Yeah if you have viable leads you absolutely don't do this from the start.

You do this when you are at a crossroads and hope to strike lightening in a bottle.

They are likely now prioritizing tips that are very specific. You throw that line out with your last big worm and hope it attracts the big fish.

It's a hail Mary of sorts
That's a good point, they've probably got some info by now that makes filtering the tips easier, so it's less of an issue to get thousands at a time

I hope the neighbors to NG ( say 5 miles) thinks about visitor’s they’ve had that fullfill this:

1. Visited you more than once.
2. You have reason to believe the guy knows NG lives alone.
3. They haven’t been around since her disappearance.

If it’s a sociopath you may have to take 3 off the list because their fear-challenged, meaning they tend to be fearless. In a bad way.

Hopefully FBI has checked into the possibility that it could be a real mask under the ski mask and they have looked into purchases from places like CreaFx, who manufactures and sells these otherwise pretty cool inventions. These masks aren't cheap ($1000+), so the private purchase pool would be pretty small, particularly in that general area. This mask from them looks eerily similar, IMO. Promo videos of it being fitted and worn can be found on YT/social media.

The 'individual' is clearly 'weak' minded individual, if he has been carrying out surveillance NG, he would have seen that she is 'frail', walks with a 'walking stick'. But still decides she is a 'fair target' goes their with a gun, this is 'very cowardly'.

You need a subscription just to *receive* notifications? Yikes.

Edited to add that I recognize that NG didn't have an active Nest subscription, but I didn't realize that would preclude her from receiving notifications on a live basis. I just thought it meant she couldn't review footage.
If Nest is the same as Ring, you will still get alerts without a subscription but the alerts are in “Real Time - meaning the video/images are viewable as they are happening. If I don’t notice an alert (sleeping, away from my phone, etc), I can still see the Alert that says (for example) “Motion was detected at your door.” However, I can not go back and view the video/images. But it does seem like “the information was [is] available on the back servers”.

If I was writing a kidnapping note, I would not risk writing it online - to be traced back to me .

Well, they sent it electronically, so...

If this was someone local to NG home, then they may not have used a car. There are other modes of transport taking NG away that are possible i.e. golf buggy, a foldable trolly, etc.

Something that's easy to maneuver through the terrain.

Understood and totally understand where you are coming from. Sometimes posts are not meant for everyone.

Cases are not solved in a vacuum, There are parts we disagree with and can't understand, but sometimes those parts that we can't understand may hold significance.

I just try to understand all sides and sometimes true crime and investigations aren't always mandated to be viewed thru rose colored glasses.

I feel the pain of the families seeking answers and sometimes its ok to question steps taken to try to help those families
True. The same measures should be applied to both sides of the local-federal partnership.

Consider where the allegations of dysfunction are coming from: self-serving leaks from a source tangential to the federal side IMO. Reporters make clear in their content that the allegations are not substantiated. Readers who miss the attribution and qualifiers in articles may conclude the opinions are fact. Statements from the FBI contradict the allegations by the leaker who claims to be knowledgeable about the federal investigation. The law enforcement professionals at the FBI (agents on the ground, analysts, managers) remain supportive of the Pima County Sheriff's Office. Consider where the allegations of dysfunction come from and whose interests they serve. Contrast what the anonymous source alleges with what the federal law enforcement professionals say and do.

There are also orders of magnitude to consider here in evaluating the law enforcement partners. The inability to deploy Pima County aircraft early on is frequently invoked as proof the sheriff is incompetent. In that same vien, please consider the months-long controversy about the availability of FBI aircraft. Tonight we learned verified FBI employees testified under oath that the FBI response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the mass shooting at Brown University were delayed because of the director's use of FBI aircraft for personal trips. Even the sheriff's fiercest critics do not claim corruption delayed deployment on the Pima County plane. Orders of magnitude. All MOO.

I'm not sure if Google Nest or Ring offers these, but we have the Blink/Amazon variants of the privacy video doorbells/floodlights/etc and we had the option to forgo a subscription and purchase a dedicated storage device that uses SD cards. Depending on the size SD card you use, you can get anywhere between a couple of days to 30+days of hard audio/video storage. We bought a large one that gives us 20-30 days using 7-8 devices. We did purchase a basic subscription just so we could pool with other users for BOLOs and what not, but we prefer to have local storage.

I make this post not to talk about video security recommendations, but rather to posit that if Nest offers a similar local storage device then perhaps Nancy has one in her home in a discreet location. The Blink one I have is very small, about the size of a low profile cordless computer mouse, and can be stored anywhere there is a standard outlet to plug into. If she does have one and they overlooked it, then it could be a gamechanger.

Day 24: we still have hope. We are blowing on the embers of Hope. Savannah Guthrie from today’s video.❤️
That video broke my heart. I cried so hard! 😭The unimaginable pain Savannah and her family must be going through right now! Hoping and praying someone comes forward with the tip they need to bring Nancy home! I am a believer in miracles and will continue to believe Nancy will come home safe soon. Hope❤️

Whereas Entin breathlessly livestreams on location that 'there was someone who was trying to stop her from doing that' [timecode 30s]. The need to turn best practice recommendations into drama is disappointing IMO.

.
The drive around was interesting. He made a good point about somebody needing to know the neighborhood well or they would get turned around/lost. Dead ends, elevation changes, turns, and extreme darkness all say this was somebody comfortable in that area, especially in the middle of the night when few cars are out. If you don't have a firm route, you might draw attention.

Wouldn't the physician who administered her pacemaker be able to monitor it still? My understanding is they have a signal until the physician turns it off, even at or following death.

If that is true, and the physician is still monitoring an active signal, and she is somewhere relatively local, then finding her is reasonable likelihood provided they keep combing the area with the signal sweepers. That is, of course, unless this perp is a pathological ghoul and removed it.

It was crime scene taped off during the investigation.

It was turned over to the family about February 3rd.

It is the family's decision how to deal with NG's home and none of our business when they fence.

To say the family was shameful in how they dealt with the property after it was turned over to them is unnecessary, imo.

They have not been going in the home from what I can see only had LE hand a few small things to their representative.

Fencing off represents the stage of their dealing with the acceptance that this is not going to be a quick rescue and matters with the home settled after.

My heart goes out out to them that they have had to fence off NG's home, the finality of that, the sight of that lovely home of their dear Mother fenced off.

SG is brilliant and has means and background in law and crime but she and the rest if the family are suffering and deserve our grace as respectful onlookers.

Imo
Hi, I think two quotes got put together as mine.
I do not lack any empathy or sympathy at all for the family.
I'm just appalled that an active crime scene was never really locked down by investigators for long enough. o that anyone can walk all over it, gave pizza and glowers delivered at such an early stage..it's still an active crime scene.

Also, if they don't have a suspect or any real leads, one might thing there would be considerable community warnings about taking safety precautions, etc. We have none of that here. That is indicative of something, no?

Was very informative, especially highlighting the difficulty in navigating the area in pitch blackness.

Bloomin' no wonder Nancy didn't feel comfortable driving at night... what a mission... I'd not want to either!

To be fair, I don't think BE fully knows what best practices are or all of the full backstory playing out for the world. It's a distraction to me.

I researched this idea a bit and it seemed she would have to be linked up with the app for that to happen. Pacemaker may still be working but no monitoring (at least that's my understanding) JMO

Targeting which lessens public danger but I get your point and would be scared to death if I lived in that area.
