I work in a field where I’m a mandated reporter. While I’ve never called APS, I have called CPS. Even when contacting someone during normal business hours, it’s normally a day or two before they do a house visit.

Sooo the neighbor called APS on a Sunday morning and someone showed up within a couple hours? Idk

When I’ve called CPS in the past, they’ve also said to contact LE if there’s an immediate danger bc that’s their role.

I think the only reason he grabbed the lantana with his left hand is that’s the side the bigger bush was on when he stepped over to the area. He was being dumb with his white light use and was clearly having trouble seeing out there, so I think he just naturally arrived with the plant on his left side and so grabbed it with his left instead of doing a more awkward motion to grab with his right.

I don't know about most of you, but I've lost faith in this sheriff to properly run the investigation. I said early on, when he was focusing on finding DNA, rather than the victim, that it was a mistake. He then continued to focus on trying to find the perpetrator, instead of the victim...which in my opinion, pretty much sealed NG fate.

He has seemingly alienated the FBI, prematurely released the crime scene and wasted days sending the glove found two miles away, to a DNA lab in Florida, rather than the FBI lab.

Of course, this is moo.

I mean, that first part sounds like pretty basic kidnapping strategy, though. If you figure out the kidnapper, you have a wide variety of options to then find the victim. You can only go so far trying to find the victim - local area searches and posting her photo everywhere. Which I’m pretty sure they did.

Other than NG being missing, the Nest video, some alien DNA in her domicile, there isn't a lot of evidence. The gloves they found in the area may not even be linked with this at all.

Thank God for the Nest video, otherwise we'd really have nothing!

The problem in this particular case was the age and medical condition of the victim.
All focusing on DNA will do is lead LE to a "person of interest" who will then need a complete investigation. This takes time and resources.
The preservation of life takes precedence over all.

I've noticed that there is some weird light movement going on behind him in the part of the video where he is holding the foliage up to the camera. I wondered if it was someone else sweeping a torchlight around, or if it was the movement of car lights in the distance. But it seems to shine inside the porch area, because he is silhouetted against a completely black background before and after, and doesn't seem to be moving his head at all, IMO.

What I've been looking at is the possibility of another perp across the street. I haven't come up with anything that shows anyone standing in the entryway to confirm what this is across the street. Could be another perp? IDK IMOO

Hmmm... I'm having a tough time seeing it. But a jammer could absolutely be inside the backpack. It wouldn't even have to be visible. But if so, it wasn't a good one!

It does seem to me like that back pocket is stuffed to the brim. If this is, in fact, the Ozark Trail Hiking backpack, it looks like the expandable pleat is fully extended, unless it's a trick of the (IR) light.View attachment 646626

I was watching Dr G on YT yesterday and he pointed out that the back pack is most likely unzipped or the zip burst open at the top. You can see it in this image, that which I had previously thought was the handle.

So are you suggesting that the neighbour who rang APS was really, in essence, just being a ‘nosey neighbour’ - made a call pretending to be concerned for NG but was really just trying to get information about all the activity ?

No I am saying the neighbor was very concerned about NG and all the activity at her home.

LE was obviously busy at the time.

The aircraft, equipped with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras capable of scanning vast swaths of desert terrain, remained on the tarmac for roughly half a day, sources said, despite a situation in which every minute can mean the difference between life and death.

According to Sergeant Aaron Cross, president of the Pima County Sheriff's Deputies Association, the aircraft is 'the most valuable law enforcement asset in southern Arizona.

The alleged delay in getting the surveillance aircraft airborne was not caused by mechanical issues or weather, but by staffing shortages that left the department without qualified pilots to fly the plane – a shortage sources blame directly on Nanos.

If they had somebody who could fly that plane, they could have probably found her instantly if she was out in the desert.

I saw one video where a former police officer said burglars often put one backpack inside another when they are out robbing so that they have 2 backpacks to then fill with the stuff they steal, could be a possibility as to why the backpack looks so stuffed

Where is the suspect? Someone has to know who he is. If he lives at home, you would think his family would know if he has a backpack/jacket like the ones shown, is he missing work? Did he leave his home without anyone noticing? Where did he take Nancy? He could be living on his own maybe, but he would need to get out and shop, work etc. I can’t believe he just vanished. Every morning I check the news to see if anyone has been arrested and Nancy found.

Still very early in the investigation, but it’s sobering to see the all the resources and attention being poured into this case and we still haven’t found Nancy.

The consensus seems to be Lantana Man is an inexperienced amateur- yet he hasn’t been caught (as far as we know).

Not at all a shade on LE, just sobering to realize how easy it is to get away with a crime of this magnitude for this long with all the resources being used.

It may be true that APS always comes out in cases like this but, and I don't mean to belabor the point, but the question is not WHY APS was at the scene, but rather why the neighbor called APS.

There would have been no reason to call if LE was already present on the scene. As far as we know, no one knew NG was missing until AG called LE. If the neighbor somehow knew before that, it could make a difference, IMO.

I think we just have to accept the fact that not enough information has been released to make sense of it. Was APS called to conduct a wellness check and so somebody hurried out the door on over to her house right away? My understanding is no, that’s not their mandate.

If NG was the only guest invited to her friend’s house to watch the service then only her friend knew it was concerning when she didn’t show up, and contacted AG accordingly. But iirc there were others present as well. Any one of them might’ve known one of NGs neighbours. We can’t honestly say no one knew NG was missing until AG called LE.

I don’t this business card had anything to do with her kidnapping. But if it did anyone calling APS would surely be equally likely to contact police learning later she was kidnapped with important information to solve NG’s disappearance. Otherwise APS could direct them toward that caller. It’s not as if LE are unaware of the potential connection.
