If it were a disgruntled fan or student then I doubt there’s more than one assailant. Seems like it would be a loner job. If there are two or more assailants then it seems it must be a kidnapping. For group gain. I think LE knows the answer to this. But we don’t, right?

My daughter has the button in her car. When she comes over, she just hits the button in her car and my garage door goes up. It's programed for our cars and her car. No phone apps involved. Maybe that's why NG's car is being held. i dunno jmo
Yes, mine too. Mine is integrated into my rear view mirror.

Agree. Some of the things in the press may have spooked the abductor, such as the police trying to grab the pacemaker signal.

Nancy is a very low risk victim & the motivation is unlikely to be sexual or financial. I think this is about Savannah & some creepy eccentric trying to feel a connection to her by association, perhaps feeding off of Savannah’s pain. I think the abductor is a man who is eccentric & antisocial. Two traits which may be why there’s a (perceived) absence of people noticing anything out of character or any changes in his routine. Savannah is a national figure, which is why I think it isn’t a given that the abductor is local to that area. I think he’s an inadequate man who goes unnoticed. A jobless oddball who stayed in a hotel in the area for a few days & has now driven back to wherever he came from.
They’ll find him eventually & hopefully when they do it isn’t too late for Nancy. But I think that sadly it will be.

My opinion
Agree that the motive wasn't sexual or financial, and your theories about this suspect being a creepy, antisocial eccentric who feels inadequate. This fits with the theory about him wanting to commit the perfect crime, and his careful planning and execution of this crime making him feel competent and adequate. JMO

The kind of anti-social eccentric guy who is a loner and feels inadequate wouldn't likely be the type who would have an accomplish. But, we don't know. MOO

It could be just some kind of like murder 'fanatic', that could explain the seeming intense level of preparation.

Someone who thinks they are committing the "perfect" crime and it's the preparation and execution of the crime that is the point rather than the victim

But that's just wild speculation/thinking out loud on my part
Same, I’ve thought about the same thing and at times I think it is someone acting out their interpretation of one of AG poems. 🤷‍♀️ I managed to snag a copy of her book today on eBay. I cannot wait for it to be here. I really want to read the whole thing, front to back, not just a few snippets posted online. I just really think it’s in the realm of possibility that it could be a disgruntled student of hers, maybe they didn’t like her critique of something they may have written, maybe theyre resentful because they think they should be teaching this class and she only got that job because Nancy has connections at the university... If I let my mind run wild it takes me to weird scenarios sometimes so I have to reel myself back in. However, I’m not a psycho either so I have no idea. Someone could have just said an innocent “no thank you” to this person and that started everything. Rejection, resentment, revenge.

Edited to add it could also be someone that AG praised as a writer and it was confused as affection and flirting by the perp. Which could have triggered an infatuation as well.

“These stories never made sense to me that she wouldn’t come back. And I know Savannah. I’ve hung out with her in a social environment. She’s really ambitious,” he said. “You don’t get to be in that chair. You don’t get to start in local TV and work your way up to the Today show chair without really wanting it. And more importantly, her mom really wanted it, too.”

He added that if Savannah left, then “these monsters, these terrorists, I would say, win, and she will not let that happen.”

Shuter then said insiders told him Savannah could return in “two to three weeks,” but only time will tell.

BBM. I agree with the source in essence, though sometimes when people describe women as "ambitious" it's hard to tell if it's truly a compliment. 😯

I won't claim to "know" SG as this source does as I never properly met her, but we graduated from UA's School of Journalism the same year. We both grew up in Tucson, we're the same age, our mothers are close to the same age, and the day after this story hit the headlines, I drove past NG's neighborhood to meet my own mother for her 80th birthday lunch. I've watched her career over the years and I've developed deep respect for her as a journalist. I'm happy to see someone believe in her ability to return to her job, which I can only imagine will be very, very difficult. At the same time, I've really hated all the gossip about whether she will or not, who might replace her if she doesn't, and even whether a rival colleague might be involved. IMO it's really nobody's 🤬🤬🤬🤬 business what she chooses or how soon, including going back to NYC to see her children, who have been processing all of this without her there for the past month. I would love to see her back behind the anchors' desk, but I only hope she does whatever she needs to do and tunes out all the noise from people who second-guess her decisions.

This whole thing is horrific and I can't even imagine trying to deal with it under this level of public scrutiny.

[end of rant] [no shade to the poster] [jmo]

To do that, they would have had the app on their phone, as Nancy's phone was still inside

But the LE would know that by the data and time

But we are not told
I think it's safe to assume AG has keys to her mother's house.

Hope FBI and LE think about this or get a tip about this article. One tiny hair could solve the case and bring NG home. JMO
I remember once on an episode of Forensic Files, a murder was solved by finding the victim's dog's hair in a van owned by a person who had come to look at the man's coin collection, and decided to kill him and steal it (it was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars).

That single pet hair opened up the resolution to the crime.

AG's professional background leads me to believe it's very possible she works from home most of the time. TC would be the one to definitely have a commute. Their child is probably attending the school TC works at, however, which makes coordination of some things easier.

It might have just made sense for them. My partner and I were one car for awhile, the minor inconveniences (for us) of having one car outweighed the financial strain of having another one to make payments on, to pay insurance for, etc. All jmo, of course.
Agreed. At some point AG/TC might have chosen to use motor bikes or bicycles, so one car has been enough.

I have a question- if I link an Instagram post here, does it link to my user profile on Instagram? Thank you!
@VeronicaVaughn To be sure you only share the IG post, click on the account of the post, find the post again, click it, and share from there, using share symbol and “copy link.” I think that will work.

If it isn't financial, how would that tie in with the ransom requests?
Exerting power and control over SG. Communication and attention from SG. Toying with and taunting SG.. Making her beg, negotiate, submit! JMO

I've always thought that if I were to commit a crime, I would definitely be done in by leaving dog hair at the scene. 😁

My point is who would take the risk to help someone abducting or hurting NG for personal reasons? Highly unlikely. There has to be gain for all participants, if there are more than one.

What about the possibility of someone who is overly social?

MOO.

Of course you may be correct, and I may be wrong, and we won't know for certain until this crime is solved:

But I have the opposite sense:

The crime was committed without passion; either to prevent NG from reporting fraud, or to get a large stash of cash they had been told she kept on hand, or a botched kidnap for ransom scheme.

Time will tell all.

But would you be calling 911 quickly without trying to find her for a while first?
I'd be checking out the back, the pool house, the neighbors gardens, up and down the street, and scrubland around the house to see where she might have gone. I would've imagined perhaps she was sick, or she'd injured herself, and gotten confused or may be laying somewhere.
I think all this could've taken an hour, so the fact the family didn't call LE until an hour after they arrived at NG's house makes sense to me. I don't think there's anything odd there.
The family wouldn't jump to murder/kidnap at this point considering she'd lived safely in that house for 5 decades.
Unless they saw blood in the house and signs of some kind of struggle...

Thank you! This is a test. At some point (maybe yesterday or even earlier today), I shared a screenshot of SG's latest Instagram post referencing that the reward up to $1M is now for the recovery of her mom, rather than for NG's return or recover. The post got deleted because I failed to include a link. Here is the link to SG's post. I know it's redundant, so I apologize, but I wanted to correct my error.

That “find a way to reach out to ME” is so interesting to me.

Editing- I had typed US but it says ME

The text in SG's post says "find a way to reach out to ME". I agree that it's interesting.
