Agree with you completely. I have done this on the past for elderly family, if you don’t set exclusion zones, the alerts are constant. It’s also why people who don’t fully understand how the camera works end up turning off alerts, etc.

Correct me if I am wrong. She was found missing by her family on Sunday FEBRUARY 1. Ransom note came in on the morning of FEBRUARY 3 to TMZ and a couple of other news outlets that were local. Perp was waiting for news to break. Attention was desired. IMO. he sure got it. SG had a stalker who wanted her attention. Involving TMZ, which is an entertainment outlet, just further cements it for me. JMO and i am sticking to it
I wish we could see the letters! I agree this person likes the attention.

The FBI cannot obtain a federal warrant for a crime that pertains only to a state criminal statute/matter, and by definition if a federal criminal statute has been violated it supersedes a similar state one. That the FBI was able to obtain a federal warrant regarding this case is prima facie evidence that necessary components exist within this crime to make it a federal crime. Which then makes the FBI the primary investigators of this crime.

JMO.
Yes, they absolutely can under the Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act. It’s literally the entire premise of Safe Streets Task Forces.

For a WS-centric example, the FBI obtained search warrants to search the house and property of RL in the Delphi case, which was a state case the FBI was providing assistance on. There were never federal charges pending or investigated in that case.

Nancy Guthrie cops 'did not arrest ANYONE' after two dramatic raids
It was the Daily Mail that I read this morning that an NBC affiliate KVOA had unconfirmed report of a neighbor seeing someone shoot themselves in the head during the SWAT raid of the Tucson home but no further information about the alleged incident”
according to the Sheriff, there was no shooting or suicide involved in last night’s operations, as had been claimed by some.

something that I find odd is it seems few of the homes I have seen on maps in the area have fences or gates, don't coyotes and other wild animals live in the area?

Grew up in a rural area with coyotes. They aren’t interested in people generally. As a kid roaming the fields, occasionally we would see one. A couple of hand claps from us little kids and they take off running.

He sounded frustrated, with what we can't know, the whole investigation? People holding stuff back when questioned? Perhaps some detail they overlooked?
He sounded frustrated from the very first presser. As I recall, he made a comment about the media/reporters calling him all night and said “you’re driving me crazy.” If he’s exhausted why not appoint a PIO to handle the media and press conferences? JMHO

This case began as a mystery, morphed into a suspected tragedy and has been turned into a farce by law enforcement!

this woman deserves better than this

Were the feds simultaneously prosecuting some individuals for Internet related crimes that they thought he was related to?

It's interesting they went through the trouble of evidence sealing and towing the Range if the traffic stop amounted to nothing. For them to go in full cavalry last night, there had to be something there that made them think "this is it." They can't be blindly chasing tips.

We have coyotes here...it's an issue with pets etc. Coyotes have the ability to get over a 7 to 8 ft high fence or wall. Lots of cases here.
Right, coyotes are bad here. Many people have enclosed dog runs, livestock pens, to guard pet animals.

I took this statement as the man detained was according to investigation deemed to be their main POI, but after they interviewed him, they determined he was not. Nanos told Fox News on Saturday the man detained in a traffic stop outside the Culver's restaurant Friday night was investigators' "person of interest," and was cooperative.

Who does Nano report to? Who is his boss? I live in a very large city where we don't really have a strong presence of sheriffs, state police or county police. Our police commissioner reports directly to the mayor.

No way this was just normal chasing leads protocol

Many elderly people with mobility issues struggle with steps..especially if they use a cane. I believe there are a few steps she would have to walk down if she used the front door.
I struggle with mobility issues and so does my husband. It's a tough life. He has a scooter and we have ramps for the back of both vehicles but honestly, lots of times he will just sit in the car versus loading the scooter on the ramps, etc. I am able to do all the things I need to do just not all the things I would like to do. Like using a ladder to do a lot of stuff in my own home. Like shoveling my driveway, doing lots of yard work. I'm not that old either, I am soon 71 but femur break with serious complications and 5 surgeries that also had to give me a knee replacement to correct it ... it's sad to get old. However, it does not seem that Nancy was one to be a hermit, she seems to have kept up a steady life with family and friends. I just saw a pic of her with Annie at Christmas and it looked like at a restaurant somewhere

Respectfully, LE do not owe the public any kind of explanation. We have no idea what they are working off of or what led them to treat the situation Friday like they did, nor should we.
I’m sure, besides the family, no one wants to get to the bottom of this more than the officers and agents working nonstop through this mess.
I agree. Respectfully as well, if we all want NG’s safe return to all who love her, we need to understand there ARE things that are (and will not be) publicly reported. Let us all focus on our intentions…and let others (more qualified) to focus on theirs.

Wholly irrelevant. The crime being investigated and basis for their investigation was kidnapping and murder, local charges.

Again, this is all explicitly covered in an appropriately-titled federal law.

They have the RR to search. Like the sheriff noted, the way he works, he can release people and then circle back if strong evidence comes up. Paraphrased. JMO
