I'm not sure if there's been any discussion of the suspect's shoes. I went through the footage and grabbed a few screenshots. A couple of things stood out to me:

1. No visible laces
2. Flat heel/ molded platform sole
3. Traditional-style moc toe construction
4. Contrasting outsole, likely rubber
5. Toe spring (or bumper)
6. Non-leather material. Probably canvas or mesh.

I don't know how helpful it is, but the closest match I could find was the Carhartt Men's Haslett Moc Toe Boot in black canvas..

(FWIW, I used to sell shoes)

If he wasn’t a suspect, why were police at his house taking photos for over 3 hours? Why were they going door to door in his neighbourhood asking people if they could check their backyards?
Seems like all of this was part of the investigating. I believe this was part of them eliminating him as a person of interest.

LanMan looks to me like he has the front door job and probably his partner is entering through the rear door as previously discussed.

LanMan had specific roles in this crime, and along with the front door, whatever was in the backpack was specific to home. IMO

EXCLUSIVE: Scene of Nancy Guthrie private lab testing. I’m outside DNA Labs International where the DNA Testing of evidence is happening right now.

I traveled to Deerfield Beach, Florida where lab technicians have been testing critical evidence in the investigation — including the glove found nearly 2 miles from her home.

We’ve heard a lot about the discrepancies of sending this type of DNA evidence to a private lab versus a lab used by the FBI, but the Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, says this is their protocol, and a lab that they have used for years.

There are only a limited number of private accredited DNA labs in the country capable of this level of forensic work. If possible, DNA Labs International will develop a DNA profile from the glove.

According to independent DNA consultant Suzanna Ryan of Ryan Forensic, which is not connected to this case but can speak about how this all works, once a profile is developed it will most likely be sent to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

That’s where the quality control process begins:
•A qualified DNA analyst or CODIS administrator verifies the data
•The profile must meet strict standards before upload
•Once approved, it is electronically transmitted through state systems to the Federal Bureau of Investigation
•All systems work together within the national DNA database network CODIS

This extra verification step can take time — but it’s critical to ensure the data is admissible and accurate.

In this exclusive video, I take you to the scene of where this testing is being done. Because the lab sits on private property, we were asked to leave by property management — but this is where the forensic work is happening.

More to come on my YouTube Channel The Ingle Edit and on @NewsNation

This is way beyond frustrating. What is earth is “quality control”, and how long does it take?? The last I heard was up to 24 hours. That glove went out days ago.
Argh…

These media folks are as human as we are and have the same kinds of biases and make the same kinds of mistakes that we make more often than we care to admit. They also have the same kinds of initial reactions (denial) and instinctive ego defenses ("but this or that therefore this still might be true") that we use when we're wrong. I find that as I age that I become more forgiving of folks for being wrong, because the older I get means the more times I've been wrong and the more times I've had to come to terms with with being wrong and reacting in the same way.

AB didn't defame anyone by believing her source and reporting it. Or even by believing it herself if that was the case. She will only have defamed him if she keeps repeating it after he has been officially cleared and/or someone else is arrested, and most importantly, only if he could then prove an actual calculable injury from it.

JMO.
Agree. She had a source that she trusted who gave her the information she reported. Everybody was still a suspect at that time, and also at that time, LE was conducting searches in the property near that family member as well as in that family member's house. It's plausible that she was given correct information at that moment but then things changed somewhat rapidly.

It's got to be hard to be a media person who has to make decisions in the moment as to what is true and to be trusted, and what needs much more investigation before reporting on it.

you're brave to attempt this. there are so, so many shoes out there.

You don’t expect them to announce to the public if they found a match, do you? They will only announce after they have caught the guy.
I’m surprised we have any information as to whether or not the DNA has been entered into CODIS. I’m not used to LE sharing a blow by blow of their investigation. Sure, if they need footage from residents’ cameras, or have identified someone that they need to speak to and ask for the public’s help, I can see them putting out a request.

Did they find DNA at the house that would absolutely be tied to the crime? In order to clear the family, would you have to be positive that no one connected to a family member is a suspect? I understand that WS is a victim friendly site and family members should be treated as victims. I’m just trying to understand the elimination of all family members while there still appears to be no profile of who did this.

I thought the 24 hours included the "quality control" and it's been way past 24 hours. JMO

NEW: "Unnecessary delays" in getting DNA from glove in Nancy Guthrie case into FBI database --

The decision to send the glove with DNA to a private lab in Florida is causing what one source familiar with the case calls “unnecessary delays” in getting the DNA entered into the FBI’s CODIS database.

That’s because the FBI does not accept DNA submissions directly from private labs. Instead, once testing is complete in Florida, it’s likely the DNA data extracted must first be sent back to the state system in Arizona where it can be uploaded and becomes shareable with the FBI for entry into CODIS.

That extra step adds time creating what the source describes as a “catch-up” process when the FBI could have processed and entered the data within a day, according to the source.
Lord. It looks almost as if the sheriff is stalling the investigation. It's like referees in college basketball. Is it corruption or just incompetence? There's no way for us to know for sure.

i disagree with all the respect i have. AB did something very very foolish in the name of being the first to break the hot story — that’s no better than some of the more salacious tabloids we come across. journalism in these spaces have got to do better. these are real people going through the worst time of their lives.

not attacking you or op, just my opinion :-)

My family member is a locksmith - recently he had to sort out the locks on behalf of the police for a victim of crime. The reason the elderly couple had a home invasion is because their carer (woman) provided information to the criminals. 💔
Something happened in my hometown years ago. An elderly man's CNA told others "he had money". They broke in to rob him and killed him. I can't recall if she shared it in casual conversation or as part of a set up. 💔

The amount of LE hours going into this is incredible. Not complaining. JMO.
i agree. Not complaining at all I want to see this solved. But I do wonder if it's because of how heinous this was. Clearly a planned abduction. I know the guy they got on video seemed amateur, but I do wonder if he had one job which was to look for a camera and remove it. And clearly they're not amateurs because a million fbi agents are investigating and have not been successful yet.

Savannah looked rough yesterday. This whole thing is so damn sad I cannot even fathom if this was my mother. I think I'd be catatonic. I truly think that is also why so much is going into this and the whole world is caring about it. Not out of morbid curiosity but because we truly want justice and answers for the poor family😔. I cannot imagine if it goes unsolved… how does the family survive? I know even if it does get solved it is still horrible but having no closure would be truly unimaginable.

Someone posted photos of the Subaru from when it was being towed earlier. It looks like there’s some previous damage to the front end of the car.
Yes it does look damaged.

Do you have a source for this pls?
These TMZ ransom notes (4 now) have been pretty widely discussed here. Is it necessary to re-source every time they are mentioned? Is there some point where it’s considered general knowledge for posting purposes? TIA for any guidance on that.
