from her, and the situation escalated too far.

I'm sure this has been brought up and I missed it, but if this was indeed a local (if not inside) job, I wonder if the perpetrator(s) knew how the sheriff would likely approach the investigation, figuring they were in the clear. jmo
