I would milk it too if I was TMZ. That's how they make their money. I don't think they can help that they are the chosen one in this case.

What's so very odd is that the family doesn't seem to have been contacted, but TMZ, which is viewed by a younger population, was contacted. I feel the ransom demands are a diversion, and the FBI are chasing all those 'leads', taking away from finding poor Nancy, whether rescue or recovery.

Has there been a verified report that it's Guthrie family members that are taking polygraph tests? The last I saw they knew testing was happening but didn't know who or what case. I probably just missed the announcement it was family.

What I heard was that she took an Uber to her daughter's house, where she, her daughter and 'husband'(I heard he is not her husband, but now every report calls him that) ate dinner and played Mah Jong. Different info out there about exactly who took her home that night, as some say both, but some also say just the 'husband'. Very sad, but IMOO, the resources made available for this case is sadly not used in the many other kidnappings/missing persons/children across the country.

Please supply your source that he is not her husband! Also, why if this is not her husband, is this important. I'm not immune to the other missing people, but I'm puzzled by why you think that NG case should be less important than any other missing person FYI, most of the missing persons are found rather quickly, sadly NG is not one of those. JMO

I think annoyance is just human nature. It’s ok to be annoyed. It doesn’t mean they don’t care about Nancy. When someone with video cameras blocks your driveway and is filming you on your morning walk with your dog, or random people are in your yard or parked outside your home for over 2 weeks pretty much anyone would get annoyed. I would. This is a super quiet neighborhood and they aren’t used to this. It’s perfectly natural. The frustration with not knowing what happened or where Nancy is, is palpable at this point.

Absolutely and it's important to note their annoyance is with media, not law enforcement. It isn't just Fox and CNN camped out on their street. They're probably tired of being harassed by YouTubers, tabloid reporters, clout chasers and all the other assorted ghouls who come to gawk at tragedy. I don't doubt they want Nancy found just as badly as the rest of us.

IMO, the Sheriff received push back for clearing the entire family. Polygraphs are also part of the department's due diligence , imo.

Ok. I took a copy of the photo and played with the light levels sharpness contrast and definition. There is a pattern on the jacket! I'm confident that's a different jacket than lantana guy. It looks like swirls or the way light plays off of rip stop nylon. View attachment 646386

Camera noise. At low light levels, the camera uses high gain (high ISO), which amplifies the signal but also the noise. You can see noise patterns in the sky, too. Very low contrast in this image – you can barely see the eyes and the holes for them in the mask. Detail is being obliterated.

The camera is in night mode and emitting infrared from its own LEDs. In this still, I suspect those LEDs weren’t at full brightness so the image (and the video it was taken from, which hasn’t been released) is noisier. Heavily cropped, too, before release.

No source other than the News reports right after Nancy's disappearance claimed this, but also admitted they did not know. Now they call him her husband, so they probably confirmed this along the way. Just stating what I heard to begin with, but the Sheriff is not experienced with these types of crimes apparently. Others in his department say he does not play well with others.

Kash's phrasing totally blew by me first go around. I was too shocked by the images themselves. Thanks for posting.

That means the photograph with no backpack is likely ex post facto because he had already attempted to cover the camera with foilage when he initially saw it, and when he had his full gear on. I am assuming that this photo then is the perp when he came back to remove the camera (and may have Googled how to remove if you're reading LE!) after already doing what he was there to do, and probably as an attempt to permanently conceal photos/videos.

What that would also mean is that they likely have NG on video leaving her home, and probably can surmise whether she was alive at the time.

Regarding ransom note to TMZ: if I wanted to give a tip but keep a low profile with the folks I know who are implicated, I’d be stealthier. Send to local newspaper and tell them to give to police. A tip to TMZ seems like a death sentence for the tipster if you really did know who did it. You can’t be one of many who knows. Unless it’s a ruse and it is the perpetrator posing as a bystander.
