I think someone from the prosecutor's office was there today. They're preparing a case.

I'm thinking back to the beginning of this crime. The homicide team was called in. To me, there is evidence we don't know about that leads them to believe something horrific happened in the house.
I think about that a lot, too.

How is gem show talk allowed? I posted much about this, and my posts were deleted because gem show talk here was not allowed.
Last time I posted those links and they were deleted, the reason given was to do with the safety of someone in NG’s area (I’m being deliberately vague). So the show links themselves may be okay to post. (Not sure!)

Idk, i'm sorry if it is not allowed. I just noticed a conversation and no link provided so i just added the link. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Having looked at multiple videos of the activities, black SUVs, suited people, some people wearing baseball caps etc. at Nancy Guthrie’s home today 2/25/26, IMHO this is what happened:

1. The bad news is that the sheriff has exhausted his department’s investigative ability, and they have now released the crime scene
2. The new $1,000,000 rewards have generated new interests, including perhaps large investigative firms. Savannah Guthrie has the means to hire these types of investigative teams
3. The good news is that the new people who came today are (90% sure) Intelligence and Investigation Agents, Executive Protection Agents, and undercover FBI
4. Intelligence and Investigation Agents (IIA) are of the type Private Investigators such as in a marital misconduct or inheritance dispute, but they are employed by large firms with legal, financial, scientific etc. capabilities
5. Usually, IIA travel with Executive Protection Agents (EPA). EPA are not to be confused with bodyguard (special police officer level). Besides protection, EPA do pre-planning of deployment, travel management, crime scene management, risk mitigations, and investigation
6. While local law enforcement may have released the crime scene, usually IIA and undercover FBI agents collaborate. IIA are hired after local law enforcement finished their job but the FBI may continue investigating beyond routine. Hence, they collaborate with private companies. It would not be surprising if some FBI agents not wearing badges were present today
7. I do not know if I may post their website but you may google ASIG American Special Investigative Group as an example of such private firms. ASIG has IIA, EPA, and even specialized professionals called "Missing Person Investigators."

Plenty of posters here would have cheered them on, too. There was incessant sleuthing and accusations of guilt regarding that person here on websleuths, until mods, thankfully, shut it down.
I don't think people knew what his previous conviction was but definitely some kind of witch hunt mentality.

Shoplifting and home invasion/abduction are such vastly different crimes. I don't see it.

MOO
I don't see it either but since we have no clue who is responsible for taking Nancy we just have to look in all nooks and crannies.
Since this is a thief who was active around the same time and has some similar looks as porch guy maybe it's a possibility, how far fetched it may be 😅

Definitely. It was when the porch photos were released. A large contingent of people were convinced it was him. He was dragged into it.

My point being, while I appreciate that the mods do clean it up… let’s not pretend we don’t have some of those same people here.

Yes! I have them in my car as well, very helpful

I will say they don't really use traditional hearses around Tucson any longer. I used to work next to the medical examiner's office and most of the time the vehicles bringing and taking away the souls were white minivans from the funeral homes.
White vans make sense also if from the Medical Examiner's office/County Coroner...

It would either be prosecutors or her personal family attorneys dealing with trust, estate, and will issues, things like that.
I don't think those are family attorneys. First, they would not be entitled to any detective rundown on anything of substance. But also, they don't look at and act like estate attorneys. They look like prosecutors.

I did read that Savannah hired private investigators, whoever, and at this point, not knowing if the kidnapper had a grudge, or anything else, the family must protect themselves, and their own families now. It would be sad if the advice would be for them all to move somewhere else, as they have children in schools, friends, etc. This is affecting the local community, but the family most of all. I just wish they could get this guy and any accomplices. Heart wrenching.

More restrictive parking rules for Nancy Guthrie neighborhood

The Pima County Department of Transportation has created a no parking zone on several streets in the Catalina Foothills Estates neighborhood surrounding the Nancy Guthrie residence as a further measure to protect public safety and relieve area residents from chaotic conditions caused by a large media and social media streamer presence in the area. The change goes into effect Feb. 26.

Background and current conditions

Dozens of media and “streamers” have been camped out on North Camino Escalante for several weeks after an intensive search began Feb. 1 for Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC Today Show host Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie was last seen Jan. 31. Streamers and media members have set up tents, generators, and sometimes satellite trucks along the road, creating severe congestion and safety concerns, and at times blockages of the quiet neighborhood road.

An attempt starting Feb. 21 to restrict North Camino Escalante to a one-way road to allow traffic flow but also accommodate the media and social streamers has not worked as hoped. Neighbors have continued to complain bitterly as they contend with continued clogged roads, trespassing, noise, and accumulating trash along the road.

Additionally, because of the one-way restriction, streamers and other members of the public have been parking on connecting roads and cul de sacs, spreading the congestion and safety concerns to other parts of the neighborhood. The neighborhood has narrow, unstriped streets that were not designed for on-street parking.

Temporary no parking zone

To protect public safety and restore the neighborhood to more normal conditions that allow access to the community for emergency vehicles and fire trucks, as well as service vehicles, such as school buses, trash trucks, and the postal service, the County has created a temporary no parking zone to be enforced by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Zone boundaries and duration

The zone encompasses the County-maintained roads between North Campbell Avenue on the east and North Camino Miraval on the west, and East Camino Miraval on the south and East Camino La Zorrela on the north. The parking restriction will remain in force until no longer needed.

Affected Roads:

  • N. Camino Miraval
  • E. Camino Miraval
  • N. Campbell Avenue
  • E. Camino La Zorrela
  • N. Mina Vista
  • N. Camino Escalante
  • N. Camino El Ganado
This includes all connecting cul de sacs to the above streets. Some roads and cul de sacs in the area are private and the resident owners will need to coordinate with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office to prevent parking on their private streets.

Signage and enforcement

Signs will be placed at each intersection in the No Parking Zone to alert motorists that parking is not allowed in or along any road segment within the no parking zone. Violators will be ticketed and face a $250 fine.

Legal authority

The County Code allows the County Engineer to make traffic control changes for purposes of public safety, and Pima County Ordinance 10.40.050(A) enables the Sheriff’s Department to ticket vehicles for violating the temporary restriction.

Media access and neighborhood guidance

Media will still be able to access the neighborhood and report from the public right of way. But media or streamers will have to access the neighborhood from a legal parking location outside of the zone, get dropped off, or use ridesharing or taxi services.

Residents in the no parking zone should alert any of their service companies about the parking restriction and that those vehicles will need to park in driveways. For instance, pool, exterminator, and landscaping services will need to avoid parking along the street in the zone during the temporary prohibition.

Welp that tells you right there that an arrest is not coming anytime soon. Otherwise there would be no need for this release.

Once an arrest is made the media will move on and or atleast focuses their attention elsewhere. And Pima county would know that

I just don't think that the family would leave the gated community they were reported to be staying in and risk being mobbed and/or followed by the media. MOO.
Agree. So, why do you suppose 1 vehicle parked in the garage? Were they planning on taking something out of that vehicle or putting something into that vehicle?

I think it's more likely this is the end result of neighbours reaching the limits of their patience.
