I totally agree about the absurdity of much of this situation, but to me it seems like they may believe there's some validity to the messages so they are giving him a stage to encourage communication? I actually believe they are genuine. The messages that have subsequently been sent to only TMZ are more dubious to me. MOO
Unfortunately, we’ve only heard from “TMZ email guy” and not the original ransom letter that police believed to have validity. The original ransom has had no correspondence or way to communicate and it’s been awhile now. That makes me wonder if she passed away and he can’t prove she’s alive for ransom. Or if it was something fake? It’s also weird to be going to the media with these notes and not to the family or even Savannah.

The APS card makes me wonder. I'm not elderly, but if I was and I got financially scammed, I'm not sure I would tell my family and friends. I suppose it's situational.
We only found out because the bank called her son about her wanting to pull out more cash. He’s on her account as an overseer.
However, most don’t tell. I just know scamming or getting information out of the elderly isn’t difficult these day and so many capitalize on it.

Was a glove found in NG’s house? I see people saying this again. I thought that was debunked.

Makes no sense. Just makes no sense. Whether she was walking, being carried, in a wheelchair, on a stretcher, dead, alive, whatever the case - it would've been much easier, more efficient, and far less risky/chance of being seen, if NG was removed from the back of the house where it was level ground and no steps. And then easily walked/carried/led around the corner/gate by the garage to a waiting vehicle.

So why the front door? Why the narrow path? Why the steps? Did he want to be seen? Was this a production?

I sadly can’t imagine she is alive. Hope the meth head is caught asap.

I wonder if it's because the driveway would be easier to pull into and then out of from the front door. I just looked at an aerial view and the driveway is kind of circular in one area. Someone could pull in without having to back out.

I'm attaching the link to where the photo appeared. Editing to add: in the 2nd photo I've marked a black arrow illustrating what I mean by it being a circular driveway.

Yes that's how I viewed it until now when I looked the aerials over again, but there is plenty of room in the main drive to turn a vehicle around and load her up from the back. And far less likely to have obstacles like steps, etc. It also seems they entered from the back too. The perp in the video comes around the corner from the main drive when he enters the front porch area. We don't see a vehicle at the front circle drive in that video. So where is it? Probably on the side by the back where it appears he/they entered the home initially, and from whence direction he came to the front porch.

So why take the risk of bringing her out the front if your car is in the main drive (and you'd have to move it before getting her out the front)? Especially if it is closer to her bedroom, and most importantly, WIDE and FLAT.

And if you had time to move your car to the front, and you were operating alone, that doesn't bode well for NG's condition when she was removed.

It makes no sense.

Lord, if I ever go missing — for better or worse — please don't let it happen in Pima County, AZ.

Another night praying for the Guthrie's. I don't ever want my family to feel this family's pain.

There is a Walmart and Walmart warehouse smack dab in the middle of Nogales, Mexico. I hope they are looking at purchases there too, even though that might present jurisdictional issues.

ADMIN NOTE:

Please move on from the posts criticizing Sheriff Nanos.

The Sheriff's brother died just after Nancy's case broke. Websleuths believes in compassion for those who are grieving. If you don't have compassion, we can't instill that in you. We'll just remove your post.

In and out from the garage could have been even easier?

Could Nancy’s blood have been from a stress nosebleed, rather than a deliberate injury?
I know children can bleed profusely due to spontaneous nosebleeds, but haven’t actually heard of elderly people suffering from similar.

I’m not sure if the blood on her porch would have a spray pattern in places if it was a spontaneous stress nose bleed. I’d think it would just be drops but I’m not an expert. Spray to me says impact rather than naturally occurring?

It may just be me, but it sounds like she is "addressing" someone who is thought might actually know something and are out of their league and are scared. Like if you help us, we will help you. They can't say this, but IMO, they are implying that if this someone comes forward, they can make a deal where the person won't be charged or have greatly reduced charges. The notes may have nothing to do with it (or they might). That is my take on this.
Given that both the households raided by SWAT so far have involved men who live with their mothers, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they believe there's a woman out there who suspects her son may be involved but is afraid to come forward

Maybe in earpiece. Maybe just talking loudly through the window beside the door.

"Not there 'ya dummy, go further out and step down, THERE - to your right!"

(ETA: I hope they swabbed the interior of the window beside the door opening.)

Why would anyone do this? Why not go through the house where you/your compatriots have already effected entry (out of sight of front door nest camera), unlock and open the front door (out of sight of front door nest camera), unlock and open storm door (out of sight of front door nest camera), reach around to camera and pop out (out of sight of front door nest camera)?

For people who think all this front door palaver is "staged," are you saying the person or people behind this anticipated both that the footage would be unavailable ("no subscription") but later Google would be able to restore some of it? If so, what kind of person would know this and where in our Big Book of Past Crimes has something ever so elaborate been done in such a pedestrian (no offense to the Guthries, but this is small potatoes and NG would never be a target of criminal masterminds) setting?

I'm hoping the 11 January business at another home in the neighborhood is not just instructive but ultimately related. Means this was always local and opportunistic (no conspiracies needed), as it has always appeared, pace the poor federal media management that led to this crimewave of hoax "ransoms."

Maybe in their mind they think or know that there are other cameras around the house. If they go through the back, the same problem is posed.

And again..the blood splatter analysis pattern doesn't show the blood is staged..I'm not post it again but people can Google it .. Wikipedia it, or even take a course in it.

I still don't understand why DNA testing from a roadside glove is eliciting regular updates to the public.
It's like they want to assure the media/public that they're on it.
